To Odyson

Now I would guess that when the spider splattered the party looks up and sees the spiders starting to drop or are they still too high to see. If they look up yes they will be able to see the rather large spiders descending.

I would think that the group on the shelf might be spreading a warning too. That depends on if they are watching behind them or concentrating on getting down the narrow walkway without falling. This is happening to the rear of Cor, Althena, and Haila.

info about the dinner bell...

Maggot cast one of his magic missiles spells. Some one has my disc so I am unable to do proper research on the spell but that is the one I cast. As to how many of my little dragons upon butterfly wings I have I am unsure but I have picked two targets.

Now for a little something different...

Darn

You beat me to it.

My question is, If I throw my +1 Axe of Hurling, would I be able to retrieve it?

I will post tomorrow either way.

First I have offered to bring your disc back to you but ya keep putting me off so its your fault old man.
As for how many you have you get the full 5 missiles. I assume they are the Dragon w/ butterfly wing thingi ah ma jiggers

Wrathleader here is the full description to the Axe of Hurling.
Axe of Hurling: This appears to be a normal hand axe. With familiarity and practice, however, the possessor will eventually discover that the axe can be hurled up to 180 feet, and it will return to the thrower in the same round whether or not it scores a hit. Damage inflicted by the magical throwing attack is twice normal (2d6 vs. S or M, 2d4 vs. L), with the weapon's magical bonus added thereafter. (For example, an axe of hurling +3 will inflict 2d6+3 points of damage vs. S- or M-sized creatures and 2d4+3 points of damage vs. creatures of size L if it hits the target after being thrown.) The axe will cause only normal damage (plus its magical bonus) when used as a hand-held weapon.
After each week of using the weapon, the possessor has a one-in-eight chance of discovering the full properties of the weapon. In any event, the magical properties of the weapon will be fully known to the possessor after eight full weeks of such familiarization.

I also went ahead and added the description to your character sheet under the weapon.

Confused....

I thought morphing heals me...once I morphed into the groundhog, that I would be healed and not have damage. As far as I know I didn't get any damage after morphing cause I was too low....

You are semi-correct

Every time you morph you heal 10-60% or 1d6x10% of damage taken.

I apologize for having been slow to update the character sheets as I have been sick all day, but I will try to do so tonight.

Ok Flirt you recovered all but 5 hit points due to shapechanging.

I also adjusted everyone's Memorized spells who used such this past round. Check your character sheets for more info.

Yikes...........

Yikes 30 HP, that spider guts must have been more than just gooy.

BTW there are a couple of Ulthok's items I didn't find.
What is the Scroll of Tattoo and Potion of Master Thievery?

Kyle, if you need a spell description, because you don't have your disc, I'd be glad to PM it to you. I have the 2.0 PH, DMG and Monster Manual in .pdf and /or .doc form so I can copy and paste them for you.

I built my own spell book for this game as part of my character sheet.

I know it's a little late but here's Magic Missiles.

Magic Missile /
Range: 60 yds. + 10 yds./level Components: V, S
Duration: Instantaneous Casting Time: 1
Area of Effect: 1-5 targets Saving Throw: None

Use of the magic missile spell creates up to five missiles of magical energy that dart forth from the wizard's fingertip and unerringly strike their target. This includes enemy creatures in a melee. The target creature must be seen or otherwise detected to be hit, however, so near-total concealment, such as that offered by arrow slits, can render the spell ineffective. Likewise, the caster must be able to identify the target. He cannot direct a magic missile to "Strike the commander of the legion," unless he can single out the commander from the rest of the soldiers. Specific parts of a creature cannot be singled out. Inanimate objects (locks, etc.) cannot be damaged by the spell, and any attempt to do so wastes the missiles to no effect. Against creatures, each missile inflicts 1d4+1 points of damage. For every two extra levels of experience, the wizard gains an additional missile--he has two at 3rd level, three at 5th level, four at 7th level, etc., up to a total of five missiles at 9th level. If the wizard has multiple missile capability, he can have them strike a single target creature or several creatures, as desired.

