Booooooooooooooooreddddd....

I'm bored a lot which I find frustrating. Lately it's been less boring at home but sometimes it's unbearable. Not sure what my friends are up to, haven't talked much since the beginning of summer. It's just... boring.

Anyone have any advice?

(EDIT: I have been practicing the drums lately though and that's always fun. Me and my friend were thinking about forming a band actually... next year. Uggh...):-/

Sorry you're bored....

I'm an old guy so bored is not an issue any more. I do volenteer work and regular which keeps me busy. I'm a Scout leader and if you're a guy between 11 and 18 that's a good plce to find interesting stuff to do that came add to your life skills. We have a riot year around doing all kinds of stuff. If you check out a troop and it's not what you're looking for try another. Each troop has a personality and interest, keep looking until you find one that matches you interest. They are there. Yah, I'm bias, both my son went through and i did it back in the 60's. Summer can be slow but if you look, you can find stuff. Don't wait for stuff to find you.

Sounds like fun.

Too bad you're in Ohio or I would join. I'm not going to reveal my actual age but I'm between 11 and 18. My firends have a troop but I can't always get a ride and I sleep a lot in the morning and stay up late at night (til like 11 or 12) so it's not much of an option. I'm not lazy I just do whatever whenever because school is out and I'm home alone all day so...

EDIT: Is your Scout Troop going well?

You, my friend, are ensconced within the hallowed halls of the Red Dragon Inn. Boredom--is not an option. Not. An. Option.

I hereby banish your boredom.

Facelick? Who said facelick? I know I heard it!!!

Haaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiii-YAH!!! *ka-sproing! ka-tackle! ka-faaaaaacelick* ;P

Boredom, you says? Well... there's a topic we're all familiar with, isn't it? *nods* Can't cover much beyond what Ody and Pit have already covered as far as advice goes (find new and interesting things to do, hang around the Inn and whip up some mischief, practice the heck out of pounding the skins and see if you can't get a band mustered before next year... putting a good band together from scratch can be an exercise in 'holy-god what have I gotten myself into' and, thus, a real boredom killer), or, you know, every now and again, just sit back, relax, and enjoy the boredom, itself... Being between 11 and 18, you may not realize this but, every now and again, boredom can be a blessing... nothing to do, no one to interrupt, just you, your imagination, and a rather satisfying quiet spot in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Ahhhhh!

If all else fails... run with scissors! That always gets things going...

Troop is Doing well.....

Thank you for asking, yes our Troop is doing well. They just got back from a week of summer camp. They are planning a Whitewater Rafting trip in August. We try to be active and do "Something" every month. They went to Lincoln Caverns in PA last month.

I would hope that if you contacted a local Troop you most likely already know some of guys there. Getting a ride should not be too tough, someone could pick you up on their way to the meeting. We do that in our troop if someone needs a ride. You just need to ask. To find a local troop lookup the Boy Scout Office in the phone book, call them and tell them you're interested in find a troop near to you. They can provide the phone number of unit leaders. Talk it over with your parents to be sure they approve, we are a family organization. Then if they are fine with it you or they can contact a leader to find out more about when and where they meet. They may arrange a meeting at your home to meet you and your parents if your parents are not able to attend the regular meeting. As I said before, you need to find things to do, they won't find you. Hope you look more into it, you may be surprized by what you find.

Thank You

I appreciate all the advice guys. This website is very fun. Unlike most forums that are based off of games, this one I keep returning to.

P.S: It's good to hear your troop is going well Odyson.
