Well.........

Playing this game has made us think more. Choices to act are getting better. I have had to grow into Ulthok. I'd not played a character of this level before so I hadn't learned what you learn usually as you move through levels.

Now I take others suggestions and also go look up stuff. I'd say I have read each of our character's profiles over and over. I go out and look up how our magic items work so I know better their limits. I also go out and read about the potential monsters for a best guess at what to expect.

AND we have gotten lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!! so let's not get too cocky.

So what next? A Cleaning Cantrip? This is a lot of mud.
Does anyone think we should recheck the room in case to see if something showed up?

Mud...........

So are just "awash" in mud much like way a mud wrestler would look like or caked with a thickness that needs to peeled off?

Is the floor smeared with a say 1/8 inch layer of mud or is it ankle deep to impede movement?

I'd say if we find nothing to get us to s lower level of the tower in this room we return to main room. We may want to rest and recharge or select new spells to match our next room choice.

Water anyone

We could just go to the fountain and wash off . . . or maybe not.
I suppose we do need of know the volume of mud.

After that we should also examine the room again. The statues moved - maybe there was something under them. The floor is now covered in a semi-fluid. If there were any passages or opening under it, the mud might reveal that. Also, we should examine the room again - the freeing of the spirits and the moving of the statues might have changed something else also. So a research of everything.

If we find nothing, Lothor votes for the fountain room - he would put off the coffin room until the last. Although, I suspect that the passage down is through those boxes. Still, the idea doesn't appeal and I would prefer to be wrong.

Clean...........

Well Aliya, Sirene and Ulthok can each cast the cantrip clean.
Ulthok can gather everyone close in a 6'x6' area and cast it on the party to clean us. The mud should fall off to the floor.

Then Aliya and Sirene can clean the areas to search. So Nomad's ideas of search to find a likely spot is a good idea.

Mud

Mud is ankle deep for the most part and has leaked out into the hallway.

Ok.......

So Lothor has a ring of free action which will allow him to move freely and quickly to sear h the room again.

Ulthok and Cor will most impeded as ankle deep to humans is shine deep to them.

Search

True - his ring will let him move easily. He will search again. Don't clean until he has - let him see if the mud reveals anything.

I also noticed that we are missing a player for our ranger/cleric again. In looking at the posting for him - he has anklets that allow him to walk on any liquid surface without touching it. Does mud count? Since I'm curious about the mud itself revealing something, if it worked this would avoid disturbing the mud.

So, Tann, does mud count as liquid?

Search..........

Maybe we NPC Roan by having Cor or Rayne instruct him to research the room looking for new clues. Lothor could search too. Then the rest of us wait for Tann to tell us if anything is found. Then we clean those areas.

I'd say we go ahead and have Ulthok clean off the party first.

I am gone for the weekend (Friday to Monday) and won't have internet access during this time. I will try to post Monday evening when I get back.

Hmmm good question Nomad

I'd have to say no as mud to me is too thick to really be considered a true liquid.

Plans

So, assuming we have an uneventful rest while spellcasters regain spells (I know, never assume, but we have rested here uneventfully already.) what should we do next? There isn't much point in having Tann spend another week's post just saying "you walk for a week down the hallway to get to the room you have already seen." So, unless he jumps us with something, should we bring our posts up to what we do in the other room? Keep things moving.

Ok, if I'm right our options are:
1. Crypt room - Lothor votes NO
2. Main entrance - uhm, why?
3. Mud room - we could wrestle? But otherwise a waste of time.
4. The fountain. Lothor votes yes!

So what do we do there? Stone to mud the statues before anything begins? Throw in a coin? How valuable? Throw in something else? Stir it a bit? Wish for something? What? Do something with or about the tapestries? Statues became stone guardians, can old tapestries become something nasty? (Answer: yes, of course they can. But what?) What questions have I missed?

...

If we are going to rest, I think we should do it in the last place we did. I am worried that once we trigger the fountain room, we may also open up whatever is in the coffin room (the dungeon and the fountain may be the power holding the coffins sealed). I'd rather not be attacked while we are resting.

The Plan

Agreed - I think the plan was to stay in the crossroads room we have used as a resting spot in the past. Once rested we go on to the fountain room.
