Subject: checking it out

I'm still working on trying to figure out what I want to do but I am interested. So far I have found the link offered to check out the game, but it happens to be the errata. I was hoping to find more in depth on the game. I'm still looking.

I'm going to look up the character sheet a bit later. I got some things to do now. It seems interesting though. I do have a few questions though. Are there any humans yet, and when does the game start?

Subject: I wanna play a sci fi game

Hey everyone! I was kind of gone for a while. I let life get the best of me. Sorry Steelight. I never meant to drop out on you. Anyway!
I'm hoping to find a sci-fi type game to join up with, or perhaps a sci-fi fantasy mix. I'd prefer free form but I know they don't do as well.

If there isn't one out there running I might try to get my old game going again. M.V. Solstice if you wanna check it out.

So either way if someone needs a player for a game or is interested in me starting mine back up....let me know please. Thanks!!

Airion was tired of walking. In the very recent past he had been through hell, and had not much recovery. Now he was on a journey with people whose skills he wasn't sure of, whose trust he wasn't sure of. He figured he woudl make the best of it, despite everything. Perhaps this could be the beginning of a few friendships.

Arion was startled when the voice entered his head, but he was strangely a bit at ease as well. As the voice was giving them their directions and reassuring them, he reached into his pouch and began rubbing the strange medallion between his thumb and finger.

It seemed silence was the status quo for the journey and for now Airion didn't mind. As the others began moving along the newly revealed path he followed , still covering the rear of the group. despite the assurance they were safe he still kept his eyes open for any danger.

Daleel was glad that he was able to hide and quickly dispatch the trailing guard. Now he stood off against two others. Perhaps a fight they expected to win. Daleel was hoping the fates were on his side. He raised his sword preparing for the two to close. His eyes calmly watched them both waiting for a tell that would give away their first move. Ou tof the corner of his eye he noticed something large dropping from the roof.

A small grin crept across his face as the guards closed in.

Glad the ordeal at the gate was over and even mre joyed at being out of that damn city, Airion let out a sigh of relief.

Altough, he tensed up and his hand gripped his dagger as soon as he heard a voice and the word "stop". He only slightly turned his head as the rest of the group came to a stop and Kyara received the letter. (assuming contents is shared...)

"More vague information." Airion said with a sarcastic tone. "I trust not the shadows, but I have a keen respect for them. Hopefully, we can figure this all out soon."

The party started off again and Airion followed. "we should have someone scout out ahead on our path just to be safe. I'll bring up the rear. I'm keeping the disguise on for now and would recommend the same, at least until we know we are safe."

Subject: Daleel ...... ambush time

The commotion from the soldiers set the halfling in motion. It sounded as though there were at least two of them running towards them. He quickly made it to the side of the office area. Pressing his body up against the wall he drew his sword and positioned himself a few feet away from the corner edge. His hopes were that with the dwarf standing ready for a fight, and an immediate target for the soldiers he could easily get behind them and attack. So, he slowed his breathing and waited for them to breach the corner....

With the distraction and sense of urgency, the others stared shuffling the slaves out onto the roof. They moved them off the roof and into the alleyway. As slaves wwere moving by Daleel slipped in somewhere in the middle. He didn't want to be completely noticed if they were discovered. It would give him a better chance of surprising their enemy.

Considering the circumstances, the small group of guildmembers were working well in moving the slaves. However being in the middle of the group Daleel could tell some of the slaves were concerned and worried. He tried to reassure them that everything would be fine, but he wasn't so sure of that himself.

For now he had to follow his fellow team members and be ready to act if the need arose.

Iauran was intimidated by the wasteland. It seemed to go on forever. He was also rather surprised. So far the trip through the wastes had been rather uneventful. Based ont he stories he heard he had been expecting to fight through tooth and nail.

He knew not to let his guard down though. Things could go bad very quickly. The rest of the group was settling in to wait out the night. Watch rotations had already been chosen, and he had one of the middle watches. Before everyone fell asleep Iauran addressed his companions.
"I think we are doing well so far. Hopefully tomorrow will be the same. Just make sure everyone is attentive and vigilant. I still expect trouble sometime before we exit the wastes. Sleep well."

