So............
Unless you feel you need to reroll again to add the effect of Lothor on the beast before it gets to Ulthok, which could change his ability to act,Ulthok can do nothing more THIS round? Or did you mean he can do one non spell casting action now?

A few ideas . . .
I've got a few spells I can throw at it, I'm just trying to figure out which would be best.
Dismissal - can send an extraplanar creature back to its original plane. Can we tell if it IS from another plane?
Fireball, Flame Arrow, Lightning Bolt - I can do any of these
Wall of Ice - I could cast it, but would it also trap Ulthok? Would it trap me alone with it on this side of the ice?
Monster Summoning III - get something to keep it busy so we can kill it
Ray of Enfeeblement - does it work on large/giant critters?
Dimension Door - can I cast it to open on the floor below it so it falls through?
What do y'all think would be best?

Thoughts on thoughts
I've got a few spells I can throw at it, I'm just trying to figure out which would be best.
Dismissal - can send an extraplanar creature back to its original plane. Can we tell if it IS from another plane?
....This might be a good choice. No way to tell for sure but a decent bet.
Fireball, Flame Arrow, Lightning Bolt - I can do any of these
.....Those are the old stand-by mage spells.
Wall of Ice - I could cast it, but would it also trap Ulthok? Would it trap me alone with it on this side of the ice?
....With proper casting it should be able to trap the creature on the other side of the party. May need to wait for map.
Monster Summoning III - get something to keep it busy so we can kill it
.....Help is always good but I think it is focused on the person with the gems. Not a good idea to let it get them back. Our attacks and any others are not likely to make it change focus.
Ray of Enfeeblement - does it work on large/giant critters?
....It should but the creature might have a good save
Dimension Door - can I cast it to open on the floor below it so it falls through?
.....As the DM is fond of saying "try it and see"

Map and a question for Nomad.
Nomad by the post below you stated.....
"As the group headed out the door the conversation turned to where to go next. Lothor, always warry of what was behind them, kept an eye on THE ROOM and the tapestry until they were out."
So did you look around the room, or did you just keep your eye on the tapestry itself? And if you did keep your eyes on just it did, you walk backwards towards the door as you did so?

What would most people do?
The way I look at it, Lothor is an experienced campaigner and wouldn't just ignore an expected threat and turn his back. In places that are likely to be deadly (Say, for example, a crazy cyclopes' tower where he has already been attacked by the statuary) he would always be trying to keep a look out everywhere - but with special attention paid to those places most likely to cause trouble. So in this case I wrote that he was looking around, but specifically noted the tapestry because the tapestry and throne were the places that seem like the obvious source of any threat. So he would have been trying to not be oblivious to the whole room, but the area around the throne and tapestry would be the one place you could clearly say he would have been looking.
As for walking, it is a little hard to say. The way I think I would do it were I there isn't really walking backwards, which seems clumsy and dangerous, but rather walking sort of sideways - walking ahead, but with your body turned to the side so that you can look backwards. The idea is to not be caught by surprise and be ready to fight and give warning if needed.

So????
Can Ulthok do something, besides spell cast, or is he too stunned?
It looks like the creature covered some space really quickly to get that close to Ulthok after throwing him from the aisle to wall.
how close is the creature to Ulthok in feet?

Thank you.........
I thought so, but best to clarify.
With our 5.0 game tomorrow night and out of town visitors during the day I'll get my post up Sunday.
For those that I have been PMing with Ulthok will go with plan "A" so you can plan around that action.

Any change?
Tann - I haven't wanted to post anything because I wasn't sure if anything changed given Lothor's post. So, was he still caught flat footed?

Plan
I am inclined to agree, but since he specifically asked questions about what Lothor would be doing I was assuming that there was a plan to make a change. He's the DM, I'm more than willing to go with whatever.

Apologies Nomad
I'm really sorry I did not get back to you to answer your question. I hope you don't think I was ignoring you, I just got busy this week with RL.
Now for that clarification............
With all the debris littering the room to not have at least looked every few seconds to the path before you would have meant I would have had to make a number of dex type rolls to see if you fell. Plus the creature attacking happened so fast even if you had shouted a warning no one would have been able to attack before it reached Ulthok.
The only reason Aliya was able to hit it was she was rt there sword ready and the creature did not care about her. It wanted Ulthok for some reason until all the magic started flying and it knew it had to attack the spells coming at it at the main source, Sirene and Cor.
To everyone. If I don't get back to you right away on a question or a topic please do not think I'm ignoring you. Real life right now is busier for me then normal as Mom slowly gets better. I promise I will answer as fast as I can. Bear with me for right now. Thanks

No Problem
You have never made a habit of ignoring things before and given the history of this game, I know your not just letting it go. I just assumed you were busy and would get to it eventually.
