Addressing Jedi Ronan Bruel

The Force, the all encompassing force in the universe, or so it seemed before the Vong, it was never wrong, just open to misinterpretation. Their was something wrong here, it wasn't just with the new craft, it wasn't the entire building, the whole thing just felt wrong. It was enough to send a chill down any Jedi's back, and Jedi arnt meant to get the chills, last time they did the universe was thrown in to a violent and bloody war.

The interpretation that the whole 'thing' felt wrong isn't much of a lead for Bruel to follow, he was sent to test the new craft and that is what he should do, the desire to investigate what the 'thing' is should be postponed, something did say to him what the thing was though. The thing felt like the company it's self, something about the company felt wrong.

sorry, school is a distraction

Quilia started sorting through the armaments and was quite delighted. The only thing upsetting her was that the droid decided it was more important to leave than to stock up on ammunition.

"Alright, fine!" Her voice was gruff. She set herself up in the gunner seat and shouted back to the others. "Let's stop at the door panel on the way out. I've got a surprise for these boys."

Addressing Jedi Ronan Bruel, again.

You enter the hanger just as a door of to the side finishes closing, it's a large completely unfurnished room with only one item in it, the new fighter. The disturbance must be coming from that.

Time for a replacement

Finding an unoccupied room in the vessel, Kate decides now is as good a time as ever to replace the spent medical arm. She quickly runs the replacement program, bringing out a second arm from an internal storage compartment and attaching it to the port where the first one was (the first is detached in the process, of course).

((Replace part repair check DC 15 taking 10 => automatic success))

Kate places the old, spent arm into the now vacant compartment, seeing as how the only thing it needs to be able to be reused is replacement medicine, which is easier to do than to make a completely new arm.

Pit Stop...

Up front Lelain hears Quilla's request. She debates, knowing she desperatly wants to rest, and knowing how far out she has to go before she can do that, but they probably deserve whatever Quilla is going to do. In a few moments the ship pulls up to the blast doors and there she pauses it.

"Make it quick!" She shouts behind her.

Ronan Bruel

Walking into the bay where the New Jedi fighter rested, Ronan paused to look it over. I had interesting lines and an aggressive style; he liked it. But he did not like the feeling he was getting about it or this place. Something was out of place here; the force was telling him that but not what it was.

He walked over to the fighter and stood next to the nose of the craft for a minute, then slowly he reached out and laid a hand tentatively on it’s metal surface. He almost expected some kind of attack from the feeling he was getting; it set his entire being on edge. He didn’t know what was going on here, but it was his duty to find out especially if it related to this craft.

He walked alongside the fighter, his left hand slowly caressing the frame trying to coax some kind of response to what he felt. Some type of emotion or warning of what might be wrong with it. He didn’t know this design, but he instinctively knew star fighters and if something was wrong with the design he figured he should be able to figure that out without the force.

((OOC: Nice ship! )

The Ship

There was nothing wrong with the ship, it was uncanny, the perfect little fighter stood before him, high powered, fast, maneuverable, accurate, stable, it just ticked all the boxes. It was a remarkable piece of design and manufacture, not to mention engineering, were all KTI ships like this one? It would mark a new era in space flight.

As it was the ship's shape reminded him of a bird he saw in a holograph, the bird could fly remarkable long distances and fly through almost any storm. When it dived it folded it's wings in for extra speed, and there were hydraulics and hinges on the ship to allow this. A 'perfect' fusion of technology and nature, how was this possible, it shouldn't be, but it is.

As for the disturbance in the force it now seemed not to be the actual ship, more the technology used in it, new technology, never seen by this galaxy before. The ship it's self had an inviting feeling about it, the very force said to him 'Fly this ship, this ship is good.' but at the same time it said 'Don't trust the makers.'

(OOC: I like the pic as well, it isn't mine but it took me ages to find a pic that suited the design spec.)

Ronan Bruel felt the ship was the most beautiful fighter he had ever saw, despite the feeling he had that something was wrong with it. Not something directly, if it flew as well as it looked then it would be marvelous, but something in it’s design, it’s technology.

‘Could this be related to the Vong?’ he thought to himself.

He continued to look over the ship and he delved deep into the force looking for anything that might tell him it something was derived from Yuuzhan Vong biotech.

‘What is your secret?’ he asked the ship mentally.

Sorry, school sux

"Make it quick!"

Quilia jumped out, determined to leave a mark on this place. It was a cesspit, and with any luck, her little bit of knowledge could make this company look they way it treats people.

She rushed up to the keypad on the way out, and plugged in some numbers. 7-1-3. She pressed the buttons, smiling and rushed back to the shuttle. She had no clue what it would do, but she was sure that, if nothing else, they'd know she had held a part in this.

Upward and Onward

She looked back behind her at Quilia and then at K8 with her big eyes, but said nothing. Instead she turned back to the console and thrust the engine into take off speeds and moved it forward up and out of the way of anything they might send at it from KTI. Things had not gone exactly as they had planned, as the throbbing in her chest reminded her, but they had the ship and no one had actually died, so it was now time to get their little band out of there.
Looking up toward the sky she put her attention on the ascent of their vehicle.

Sorry it's late, The ShipJackers

Just as the code is punched into the control panel all hell lets lose even though the effect to our heroes is minimal in comparison, if a little unfortunate.

In less time then it takes for even Kates processors to comprehend whats happening the room deadlocks, all exits and entrances are immediately covered with thick durosteel and a tiny device pops up through the floor, an explosive, one powerful enough to decimate everything in the room, rather less dramatically it begins to count down.

