Topic: An Evil in Orlane
Subject: Group 2

Aright fellows, let's move out. We'll go to the east of town. We should walk in a causal non-threating manner. We'll do a little bit of small back and forth. The person who is not talking should do quick scans and then join back into the conversation. Make mental notes on the outlay and anything that seems out of the norm.

Group 2 heads out to east of town. They will walk in a group and carry on with small talk. They will take turns doing quick scans and look for anything out of the ordinary.

Now where had that Deathstalker fellow gone? Doogan tells group 2 that Deathstalker had told him he was heading to the Temple via the south road. Doogan also tells the group that he saw Deathstalker head out to the east. He suggests that the group start off to the east and scout out the town.

Doogan packs his gear up and waits for his group to head out. He has his weapons and shield currently put away. If he encounters something/one that would concern him, he will pull out his shield then battle axe if need be. If he encounters something/one that he would consider dangerous, then he'll pull out his battle axe then shield.

Subject: Original Plan

The original plan was:
Group 1: Gunther, along with Sentinal, Oriel, and Fandil will attempt to speak with the worried looking farmer.

Group 2: Aelbric, Garrus, Doogan, Katai, and Elkin will head towards the Temple and see if there is any type of command structure in this town, and perhaps procure us lodgings for the evening.

Group 3: Kyuss, Haiden, Stings, and Valerus will wander through town taking note of the abandoned houses and looking for anything else out of the ordinary. Kyuss can in turn look for any tracks or signs that may seem out of the ordinary for such a small farming village.

We should stick the the plan and have group 1 now that they are finshed, head to the mayor. The other groups should continue as planned. Remember none of us know about Deathstalker's encounter.

Deathstalker told me that he was going to meet back up with group 2.

I think we should stay in the 3 groups for now and meet up later in the day. Staying at both inns is probably a good idea also.

Subject: Doogan is craving action or ale

After standing around the wagon and waiting, Doogan becomes a little restless. What could they be talking about? He takes out his wineskin and takes a small drink. I could sure go for a cold ale about now he thinks to himself.
"These human folk are sure strange." he whispers in dwarven tongue to Elkin.
"Valerus, are we still going into groups or are we going to wait some more?"
Doogan pulls out his shield and sets his battle axe on the wagon. The axe is within reach. Doogan begins scanning the area and takes another drink.

Doogan stands by the wagon and is scanning the area. His shield is in his offhand while his battle axe is within his reach on the wagon. If Valerus asks to split up into groups, he will go with his group.

Subject: Doogan in standby mode

Though I’ve playing many, many adventures, I haven’t played this one.

Doogan is going to standby and wait to see what happens with the 1st group. Roleplaying patience is probably boring at times. I’m sure there’s going to be plenty of action up coming. Patience though not the most exciting way to play is probably the best move at this point.

Subject: Plan sounds good to me

I'm on board with Darque's plan. I agree with Nomad about waiting for Hammer to talk to farmer before splitting up.

I also agree with Wretch in regards to know which questions we want asked. As I stated earlier we should be brief and to the point. I think it's safe to say that these people are on edge. A mixed group of adventures (strangers) coming into their town and interrogating probably won't go over well. A comforting Paladin offering protection IMO is probably the best route to take.

I think the majority of the party should agree on what we do next and let Darque post.

My thoughts are to have the Paladin and one other human approach the farmer. I think the Paladin would probably be best at diplomacy. His greeting should be brief and to the point.

Introduce himself.
Offer comfort and protection.
What information does he have in regards to the disappearances?
Is there anything we can do to assist him?

Once the Paladin gets a response he should return back to the party. We can all take in the information and go from there.

Subject: Darque

Sorry for replying so late. It's been one of those weeks. I'm cool with Darque being the spokesperson.

As far as marching order goes, I'm fine with being up front. Doogan is a tank. Also, Elkin (Hombre's Dwarven Cleric) wasn't in the marching order. I'd say putting him in the middle of the group would probably be best.

Subject: The Clan Hemrock reports for duty

“My name is Doogan Hemrock from the Clan Hemrock”

A stout dwarf makes his way out the crowd. Standing just under 4’ tall, his body width almost matches his height. He is now standing in the middle of the room. His massive arms hang down crossed. His left forearm bares a tattoo of an axe while his right arm bares the tattoo of a hammer. The two tattoos appear to have been drawn to represent a crossed axe and hammer. His red hair is cut very short with 4 long thin braids. His beard for some odd reason is also cut very short. His Chainmail looks worn. A shield and battle axe are strapped to his back. A war hammer and hand axe are secured to his belt. His voice is deep though you can hear some youth in his voice.

“I gladly accept. Let it be known that I will be up front during battle. Stay clear of my vertical blades once the battle begins. My fellow Clansmen, Elkin Hemrock will accept as well. He has been delayed due to matters from our deity. He will be ready by sunset. Now, my throat is feeling dry. I’m off to see what kind of ale Hochoch has to offer.

The dwarf takes two pouches of gold and exits. On his way out he looks back in and says……..

“If anyone wishes to join me, the first round is on me.”

Doogan accepts the offer for Elkin and himself. He makes his way to a local pub to sample some ale. After a few drinks and stories, he finds some lodging and retires for the night.

Just a thought, but if we all had IMs going would that help with the conversation side of the adventure? I could see how it could also be a distration if too much talk was going on and people not paying attention to the board.

Subject: Question # 3

Hammer as a Paladin you're probably not going to be using a blowgun. For the most part I believe you'll be melee and avoid ranged weapons. The two weapons that come to mind most in IMO are a Longsword and a Lance(check with Trip on much gold you'll start with since you'll need a horse for the Lance to be effective). When you get a chance you should read (if you haven't already) the description of Paladins in the Players Handbook. Paladins are fun to play but carry some some restrictions.

I'm playing a dwarven fighter so I'm sure it's going to be the two of us at the front of the party dealing and taking alot of damage.
