I am thinking that infravision might not work. Mainly because the DM describes it as steam several times, steam usually is warm, if not outright hot. This would probably make infravision useless. Just my thoughts, will wait for the official word though.
Ok everyone this last year has been really hard for me as far as running Trilogy probably the hardest to date. After 9 years I'm getting worn out from having to always defend my posts because they don’t work out the way you, the players, think they are supposed to or I did not take into account some minor factor. On top of all the rules lawyering going on in this game to be told I am god moding my posts so that nothing ever goes right for the party, that I am purposely screwing the party and players over really pisses me off and makes me wonder why I keep running the game. Nobody realizes how much time it takes to keep Trilogy going and to keep it interesting for everyone, including myself. Nobody that is but other DM’s and I have been talking through chat and email with some of the other experienced long time DM's on here and how they would handle this and I have come to a decision on how Trilogy will be run by me from now on.
First off Rule lawyering in an on-line game is a waste of time because so much is run by yours truly, ME. As one of the DM’s I talked to told me it all comes down to a question of do you trust me as your DM? If I wanted you dead I could have killed all of you and those before you in a hundred different ways in the last 9 years. So if you don’t trust me to not stack the deck against you without leaving the party a way out then please, I ask you, leave my game this week as from now on I will no longer argue the rules with you. Unless I make a mistake that affects the whole party, is the cause of player death or affects the time line, my posts stand as written. Please everyone take this to heart if you continually argue the rules with me after I have closed the discussion after listening to you and making my thoughts clear I will ask you to leave my game.
I don’t like asking players to leave, I want people to work things out get along and have fun. Perhaps some of you enjoy the arguing about rules with me, I don’t know. My job as DM is to write a good story and make sure everyone has fun including myself. Well that enjoyment for me is fading and if I have to drop players to find it again for me and the remaining players that’s what I will do, I don't want to keep playing this way.
I was asked a little while ago by a player why can’t we fight easy to kill monsters. Really, your kidding right. This game is high level, high fantasy and with that comes powerful monsters, powerful spells, Evil intelligent weapons and smart as hell bad guys. Not the killed with one hit 1st through 5th lvl ones. In all honesty most everyone in this game should know that by this time and accept it. I mean look at your character sheets and what each of you are carrying. Christ each of you guys & ladies are freaking walking arsenals of destruction. As far as other campaigns on here are concerned whether AD&D or otherwise Trilogy has the most magic available to the characters then any 6 games combined, past and present. Do you really think I’m going to throw enemies at you that you can walk over with just a few hits, no I won’t, you just have to be smarter then the bad guys.
So there it is how I will run my game from now on. No more extensive arguing over the rules, no more defending my posts because things did not go as planned. Yes I will of course still answer questions about my posts and my interpretation of the rules but after that if you don’t like my explanation, I’m sorry, but please do not continue arguing over it. I hope everyone can understand the reasons behind the above. I want all of you to stay but I will not try to stop you if you leave and will not hold it against you if we should end up playing together in another game. I will be posting this Sunday the 5th of May as normal, sorry for the week delay...........
I actually kind of like the challenging combat scenarios. A bit more downtime would be nice between combats, but that's partly because I've been coming and going from the game a bit over the last few months.

While I wont argue with you about rules, I might ask for clarification on how you interpret things. Now this doesn’t mean I will always agree with your decision, but I will respect your ruling no matter how wrong it might be.
But, it is your game and your decision, my only opinion in the end is, as you said, is to choose not to play in your game. But I don’t think I will have this problem so no worries from me.
As far as infravision goes for those that have it, is just barely usable due to the heat of the steam. Ulthok gets brief flashes of Jessica, the Bhuts and Cor, or in the case of Cor, Jessica, the Bhuts and Ulthok but neither of you get any indication of Valene and or Black Robe.
