See title of this thread. Threads simply about a link go there now.

If the staff sees old threads where this is pretty much the point, I'd appreciate them being moved to this category.

Rule of thumb: active members with at least a few posts can put links here, provided they are not porn, etc, or are not overtly trying to poach our membership away to some other gaming site.

On the other hand, newbies who join simply to post a link shoul dhave their links removed and should be chastised/banned, depending on the severity.

Beside the forum thread where Olan is saying "no porn" I have an advertisement for some online game featuring a half naked girl in a provocative pose holding a large staff between her legs.

Made me laugh long and hard. We are like the MTV network, all the sudden we are showing soft porn 24/7 and no one noticed.

Just a thought, but could we have a place, maybe a scroll down under articles where you could see a list of the last ten new threads posted? Not posts to existing threads but brand new threads because I sometimes find that I miss threads completely as I ... well ...I only look at the latest updated topics! I admit it. I'm so ashamed of myself!

That's a statically-created javascript file, which is run on the client's computer. If you disable javascript, you get an ugly version of the menu (mainly there for search engines, since nobody disables javascript).

To show the last ten topics, the web server woudl need to create that list on the fly. Really tough to get it into that js file, though.

hmmm... how about Steelight's Creator's Call? I think it should go in Spamvertizing, but I'm not 100% sure.

It turns out there is a lot of vagueness around the rules, or at least how I'm interpreting them. It says that every link posted outside forum gaming necessity should go in the spamvertizing. Does that also include Alacrity telling us there is a cool site where you can play risk?

If so, does that also mean that somebody saying he saw a cool movie should go in the Spamvertizing?

There is a lot of these kind of topics going on in the common room, and I didn't even go over the full list.

Debating moving the various convention thread there. Also debating moving the convention off topic diversions of some threads there if I had that ability. Also debating chicken or fish.

The ad at the top of the page, just below the menu bar? "Costumed Hotties" is at best questionable content, and frankly, I didn't stay there long enough to find the worst.