Subject: supplies.....?

Airion sat and listened to the conversation between the other members of the rag tag group. It seems they were discussing a supply list.

He had slept well considering the events of the last few days. Currently, his stomach was growling. He rose and made his way to the kitchen area. He grabbed a fa few things to eat and returned to sit at the table.

Between bites he added his thoughts to the conversation. "It seems I still have most of my equipment and supplies. It would be nice to have at least ten days rations, and a quiver of arrows. It would also be helpful if there was a place to refill my waterskin."

After eating Arion stood up and walked to one of the boarded windows. Looking through the gaps he tried to get a look outside. (Assuming he can see anything and especially the sky) "We may want to get a move on. We have about two hours until our escape from this city"

Subject: Daleel run away or stay ....

The scene Daleel saw was not a good one. Luckily it did not seem that any of the soldiers had yet seen him. Now he had a decision to make. He could jump off the roof now and run away, or he could stay and risk his life.

He slowly and carefully made his way back to the window where the others were waiting. He whispered up to whoever was waiting by the window. "About twelve soldiers, six with bows aimed at warehouse, no commander that I see. We should move quickly. Perhaps Echo can create some sort of distraction."

He waited below the window for an answer and to grab the ladder if they handed it out to him. It was really risky but it had to work. They really had no other choices.

Airion rose from the corner he was sitting in and walked over to the table. He picked up the small silver symbol in his hands and examined it. It was interesting but he did not recognize it. He picks up the parchment and reads it ..."All has been arranged.....May the shadows protect you"

Running the words through his head he tries to piece something together. Unfortunately there is nothing there. "It seems as though these are our instructions to get out of the city which I don't recommend we be late for. I have a feeling something has been arranged at the south gate. The last line sounds like something that may have come from the Illurian clergy but I don't recognize this symbol." Airion lays the parchment back down on the table and quickly pockets the symbol. "I am sorry I cannot be of anymore help. We all want answers, but it seems the only way we will get them is to continue where we are being led and to survive. Eventually our answers will come."

He walks back over to the corner and lays down. "For now I agree with the Umbral, we should rest."

Iauran listened to both Kitara and Sorgoth. It seemed they both had good ideas.

On one hand us being in the riverbed with a constant light source would allow us to move quickly. However, if it started to rain we could be in some serious trouble. Kitara is corect as well, moving in the darkness and quitely right now is our greatest advantage. I think I have an idea.

Iauran noticed that the others were making their way up the embankment. Sticking together would benefit them more than getting ahead of each other. He quickly moved to catch up with Kitara and bring her back to the group.

(Once everyone is gathered together) "First off I think we should take a break to rest. Right now the storm isn't bad, but it could get worse. If that happens being stuck down there could have been fatal. When we start moving again, I'll take the lead. I'd like Shenek to follow me, Sorgoth next, Kitara, Avriel, and Gosk cover our backs." H elooked around at his companions as he spoke. "This puts our better sighted members pread out and being able to help those who can't see as well. Right now the lighning is helping us but we don't know how long it will last. Keep your eyes open for some possible shelter or a place we can rest in case the storm gets worse. Sorgoth, if we absolutely have to we'll use your light spell, but I think we should hold for now."

Iauran stood up, stretched, and adjusted his gear. "Is everyone ready? Let's continue on."

So I was really excited about this game. Unfotunately all my characters have dropped out except two. I wish I could say I can go on but it's kind of difficult. Of course I could NPC everyone but then I don't think that would be very fun.

So for now the game is on pause. I will try again at a later date to revive it. Hopefully it'll have a better run then. Keep your eyes open. Thanks!

Iauran agreed with Kitara. Being down in the riverbed was probably not the best idea if the storm did let loose any rain.

He nodded to Kitara and motined to the others to try to move up the embankment. He slowly started to move himself angling his way up. With the sparse light from the lightning and the dangerous footing it was not easy.

Hopefully the others were doing well. The storm was unnerving Iauran. Hopefully they could find a spot to rest once they were out of the riverbed.

How could I forget the way I came in? I've got to pull it together or I'm going to end up on the long end of someone's sword.

