Character Description/History:

Irael awoke in the wild elven lands, not knowing where he was. As he sat up, he felt a throbbing pain in his head, though he had no idea why he would feel it. Looking at his body, he realized he had been stripped of everything he owned, and was lost. Not daring to give up, he got up and wandered aimlessly, searching for someone whom he could ask what happened.

A day later, he was found by a patrol team, and brought to the village. He rested in the infirmary until he was capable, and then began to ask around what had happened. Nobody knew why he was there, or how. Simply that Irael now was part of their village. Irael attended the school of elven swords and sorcery to be able to prepare himself for when he was to be in a dangerous situation again, so that he would not be harmed. Being with his kin, he learned the way of mixing the sword and magic in combat. Irael excelled at this, and became the top of his class. However, his desire for knowledge of who he had been before he awoke that one day puzzled him to no end, and so he left the Syl village and went off questing for the answers.

I've designed various duskblades in the past... (only ever got to play one)

Whoop, whoop...

Well got to do some reading of 3.5 rules and stuff a bit but thanks for the chance. I'm more to the role playing than rules so please bare with me. I've done 2.0. 4.0, Cortex and fate so 3.5 shouldn't be that tough.

I like that this character hasn't fleshed out completely by the last writer. A chance to Odyize him and he's an outsider, so that's a good twist too. I hope to get a bit of post up by Sunday.

Thanks Darren, but I'll just stay with this guy. It'll be easier to get use to 3.5 rules if I keep it simple. I was concerned with the beguiler class magic using that I'd mess it up. Hard to mess up swashing, lol.

Description: Well-dressed, well-groomed, and well-spoken… these are words that well describe Mendez.

History: Mendez spent much of his early adult life traveling around Pardinal with a group of entertainers known as The Six Fingers. Mendez performed as the Showman, the announcer of the other ten members of the group (Anton and Arlo {Acrobats}, Lucio {Juggler}, Raul {Strongman}, Teo {Escape Artist}) as well as performing illusionist and sleight of hand tricks.

Nearly three years ago, The Six Fingers were ambushed by a group of bandits as they were traveling. Lucio and Raul were killed, while Mendez and the others were captured and held, hoping that their family members might pay a ransom for their release. While being held, Teo managed to escape his bonds and release his companions. During their escape, Teo was killed by the bandits.

When Mendez and the acrobatic brothers made it to the safety of the city, they were at a loss for what to do… only three of the six Fingers remained… not enough to continue together. Anton and Arlo found work soon enough with another traveling company, but Mendez sunk into a deep melancholy as he mourned the loss of his companions, especially Teo, who had been like a younger brother to him.

After about half a year of living in this dark place of depression, Mendez was forcefully brought out when he came upon a group of thugs taking advantage of an older man and his daughter in back alley of Visden. Using some simple spells and his vast imagination, Mendez “conjured” forth a few “foes” worthy of the thugs, scaring the ruffians away. The event brought a renewed sense of purpose to Mendez’ life – his “simple” illusions could do more than just entertain; they could bring about justice.

This event also brought a new relationship into Mendez’ life – Sabina, the young woman whom he had rescued, and her father, Gregory. Mendez is currently courting Sabina, and the two are very much in love.

With a renewed sense of purpose came a new line of work. Mendez, seeing an opportunity, joined up with the Blood Guard, selling his services as an information specialist and spy. The work takes him away from Visden often and worries Sabina. She puts on a brave face, however, knowing that Mendez is serving a greater good.
