Good questions! We need to think a bit.
Saving the Dragon Queen is of more benefit to the war then just crashing the castle. Remember if we save her then she can bring the Good Dragons to help fight the millions of baddies attacking Core.
So at least Ulthok knows where the gem is to get he party back to it and he just mentioned the gem, not explain all the magic he saw.
I don't trust the eye. Do we destroy it?
The fly potions won't help if we are inside the stone castle. We would need to be able to escape to the sky.
Back at the giant's cave Cor cast a spell that let the mages study and get a spell. Does anyone remember how long that took?
Look back at the character sheets to see who has healing left.
If we aren't planning on raising Barreel then we should just respectfully leave him in Odin's hand.

I removed the character from the Character thread. Here's his stuff
+2 Field Plate Armor (Armor is covered in razor sharp spikes that in melee if he is physically attacked will each do 1d4 points of damage. There are 24 such spikes arrayed on the armor. To determine the number that hit roll 1d20 +4)

Unfortunately, it looks like I have became occupied for a while with my final exams. I might have to miss two posts, though I can try for the second update. It depends how dead I am from my last final and travelling home.
I intend to have Ulthok press to go search for the Dragon Queen. She is needed to win the war.
Been a rough week. Traveled and had a bunch bad flights. Got delayed in Charlotte because Obama flew in there. I didn't get home until 2am. So tired today. I will look deeper into the healing stuff tomorrow. Only got about 8 hours sleep in the last 48. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz........
Lothor has one ring at the moment. Since I believe you can use two at a time, he could make use of Bareel's ring. He also does not have magic boots, so those would work for him as well. I don't know if he is the best choice or not. Who else can use them?
Also, it is not in the general mindset of a warrior, at least in my experience, to leave behind a comrade. Alive or dead, it does not matter. Abandoning Bareel strikes me as something Lothor would be very loathe to do. If it is necessary to do so for now while they hunt for the others, he would make every effort to return for the body before escaping the castle. He would also want to try and preserve the body somewhere while searching.
Originally the first player of Lothor had him very leary of magic. Giving him the rabbit's foot was his first real magic item and he didn't know until later when we told him how to use it. He has been with us long enough now to see that magic is not inherently bad and he may be ready to accept items to enable him to be better as a warrior to defend his friends.
So a RP of asking how they work and then desiding to try them would be in character.
As for Barreel's body, well no one really wants to leave him but with no one to play him there is little reason to take his body with us. To place him with the beheaded fighters would put many of the bodies in one place so they can be recovered from the rubble. Or figure the rubble will be their honored mass tomb.
Ulthok has an amulet of life protection so if he dies his life essence goes into it. By healing his body wounds his spirit can return without a raise from the dead spell.
We can move Barreel to the room of the dead as ceremonial spirit guard. Would this be acceptable to the group?
He has 2 skins of ale, we leave one on him and pass the other around the party as toast to his courage.

Ok short post but a needed one and though I did not go into more depth with this post as only four of you posted I still needed a way to officially remove the character of Weaver from the game as any new player/character will not be entering the game till this missions conclusion.
Nimu I did not mention your Identify spell as it would not have worked and would have been wasted. As a high lvl sorceress you would know that any item to be revealed by the spell needs eight hours of purifying first. Plus you would know you can ID more then just 1 item at your lvl if all are purified.
As for Ody's posted idea of healing I need an agreement from all players doing the healing before I remove such spells from your character sheets and add full health to all. A brief yay or nay here in the Q/A will be enough.
Last subject you all need to figure out what magical items are going, and who gets what of both found and Barreel's items. I also need to know what, if anything, other non-magical gear your going to strip off him and take with you so I can list it on the character sheets.

Sorry I didn't get a post in, I was sorta waiting on the plan with Bareel's stuff. As noted Lothor could use a ring or the boots. Most notably the boots, probably. I can put in a post about trying the boots as suggested. Unless someone else wants them.
Lothor would be ok with the cremation idea. Or anything else that offers the best burial situation possible. If Bareel's body is left behind, Lothor would want to come back to retrieve it later if that proves possible. Which, I understand, it might not. If this isn't exactly how the last guy played Lothor, oh well, it makes sense to my sense of a warriors honor. I understand the practicality of the issue, and as Ulthok may need to set aside personal goals so may Lothor, but "leave no one behind" is an age old idea.
I assume only a dwarf could wear the armor, so that doesn't do much good for most of us.

Ok tonight's post is up and it's another short one. Ok I need a few things.
1) How did you finally deal with Barreel's body. Cremation? Burial chamber? And if cremation what was the flame source.
2) A detailed list of who has what of the items found and Barreel's and how and where they are stored. Don't just tell me "I wrap it up put in my pocket, bag of holding" etc. I want to know what you wrapped it in and how it was packed.
3) Still waiting on that healing list of what spells and or potions each of you are using to get everyone up to max HP's. If you sent it then I misplaced or lost it so please send it again ok trust me could be very, very important very, very soon.
