Ok...

I'm assuming that because I failed my willpower save that I'm determined to get this sword no matter what? Or are all these talks from the rest of the party giving me another save? I can play either way, just not sure how to proceed...

Notice the LOL... it is a joke

Oh, if it was a will power fail then why are we all taking and role playing, lightening bolt to the back of the head and lets get out of here.

To Gboy

No not another save per say as he really is NOT being forced to gain the sword by any outside force. From this point on its up to you how you handle the present situation as your not under any type of influence.

What failing your initial willpower save did in this situation, was it overpowered your common sense and ability to resist the urge to gain the sword spontaneously knowing how much good you could do with it by wielding it.
It states in the 2nd Edition Players Handbook that Paladins are taught from an early stage how much good they can do with a Holy Sword to them its a gift from thier god if one is found, and most spend thier lives looking for one.

So up to you how you respond to what the other party members are telling Conall.

????

How big is the hole? Is there anything on the other side that a rope could be tied to or tied around? Cynil wants to know since she can take a bird form and cross the way to fasten ad rope so others can cross safely.

How big is the hole? Its about the size of a large manhole about 10'-15' feet in a ragged circle.

Is there anything on the other side that a rope could be tied to or tied around? Yes the mound of rocks blocking the way forward, some have protruding portions that a rope could easily be tied to.

Cynil wants to know since she can take bird form and cross the way to fasten a rope so others can cross safely. With Cynil's abilty to change shape she could easily make it down the hole as a bird or insect herself to see how far or deep it goes.

Hope that helps.

Gee, thanks I didn't think of that but DM/Jo would have I am sure. As a bat she would not need light she could echo location. but prabatly be to small unless she changed into a Flying fox.large bat.

The time for giving thanks.

Kyle Westhem, Cleric of the Sea Goddess stands and lifts his tankard high, "Well it is that time of the year for some of us to enjoy the year past and present. For some of us to give thanks for all that we have had, do have, and hope to have in our lives. At times it might not seem like it, but I do give thanks for those people here at the Inn. Mostly those who have walked and still do walk with me in the realm of Trilogy. I also give thanks to the many other stories I watch unfold befor me every day here at the Inn. Many thanks to all." Kyle then drinks heavy from his tankard. When it is empty he gives out a loud roar, "Long live the Inn!"

Kyle then takes up his pack and mace, "Good people of the Inn, travel well and be safe. I will be close but very busy over the next few days and away from the Inn." with that he takes his leave of the Inn and enters the world of truly dark and light places. a realm of happy and sad times. A place well all call the real life.

To Keeper

OK technically your not underground at all but 5 miles above it inside a mountain.
However to answer the question you can tell that you and the party are roughly 3 miles from the mountains summit and 5 miles from the mountains base. Both halves of the tunnel are even, with no slopping

Q and A time.

OK, Mr Tril.... need to know what the ceiling of this cavern looks like. Is it naturally formed or was it a cave in that closed this place off to the outside world.