Fortunately enough the hanger door is not blocked, the giant shutter is jammed with just enough space to fly the ship through. The heroes take it, their way out. As they just get out of the hanger in the ship the device explodes, a shock wave punches into the back of the ship leaving a large and visible dent, damaging the engines, this ship wont be able to get far but that punch was all that saved them from the fireball that sped out the hanger door.

Once the ship is back under control, and with the passengers decided that they have caused enough mayhem and that they can't make it into orbit they decide to fly to the old hanger. It used to belong to the smuggler they used to work for and has all the equipment to repair the ship, and plenty of droids to do it. It's only a short flight but just before landing in the subterranean hanger the engines give out totally, not the best landing but nothing breaks and the shipjackers are now out of harms way, sort of.

Before they can continue their lives they need money though, for money they need a ship, the ship is broken. It'll take the droids two days to fix it but at least that gives a chance to find some work to do once they have a ship.

The city is a typical smugglers haven, finding a job wont be hard, even if it is just delivery boy/girl.

Time to get my pay...

Even before the ship makes it to the hangar, Kate quickly diagnoses the damage to the ship thus far, and afterwards runs a thorough diagnostics of the ship's components and hull. Even if time isn't of the essence, it is surely worth starting on the repairs as soon as possible.

Immediately after covering diagnostics of even the most minute problem, Kate quickly divides the other droids to work on separate tasks in the repairs, organizing them into efficient groups to ensure the quickest recovery of the ship possible. With the groups formed, Kate also gets to work as well, aiding wherever seems to require the most aid in the repairs.

Back to Business

Lelain sighed heavily as the ship finally landed in the hanger. This was not their intended landing spot, but the ship had taken too much damage after the explosion and would not have made it to the other location. This had worked in a pinch, and so far at least it seemed it was safe.

She settled back down into the chair and rested for a little while. Letting herself dream of being home again, but it was only a dream, this was reality. Opening her eyes she noticed she was alone. The droid could be seen out the window of the plane, already working diligently on organizing repairs and assessing the damage. Quilla she could not see at the moment, which might be better, she did not have much to say to the gunner.

Standing up she moved to smooth out her outfit and noticed the damage to it. The phaser burn marks burned holes in several places through the cloth, dark red stains that she knew had to be her own blood soaked into what was left of the cloth. Curiously she pulled out her shirt and took a look at the wounds, they were just small scabbed over holes in her smooth skin, still tender to the touch, but not dangerous, not anymore. Her first two actions would have to be to talk to the droid and find herself some decent clothing to change into.

Rising slowly she made her way out of the cockpit and then out of the ship. The droids bustled around her, and welding sparks flew off to the far right of her vision. Nodding in approval she made her way to a small metal chest on one of the walls, there used to be jump suits in there for the mechanics, not what she wanted to wear at all, but at least it wouldn’t be covered in blood and burns. She opened the chest and rummaged around until she found a blue suit, then found a spot of relative privacy behind some large empty containers and changed into the suit. Balling up her old clothes in her arms she ducked out from behind the containers and searched the hanger floor for K8.

Spotting her little purple stripes Lelain walked toward her.

“Um… Kate… I wanted to say thank you. If it wasn’t for you I’m certain I’d be dead right now. I owe you a great deal and so does my kin.” She then bowed formally to the droid, and even with the bundle of ruined clothes in her arms, the ridiculous mechanic’s jump suit, not to mention the surroundings she still looked almost regal with her movements and demeanor.

Slowly she rose again, and looked over the ship. The conversation drastically switched to something else. That was Lelain, she said thank you, she meant it and now it was time to get to the task at hand. “So how does she fare? Will we be able to depart soon?”

There was more on her mind than just the ship, but she would not bring any of it up, that was also Lelain.

Grr, where's that Basic speech capability when you want it?

“Um… Kate… I wanted to say thank you. If it wasn’t for you I’m certain I’d be dead right now. I owe you a great deal and so does my kin.” She then bowed formally to the droid, and even with the bundle of ruined clothes in her arms, the ridiculous mechanic’s jump suit, not to mention the surroundings she still looked almost regal with her movements and demeanor.
In response, Kate wheels around to face Lelain. The electric arc arm is quickly set aside, and Kate's dome moves forwards and backwards, pivoting at her two 'legs'; the astromech droid's nod. Unfortunately, it would have to do, for she couldn't yet configure basic into her vocabulator. In spite of the lack of vocal speech, Kate did look proud, just in her little stance. Whoever said only medical droids could heal?

Slowly she rose again, and looked over the ship. The conversation drastically switched to something else. That was Lelain, she said thank you, she meant it and now it was time to get to the task at hand. “So how does she fare? Will we be able to depart soon?”
Yes, with the minor thermal increase to the hull that occurred during the takeoff, as well as slight collateral damage to the rear of the vessel, it will be ready to go in 15 minutes... Kate beeps in binary, while twisting her dome from side to side; the astromech droid's shake of head 'no' response. Kate did have a sense of sarcasm, it's too bad she couldn't share it though...

Kate turns toward the ship's hull, and projects a holographic, three dimensional calendar upon it, highlighting 'today' and the 'expected date of repair completion', which is in eleven days.

Sorry for my absence

Kate, looking over the ships schematics for the first time finds something amiss. The ship can be controlled external it would seem, but where would it be controlled from. And then it clicks, KTI!

This'll set back the repairs if this warrants investigation, maybe even removing it if that can be achieved. The first will only set things back by a day, a total time of 12 days. The latter will extend the repair process to 13 days.
