I'm waiting on a Black Panther avatar to be approved but...it seems to be slow coming.

Subject: Taking it all in...

I sit in the corner of the room, unnoticed by anyone there, taking in the sights an sounds of The Red Dragon Inn. There are quite a few regulars that frequent this establishment. Again, I don't feel any sort of animosity. The women all appear, at first glance, to be beautiful. It remains to be seen how their attitudes and personalities will sway that initial observation. The one they call Meri looks to be under the weather today. The woman called Reralae looks exotic in her purple/blue kimono. Besides the swords and the staff, which I'd be willing to bet was magical, I notice Reralae carries books, ink and quill. Is she too a scribe like myself? The soothing sounds of Dragon Mistresses harp is the perfect backdrop for this setting. Her voice is angelic. There is something about the newest female that comes in. Lyskhala. Something sensual. Maybe it is the cleavage showing. Maybe something else. I make a mental note (not necessarily of the cleavage) and move on.
The men are equally as good-looking, for the most part, in their own special way. This one called Almerin-is he an actual King of toads?--seems quite upset about this missing birthday cake of Alacrity. Alacrity must be someone of importance in this circle of friends. I notice the man who calls himself Draco leaves his belongings at the empty table by the door as if he trusts the fellow occupants, but yet he walks and look around as if he is new to the place. He has been at the tile game for sometime, apparently enjoying himself. I make note of the scruffy man who enters, clattering as he walks. He doesn't speak to anyone but seems to notice everything at once. There is the foreign looking gentleman, with the long ponytail, Sibelius, who I noticed sidestepped just in time as the cake thief flew overhead. He then tended to him quickly while Meri made a sign. I recognize Grugg. I had met him on the road coming to The Red Dragon Inn. He didn't seem to notice me but that's fine. My job here is to observe. I smile at the punishment the cake thief receives and the sign Meri placed in his hands -- "Don't mess with Grugg."
I decide to put away my writings of The Red Dragon Inn for the moment and work on the story I have been working on for years. I reach into my pouch--wait! It's empty! How can that be? I search all around the table. Nothing! Oh no! I can't have lost all that research! I suddenly remember I had kept telling myself to make a hard copy--a backup copy-- of my story before something happened to it. I also remember putting it off. Years of writing and rewriting! Lost because I didn't make a copy! I curse aloud, gathere my gear and quickly exit the Inn!

Merideth and Reralae are feeling my vibe. Nice work ladies. Good example for the other patrons.

The first thing I noticed as I entered the quaint inn was the sweet aroma of Barad stew- a stew made with spices that can only be found deep in the caves of the Kharolis Mountain range.
As my eyes adjusted in the dimly lit room, I looked around at my surroundings. The room was clean and tidy. Sturdy, wooden tables were sporadically placed throughout, with equally sturdy chairs around them. A long table sat parallel to the cozy fireplace on my right side. Across the room from the fireplace was a long, oak bar-well oiled and clean. Behind it there were shelves, cluttered with bottles. Different sizes and shapes, the bottles were filled with liquids of various colors. A human barkeep whistled as he cleaned glasses while an attractive, exotic looking barmaid served drinks to two half-elves sitting across the bar from her. Along the far wall from where I stood another long table sat in front on a large bay window. The spectacular view of the snow capped Kharolis Mountains filled most of the view.
Immediately to my left, along the same wall as the door I came in, a staircase headed to an upper level. There were numerous doors up there, each with a wooden sign attached to it. (I would later learn that those doors lead to the different forums that the inn offered access to.)
Back on the main floor, I watched the barmaid exit through a door behind the bar, which I presumed lead the kitchen, the source of the great smelling stew.
I strolled around the room, observing the different classes and races of people, chatting and enjoying each others company. Five men (of at least three different races) sat around a table playing a tile game I wasn’t familiar with.
“Want to sit in?” One asked, smiling up at me.
“No thanks. I’ll just watch, if that’s okay,” I replied back.
“Not a problem. Always room for one more if you change your mind.”
I watched them for a few minutes more, enjoying the friendly banter that passed across the table as they played. I found an empty table in the corner of the room. I sat and looked around again. The inn had a warm, inviting ambiance about it. I decided this was a good place to sit back and relax. I pulled out my parchment and writing stick, anxious to meet, learn and write about the friendly patrons of The Red Dragon Inn.

Okay, here's where my mind is at. Since almost everything associated with RDI is within our imaginations, I had to put RDI itself into perspective as well. I know its a "web based meeting place" but in my mind, it has substance. It has smell. It has atmosphere. It is how I, personally, picture the Red Dragon Inn. If anyone is feeling my vibe to add to it, feel free. I would love to have someone "right there" with me.
Thank you for your support and welcome to my world.

Subject: Seem to have lost my way

(sorry guys and gals, getting all the stupid questions out of the way)
I seem to have lost my way. Is The Red Dragon Inn located in the city of Bayris? Or one of the other fine cities of Audalis? Or a different land altogether? It seems I dozed while upon my horse and missed the "Welcome to ----" sign. When I awoke, I was already within city limits and came to the most likely place--an Inn. I like the vibe of the RDI and once I get my bearings, I can settle in to writing about this wonderful place and the wonderful people that patron it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, again, in advance.

Thanks for the info, Almerin and Hammer. In RL, I am currently writing a fantasy story. I have been writing stories for years and enjoying fantasy for years...this is my first stab at combining the two. I stumbled upon Audalis while searching for a town name generator. (which is SWEET, by the way!) My imagination is always working overtime. I could get some great ideas from Audalis. (Not plagiarizing, of course!) so if you all don't mind, I will search around the land and set up a small scribing studio and stay out of everyone's way. I will do more research before asking questions, most of my answers can probably be found.
Thanks

Greetings, good people. I have stumbled upon your site and the land of Audalis. I am new here. Please tell me, is this an "onsite game"? Or is it the site of a RPG game such as D&D? I was reading some information but I can't decipher if I need to be actively, physically playing an RPG game to profit from this site.
Thank you in advance.
