In combat, if Kenji was to very quickly, using the haste spell upon him, withdraw away from the one attacking him to fall back to assist the other group; would he face any attacks from the ones in front? I mean he is hasted so would be moving very fast, so what is the situation there? Whenever you attempt to disengage with a living opponent that enemy gets a to hit roll with +'s, hoever as your Hasted it would be a normal to hit roll w/o pluses.

Could he reach the group behind in time to attack those the ones headed that way, to intercept one or any of them? Normally no as that would be considered a full move, however your Hasted so it would be a half-move then attack so you would get your normal amount of attacks.
So yes you could go to thier aid HOWEVER that would leave Ulthok quite exposed to attack by two creature.

Another question: How long does that Haste spell last? 3 rds +1 rd per LvL of caster so 15 rds

Thanks for the answers; I was curious about possible actions.

Kenji doesnt intend to retreat back; as I see it he is engaged and with his attention on the opponents in front of him he wouldnt really notice what was going on back there wihtout cause. It is good do know though what the consequences would be if he withdrew from combat.

Is the bug that Ulthok shoot now blinded or just one side? #2 is not blinded at all just hurt and bleeding from the eye.

Is the bug that bit Ulthok too close to use the bow or can he fire off the arrows? If you were specialized in the bow you could still use it however as you are not it’s sword time again

If Ulthok goes invisible can he move and cast a spell? No going inviso would be considered an action, though you could still move before or after going inviso.

Is Ulthok now too weak to "Polymorph" and become a giant bear like Sirene? No the poison has not yet taken effect.

So anyone have more questions you guys and gals be tiring me out .

This is now my only game...........

With Al out for RL stuff this is my only game, so except questions so this is player well.

Now I thought that going invisible with the ring was of an "at will" type action because it didn"t require special activation, like him boots, they just work when he wants them to work.

My thought was similar to our last battle where he went invisilbe, advanced a half move and then attacked with the bow that brought him out of invisible and then he willed invisible again.

My thought for this round was to will invisible form the ring, half move to change location to avoid charging bug, cast spell as round action (I didn't see anywhere that said casting a spell brings him visible, only if he attacks does he become visible.)

I want to give Kenji "Enlarge" so he can deal more damage with the two iron swords but now as a larger being.

I'm trying to use more of Ulthok's potential of being an 11th level mage, I'm still getting use to this much ability.

I'm thinking that Kenji "Large" would be more effective that Ulthok Polymorphed.

Great Googily Moogily, I need an editor. I just reread that first sentance, lol.

Let's see it should have been "expect". "so that this one is played well."

Oh THE Ring

Gotta get rid of that soon

Ok I thought you meant going inviso by spell I seem to keep forgetting about that damn ring of yours.

Yes you can go inviso, move a half move, and then cast Enlarge on Kenji and remain inviso as its not an offensive spell.

I'll get that ring soon yesss myyy precioussss yesss yesss
Oh I understand about being down to 1 game as of rt now I'm playing in no games as a player as Alacrity was DM for the 3 I am in ~sigh~

But Dad..................

Boss, I'm just learning to play your game better.

I thank Celesta and Phelan for helping me with my amulet, that was a life saver, lol.

Now if I just get better at planning spells.

Get ready RPN Ulthok is about to make you, "Big Man On Campus".

Kenji @ Large

Well just make a post and make sure you yell to Kenji that you are going to cast a spell on him. That way he will be receptive to the idea.

I read the spell you posted and it says all his stuff, weapons, etc. will grow as well so that will make it interesting

So exactly how big will he get? Does it depend upon his level like alot of spells seem to do?

"Big"..............

RPN, Nenji will increase 110% because Ulthok is an 11th level mage.

That makes make him 154 inches tall, 12foot 8inch, bwaaahahah.
And @ 170 pounds he's now 374 pounds, Heavy...dude!!

Plus your weapons are 110% larger, they increase in proportion.

I've started to work on the post, RPN do you want me to PM it to you first so we can tweek it?

I think if Sirene steps up to take on bug #2, Big Kenji hits #1, Cor on #7, Conall on #4 & Alasdair on # 5 that should give Althena and Cynil hit #10.

Ulthok will get back in the fight next round. But if another good spell on one of our folk helps then I'll look into that.

Ody

Since we have another week; sure send me what you come up with and we can collaborate on the final post.

Yeah that sounds pretty big; I will start thinking on my post of action.

Spells

Ody if you need any help with spells, I'm happy to offer some advice. Of course there's only so much you can do once the spells have been chosen and you're in the middle of combat!

If our characters do get any downtime, though, we ought to swap some spells (which goes for Haila tool). And it could be fun to do that IC.

Thanks Gina...

As you might have noticed, I've started posting the spells in our Q&A so everyone has a better idea what to expect or might have a better idea on what to use. I do go back to the character lists to see what others might have too.

I've gone so far as to actually having a spell book for Ulthok where I've copied all his spells for easy reference.

I'm not trying to go against our original plan that Keeper set out but it just looks like the story changed that plan for us. To me it just seems we now need to occupy and defeat each bug one on one because they can't be singled out for group attack safely. Sure we will need to help each other best we can as the oppertunity arises.

I just felt that with Ulthok now poisoned his physical attacks would be weaker and casting helpful spells on party members could serve the group more. He tried "fighter hero" and now he needs to fall back on his Mage / Thief skills.

BTW Gina Ulthok is still smiiten by Sirene and he really appreciates her going after bug #2. In my post he will be vanishing, but moving behind Kenji, so there will be a clear path to bug #2. You'll hear him shout out as he screams in pain and them warning Kenji as what is about to happen to him.

Gina, do you want to see the post too in PM so all three of us can better plan?

Yep

Yep ok, I'm happy to have a look at the post.

I kind of agree that we're not going to be able to all group up on a few bugs, but we should still target the few that are already injured rather than spread out our attacks on uninjured critters. The nightmare scenario is that we lose more PCs or NPCs and have 2 (or more) bugs on one character.

Oh and I did figure out that Ulthok was smitten by Sirene. She's just clueless and oblivious to it all.

The Plan

Sun Tzu said that a Plan was good up until the battle was joined then you have to adapt your plan to what the enemy does.

We have to down them and move to assist others as soon as we can.

Once Kenji is large, he will attack the one in front of him and then if he finishes it off he will move to try and get behind the #2 one that Sirene is engaging. The Haste should help in his movement and attacks and I believe will help turn the tide. Once the bugs are being attacked from behind they should fall quicker; we hope.
