Control?

Tear sits on the ground, still within the shadow she appeared from.

"Control?" Tear asks, slightly amused, "There are things that are beyond control. What matters is knowing what causes one to lose control. Such knowledge, if used in moderation, can be used to one's advantage, or one's demise. It all depends on if it is shared, and who it is shared with."

"This incident of tonight has occurred because that knowledge wasn't shared. Nothing more and nothing less. It is where you choose to go from here that matters." Tear murmurs.

I'm Okay Now

Shard appeared in her true form next to Eika. She laid her snowy head on her paws and sighed.

"I acted like such a kitten. But Fyet was so..." She didn't finish and put her head down, wrapping her tail around her body.

...

Eika looked at the tiny cat. "Fyet is just... well, he may just have problems with water." She said.

Eika laid her head on the tiny cat's. "He'll be fine: The important thing is that he didn't hurt you. But think how bad he must feel. Fyet must be feeling horrible."

Fyet to Tear.

"Tear... I thank you for your compassion and understanding. I must ask Shard for forgiveness. I will attempt to steer clear of water while near you three." Crawling back out from under the tree, and returning to his normal feline form, he averts his gaze, and simply says : "Lets go back."

Shard

Shard inched closer to Eika. She felt like she was in the den with her mother again, sitting next to her.

Shard looked up at her. "I...I guess I'll have to be careful with my powers." Shard said and stood up. "I suppose I should apoligize to Fyet. It's my fault he got wet."

Time to heal

Tear nods, saying, "I'm afraid I can only take myself through the world of shadows; I'll let them know you're returning."

With that, Tear returns to the shadow world, before finding the shadowy door by Shard and Eika. She slowly walks out of the shadow world.

"Fyet is returning now." Tear says gently, trying to make her return as subtle as possible.

Good

Shard looked at Tear. "Good. I... I didn't mean to get him wet." She said and her tail drooped.

"I gotta apoligize." Shard sat next to Eika again, impatiently waiting.

Here I comes...

A small rustle in the forest signals Fyet's return. Slinking through the tree line, head down, he avoids all eye contact. "I am sorry for what we experienced tonight. It won't happen again."

Shard

Shard looked at him.

"I'm sorry I got you wet Fyet. I should have been careful." She said.

Eika

Eika watched the two cats with mild interest.

Fyet had apoligizied, Shard had apoligizied. Personally, she didn't care what had started it.

But Fyet needed to apoligize, she was certain. But Eika wondered why Shard felt guilty...

With healing, the whole can be restored

Tear nods, watching the two cats apologize. That is good. Even if it seems only one side is at fault, hearing it from both sides makes the feeling mutual, which speeds up the healing process.

Tear steps forward, "Why don't we rest? We will have a long day ahead of us tomorrow."

Shard

Shard scuffed her paws over the dirt, swinging her tail alittle.

"It might be best." She finally said and walked alittle ways from the group, curling up into a ball and laying her tail over her nose.

"Good Dreams." Shard said, the same as her family used to.

Rest... no, I'm fine.

Fyet mews softly, like a young kitten. Then shaking his head, and still avoiding all eye contact, he mutters. "Go ahead and sleep. I shall take the first watch. I have to atone for what I have done."

Hmph

Tear looks sharply at Fyet, murmuring, "To atone for a mistake or an accident is only to fully admit that it occurred, and to set precautions to prevent it from occurring again. To punish yourself is to weaken yourself, which holds no gain for anyone."

Tear's eyes glance around, and she continues, "Also, there is no reason to set a watch for this night. As there is only us, even if the humans arrive at the forest this night, seeing it unguarded will put them off their guard, and so they will take a leisurely pace. That is one of the few benefits we hold being a small group, the advantage of being unknown."

Yeah... but no.

"Well..." Fyet purred. Quietly, a rumbling. "I have things to think about. Other than what happened today. I'm... missing some of my family." Fyet's eyes glaze over slightly, as though he is not really focusing on anything, lost in thought.
