from the map it looks like best bet is for the 4 already on the floor to step forward and form a ring, backs together that should keep focus on us and restrict number of attackers. Everyone else can focus on #10 and then attack the rest from behind.

my bad on the weapons use; it is armor that the paladin must wear the "nicest" of not the best. ie regular Chain is preferred over +4 leather and even cursed plate is preferred to "+anything" chain

So ...I'm getting it that the four protect the stairs so the others can file out and go attack #10.

Would semicircle work as well, backs to stairs? That way the four all face the the 9 bugs.

DM: If a semi circle as suggested above would work, we will go with that; if not the back together circle. Have Rayne and then Sirene finish us off for actions.

So, is someone going to post some actions and if you dont want Kenji going after the one he injuried you might want to yell at him.

Question to DM: #10 was right next to Kenji when it attacked and then moved away. How far can these things move? Would Kenji get an attack when it tried to back away? I am just trying to understand movement during combat and other actions. Seems the thing moved far away in one round. Could Kenji reach it and attack all in this round?

In any case, if the general thought is to attack the same creature it might be hard with so many of us and in a semicircle around the stair. We might not all be able to attack the same one jsut because of size and getting in each other's way.

Just thoughts. Weigh in everyone. Please!

Why not use the stairs to our advantage; form up on the back side of the stairs instead of in front of it. Force the things to come around the stairs and if we can do it maybe we can get one in between our group and the stairs and force it back and fall down the stairs. Just a thought.

I don't think the beasts can fit down the stairs...I think they are too large, or just not interested in pursuing us that far from their posts. I am currently at work, but I will be reading the posts tonight (a lot to read) but well done RPNoob, on figuring out the riddle.

Well I haven't been stalling on purpose. I'm just trying to get my idea of just what we are doing. I have to bring Ulthok back to visible and then crest the stairs to stand next to Kenji.

I was wondering if he'll need to put away the bow and draw the iron sword. My original plan was to fire arrows from the relative safety of the stair and then draw sword and try sneak attacks.

I'd gather our circle would be tall, small, tall , small.

I've had Sirene cast Haste, which should help.

As for marching order, I've indicated in the post that she'll be coming out last. Although she's gone all Polar Beary, she is still a lover and not a fighter.

She should heal some hit points courtesy of shifting as well.

First Question: Keeper you say a circle back to back forgive me for being a blond but what exactly do you mean. Back to back Tall/Short or a semi-circle in front of the stairs blocking creature access to it's entrance

Second Question: Ginafea where are you changing into the polar bear, 1st floor or 2nd

Answer@RP Noob: No the spell and Sandals do not stack, so you can use the spell or the Sandals but not both, your choice.

Also just to let you all know my HP computer is for the moment not working due to I believe a comp virus that infected my System Machanic program and during a routine cleaning of the computer last night erased my Windows Vista start up program from it so I cannot access the comp programs or Internet from it and am using Mom's old, very slow, very semi-usable Compaq computer so there may be no post tommorrow night depending on if I can use my old Gateway she now has as this one is giving me problems.

She'll transform on the 2nd floor (where the bugs are). I'm guessing the stairway is too tight for her to fit in bear form.

The downside to the hairy hugs (yay!) is the bear breath (poo!).

Re. the Haste Spell, it means that each affected creature functions at double its normal movement and attack rates for 15 rounds. They also get a -2 initiative bonus.

Well in that case I will take the Haste spell; I will edit my post to remove the comment about the sandals.

Now as to the spell and item not stacking; I know that is probably in the rules but other than to say it isnt fair, why exactly would a spell and an item NOT stack?

Sounds to me, like it is in alot of games that I play such as Skyrim, bonuses from item and spells do stack.

So I wonder why in this type of gaming it is considered not culmulative?

Ok for the blond : If we (Cor, Kenji, Ulthok, Connel) can form just a semi circle with our backs to the stairs and still allow the other party members to get to #10 that is the first choice. If not, we will step forward a bit and form a cicle with our backs in the center, basically facing out.