To Odyson once more.

I built my own spell book for this game as part of my character sheet. Ok what do you mean ‘your own’ spell book. The spell book listed on the character sheet on the Trilogy War Character Thread is his only spell book at this time. If you created your own I’d like to see it before I possibly dismiss it to give it consideration.

Scroll of Tattoo When a Wizard or Thief, who is at least 10th Level reads this scroll, a dark blue & black tattoo of a dagger appears on the characters forearm and the scroll dissolves. At the time of the casting of the spell the caster suffers 1d4 points of burning damage. By placing his hand on the hilt of the dagger tattoo and saying the words “Para Mi” the weapon becomes a real +3 dagger. To return it to his or her body the thief must place it in the same area of the forearm as before saying the words “De Mi”. The dagger again becomes a normal tattoo. The tattoo and magic are permanent once cast, however if the dagger ever leaves the possession of its owner it dissolves and is gone forever. In addition it must always be in contact with the owners skin. Therefore the owner cannot throw it, hold it in a gloved hand, give it away or drop it.

Potion of Master Thievery. This potion gives the Thief a temporary increase in thief Levels if he or she has less the 13 Levels of experience. The effects of the potion last 5d6 rounds and damage first comes off the temporary hit points gained due to the increased Levels. The number of levels gained depends on the Thief’s base level at time of drinking as shown below.

Level of thief/Levels Gained/added hit points/Increase in each skill.
1st-3rd Levels Gained
5
Added hit points
5d6
Increase in each skill.
+20%
4th-6th Levels Gained
4
Added hit points
4d6+1
Increase in each skill.
+16%
7th-9th Levels Gained
3
Added hit points
3d6+2
Increase in each skill
+12%
10th-12th Levels Gained
2
Added hit points
2d6+3
Increase in each skill
+8%

Ok just a heads up to all players if there is a magical item on your character sheet that you are unable to find a description for in the DM's guide or Tome of Magic it most likely comes from my 4 book set of the Encyclopedia Magica. So please do not hesitate to ask for a description of such an item if that is the case.

A book of Spells......

The Spell Book is built of the spells listed on the character sheet. I put it together so I'd know what they do and how to cast them. It was easier to put them in one place then to keep going back to the PH. It's now an enhanced character sheet, with spell descriptions, item and potion descriptions.

So if Ulthok finds any more then I'll add those then.

I've played mostly clerics so I have the 3 Priests Spell
Compendiums but not the Wizard's spells. That must be why I could find the Scroll or Potion. I have most of the Specialty Handbooks too (Bard, Barbarian, ect.)

Co-leaders - NAY

Oh no, Alasdair took leadership and he can put up with the constant bickering, random hotheadedness and overall disorganization that is this party; Cor is going back to worrying about more important things like where to refill his ale flask.

Enjoy my friend.

Derp....

Well I was hoping to see how folks set up getting new spells but no one seemed to do anything. So my bad for waiting too long. I guess I should have asked.

I was wanting to add Chain Lightening, but it's lvl 6 and their was no number of 6th spells in Ulthok's character sheet.

So would he have to give up something to have memorized it?

That's easy

It's because your 24,250 xp's away from 12th LvL in Mage. You get 1 6th LvL spell at that LvL.

You have the right amount of spells for 11th LvL and your first and second LvL spells are doubled from 4 to 8 due to a Ring of wizardry. as for how getting me spells is done NORMALLY the player picks them and posts them here and then I add them to that players character sheet. Check your sheet if you want a different spell let me know THIS week and I will change them. That also goes for everybody as Odyson is the next youngest, in terms of play time in Trilogy, I'll give you all another chance to change your spells thanks to him.

Get me those spells!!

Derp.........

Well that explains it. Duh!

I forgot Ulthok could have spells in his book that he can't use yet.

I'll have the spell mix tomorrow night.

Was I the only one to guess that was something else out there?

Did the party miss an alternate route?

Inquiring minds want to know.
