Misunderstanding
Ody the blue dot is not the tower but a future pirate fort built to protect the trading post. Think of it as Nassau during the time of Blackbeard, Charles Vane, John Silver and so on. A pirate tent city/trading post but far in the future.
As for the tower that is somewhere on the island hidden by the forest but unknown until my next post which will not be tonight. I should have it up by tomorrow or Tuesday nite the latest.
Just too tired rt now, long super bowl orientated day

Eagles.....
So are these normal sized Eagle with extra legs or giant Eagles with extra legs.
These are not standard to the 2.0 Monstrous Manual.

Size Matters.........
Yes ..but is it regular eagles type bird size? A Roc is an eagle type bird but always very large. The mountain eagles of LOTR were a giant sized bred. Peri could judge size as compared to the surroundings. Also giant birds would be addressed differently than standard size birds. Regular size birds most offer attack in flocks on one subject and a giant bird can go one on one. A regular sized eagle type bird could perch on a man's arm, a giant bird can carry him off.
These may or may not be evil, they may be neutral. The tower may be magic, but it might not be evil magic. The birds may be the protection from evil and therefor possible allies. If they are large enough to carry us AND could be allies they could fly us to the tower.....just saying.....we don't have to be lunch.

Stil at the beach
While others worry about the birdy thingies . . .
A question for the DM:
The jungle we are likely going to be entering - how dense is it? Does it look dense enough that creatures that don't like the light could operate in its shadows even during what would normally be daylight?
Also, do we have any sense of how many gibberlings we toasted?
A question for the group:
As I have said before and others seem to agree, leaving the Gibberlings around to attack us from the rear seems like a bad idea. Right now we are operating on the assumption that we will hunt town their lairs and dispatch then during the day. Consider the question above. Also, there is another option. What if we simply spend the night on the beach. They wouldn't surprise us and we could be prepared. A well place wall of fire, another bunch of lighting strikes, fireballs and arrows and we can probably clean them out. Perhaps we start with damp cloths around our faces for the smell. And set up camp fairly near the boat. I don't think they really represent a threat to us unless they can hit us in massive numbers - or perhaps in a trouble some environment like a jungle.

Ody they are normal American bald eagle size
A question for the DM:
The jungle we are likely going to be entering - how dense is it? Does it look dense enough that creatures that don't like the light could operate in its shadows even during what would normally be daylight? From what Peri could see the forest/jungle is thick. There are parts where you'll need to use swords and axes to cut through. Also she could not see the ground through the tops of the tress in most spots though the area around the beach where both the fire and lightening hit are clear. Basically you have a bigger beach area.
Also, do we have any sense of how many gibberlings we toasted? Easily in the range of a few hundred maybe more. Remember this is a medium sized island there could be up to 1000+ creatures still lurking. Also by now more from other parts of the island may have been drawn here by however they communicate..

Jungle fever
Anybody know a way to avoid going through the jungle?
Flying - but I don't know that we have the ability for everyone to do it. We could enlarge Peri again and go that route, but we'd still have to deal with those 6-legged things. They seem like they'd be vulnerable to a fireball or 3, but 100 is a lot of them. They might not be bad, but they did seem to come after poor little Peri. And such fireballs would certainly announce our presence, if the beach side firestorm hasn't already done so.
Sitting on the beach, setting a trap and wiping out the gibberlings seems kinda nasty, but what else can we do? Although Tann didn't answer my question about night lovers in the jungle directly (I think we'd have faced enough such creatures in the past) his description certainly implies that they could move around during the day. To me that indicated that we can't even assume that we have daylight to hunt them down. (Which, in its own way, is just as nasty as gibberling barbecue at the beach.)
Does any one see another option?
Could a mage invisibly fly close to the tower, get a look around, and then teleport us past the jungle? Could an enlarged Peri give them a lift while invisible to do so? They'd have to find a landing spot for the teleport spell and we'd still have to deal with those flying things once there. Plus, you know, whatever.

As The Party Wishes....
I amended my post if the group wants to try and wipe out the buggers first. It may take several days of retreating back the boat.
Any other thoughts????
