Where to go from here?

Skari-dono,

A couple of questions/comments:

1) What's the current year? I've read through the history section from KotoR, but am uncertain as to which time frame we're in.

2) Is it okay that I named Riel whatshisname as my Jedi master?

3) As I hinted at in my post, I'm kinda assuming that the Ambassador is taking the lead and Benjamin is following as he's really just a glorified bodyguard at the moment. If you would like me to take the lead and the Ambassador to move to the background, that's fine too, just not sure what kind of authority Benjamin has.

4) Also, as this is the Ambassador's ship, I'm assuming that he knows what the "escape plan" in case of boarding... i.e. the Khil has a escape ship somewhere with a dedicated pilot to ferry him away. Maybe I'm dreaming, but I figure if he's got a hanger big enough to hold the good doctor's ship, he's bound to have a ship of his own in there, yes?

5) Kate has looked to make contact with Benjamin (and the Ambassador, I assume). Again, I envision the Khil replying first, inviting the droid along (or not). Benjamin's concern is for the Ambassador and would not look to invite "extra" baggage along for the ride, especially because he's not sure of the Ambassador's plan.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm not really sure where to go from here and am waiting for further instruction from the Khil. If the Ambassador is not really suppose to take a lead role, let me know and I'll look to formulate a plan that includes the others.

...

No worries, I have some answers.

1) This is the great Sith War. Exact year hasn't been picked yet and I doubt it will really matter. The war may have started up to a year ago and I will probably be working with that assumption.

2) That's actually perfect

3) For now, you are following him. That's all I'm saying for now.

4) That is a good assumption.

5) The sky is actually green, did you know that? Things will be clear enough soon.

If you're not sure where to go from here, just wait for me to update the game and point you in the right direction.

you two

Sorry, not a very good starting post and the speech doesn't really portray her normal character but she's a bit panicked now. When there safe you'll see a different side of her but she is likely to be rather short tempered on the YT-1300 when they escape, especially if she isn't piloting.

Admiral, when your character says:
and you two are welcome to come along

Are you refering to Arruna`dira and Kate or Benjamin and The Ambassador?

EDIT: My Arruna`dira is going to be very likely to be paying attention to how the ship is being flown so if you could give some comments about how the Gal'Pani is being piloted, including if it's being piloted by a droid and Arruna`dira would be able to tell.

Current events

A small group of Mandalorian troops have just arrived and we're switching over to combat sequence. The Initiative order is as follows:

Combat Droid (27) (hp lost 47; out of order)
Arruna'dira (25)
Crusader (21) (hp lost 69; out of the fight)
Kate (19)
Wrrlwarr (18 ) (hp lost 15)
Awvoor (delayed to 18 ) (hp lost 11)
Crusader (18 ) (hp lost 65; out of the fight)
Benjamin (14)
Combat Droid (14) (hp lost 45; out of order)
Crusader (14) (hp lost 71; out of the fight)
Crusader (11) (hp lost 58; out of the fight)

Of course, you don't actually have to post in that order (I personally will wait until everyone else has posted to finish my actions). Admiral has full control over Wrrlwarr if he wishes.
To make things simple, the corrider has enough space for all of you to take action. Additionally, the walls have some space where you can get some cover (never complete cover, though).

If you think I'm forgetting anything, just remind me

He pointed to the ambassidor and Jedi when he said that. Sorry, no rabble allowed. Yet, at least.

Initiative...

I noted that on my character sheet my initiative said +4. It should have read +14 (as Benjamin has it as a trained skill). I've corrected it on his sheet.

Don't know if it made a difference in the encounter (don't really care either). I'm sure it will work out fine.

Questions and intentions...

QUESTIONS

1) How far away are the crusaders and combat droids?

2) Are they advancing on our position or just firing from the door?

3) How far away is the nearest exit? (excluding the one that the enemy just came through) And does Benjamin know where it leads? (or anyone else for that matter)

4) If we wanted to go back the way we came, how far is it?

5) If we wanted to get to the hanger, would we have to get past these crusaders and combat droids?

6) Where does the Khil ambassador fit into the initiative order, or is he just going to stand there?

7) How familiar is Benjamin with the lay of the ship. I'm assuming he traveled here on it. And he has probably been on starships like it. Does he know his way around the starship? (I don't personally, but I could make stuff up)

INTENTIONS

Benjamin's intention is to instruct the Ambassador to find cover by the wall. Depending on how far away the enemy is and whether or not they are advancing on our position, Benjamin will likely spend his round covering the Khil and trying to redirect blaster fire back at the Crusaders / Combat Droids.

I'll post tomorrow or Friday, depending on the response to the above questions.

Answers

Don't worry, I noticed that you forgot to add your Skill bonus to Initiative and corrected it while rolling.

And here are some answers to your questions:

1) They are about 30 feet away (6 squares), short enough to get to them with a single move action.

2) They are firing at you from their positions. If you advance in the opposite direction, they will probably follow or secure the corridor.

3) Nearest doors lead into rooms. There is another corridor leading to the right if you turn around, but it is just over 30 feet away. The corridor continues though straight forward as well. Think of it as a T-shaped thingy, and you're in the left arm.
The passage in front of you leads to the hangar where Admiral's ship and Loki's speeder are stored. The passage straight behind you will take you to the hangar where the ambassador's ship is hiding, but the distance is greater and the Maladorians entered the starship close to that area first. The corridor to the right once you've turned around will eventually take you to the engine room and the lower decks.

4) The way back depends on where you were before here. We can assume it is a serious distance though and will take several minutes to get back to.

5) Yes, and no. There is no 'the' hangar. There are at least two hangars, one on each side of the starship. One (the one with Admiral's and Loki's vehicles) is passed the crusaders and the droids. The other (the one with the ambassador's ship) is towards the other direction.

6) The Khil ambassador won't be fighting, he is purely noncombatant. If he must, he will act last. He will probably just shake in fear unless directed to do something else.

7) Benjamin is fairly familiar with the layout of the ship. He will probably know in what direction to go to get to certain points in the ship, but tricky passages or areas where he does not have a permit (or a reason) to enter are probably a bit elusive.

I admit, this combat may seem too much for you to handle, but I assume this is nothing you should not be able to handle. Believe it or not, I'm not trying to kill your characters this early in the game.

Q

What is the weapon policy on the ship? Would Wrrlwarr be able to walk around with his bowcaster and vibro ax?

hmm

Seeing as Kate naturally has her (its?) weapons, I assume your wookie friend has his weapons as well. I'm still waiting for the list of weapons he has though, so that would be good to have (if you already PMed it to me, could you do it again?).

To explain why that should be possible, instead of just assuming it is, the chaos that ensued the attack of the Mandalorians could easily have caused enough confusion for you to sneak weapons on board.

On the other hand, they might just have let you in with the weapons in hopes that you might assist them if the Mandalorians would board the ship (as they did).

We could make up many reasons why any of you have a weapon at hand and nobody does anything about it, but the short version would be something like "it gives you tools to defend yourselves with."