He worked his way up the ladder. Moving between the slaves and his companions, he quickly made his way over to the window he had come in. "I'll go out first. I've got a smaller profile and may be able to get a better view without being seen."

With that he slips out the window and onto the roof of the office.

(OOCaleel's intention is to quickly survey the area to get an idea of what they are up against and possible escape routes. His best idea is to head into the alley. If it is clear he will signal for others to follow.)

Subject: and now he is the last

Airion sat in the corner of the small safe house. He had gone through his belongings and found everything to be in order. He donned his armor and placed his weapons in their proper places.

A routine scouting mission. Things gone horribly wrong. The last of my companions left to an unknown fate. My mission not yet complete.

His thoughts were racing and he wasn't sure where to turn. The look Ele had given them as tehy escaped was burned into his memory. He had lost so many others. Perhaps she would just be recaptured and he could rescue her later.

He had been vaguely listening to the conversation going on around him. He had finally caught the name of the orc kin. At least now he could try to work on trusting him.

A second man appeared out of one of the rooms. Was he really hired to help them? By who? Of course they didn't even know what their mission was now. Who was pulling all theses strings?

Airion resigned himself to just sit and listen for now. Somehow he was woven into all this intrigue. He would never make it back to Bevaris until this was over.

After hearing what the orc kin just said Airion became a bit worried. There was no way they could take on elite guards. "This may require a change of plan. I think running may just be our best course of action now." Turning toward the orc kin, "Since you seem to know the layout were are going to rely on you to lead us through."

Airion grabs two sets of the manacles and trusses up the guard one manacle on each wrist and the other end attached to the opposite ankle. "That should hold him for a while."

Airion had seen the chests but at first was interested in a defense. He woudln't have time to pick the locks on every one. He was thinking that Heironymus was right in trying to break them open. "Kyara, orc kin, lets try to break theses chests open. Hopefully something useful is inside. Once Heironymus has Ele stable we will make our escape."

Subject: Daleel tries to organize and plan

Daleel wasn't so sure about what to do. He was actually glad when Argent decided to start pulling the slaves out. He wanted to help but figured he would just end up getting in the way of the two dwarven brothers. He looked toward Echo who seemed to be standing guard. Daleel decided to step back from the cellar opening and help get the people into an organized group. "Please come this way. I'll need men here, women and children here. Weregoing to get you out of here but we need your cooperation. We are going to need to move quickly and quietly when we are ready to go."

Where are we going to go though. We can't run straight to our destination. Thoughts started saturating Daleel's brain. They needed to get to a safe area after they left this warehouse. Somewhere that the cleric could heal some of the wounded. Where they could figure out what their next move was. As for marching a baker's dozen of slaves around town. He had a thought on that as well. First that had to get them out of here though.

Speaking to the group as they worked. "If anyone has a safe house we can move there and regroup, and I have an idea for moving around. We can use the premise that we are conducting a slave transfer, at least once we get a bit away from this warehouse."

Subject: Iauran addresses questions

"Sorgoth, my friend thank you for the inspiring toast." Iauran said after listening to everyone. "Unfortunately, the same as most of you, I only know of the rumors of the wasteland. A dead area haunted by ghosts of the past. What living creatures do reside there are told to be deadly and experienced hunters. The terrain is harsh and unforgiving." He took a moment to review his thoughts before continuing. "Horses would be too expensive for us to obtain, and woudl probably only hinder us anyway. As far as I know there are no maps of the wastelands. I would recommend we get some poison antidotes. Any plans we do make to deal with the denizens of the wastelands would probably be useless. We just have to stick together and use our heads."

Iauran took a final sip from his wine and set it down on the table. He thought he had addressed everyones questions. It was time to get moving. "I second the recommendation that we each shop at a different shop. If questions are asked perhaps a good cover would be making a journey to Bevaris to visit family. This journey will be tough and in my opinion the travel through the wastelands should be the worst of it. Once we are through we should be able to travel along the road."

"If there are no more questions or concerns we should probably get going."

Subject: a little info

Iauran was holding the meeting with his comrades in his home. Earlier in the day he had retrieved the weapon and it was sitting on his desk. Sorgoth was the last of the group to arrive. When he entered the questions began. Iauran started to soak them in and formulate the answers. After Kitara's insight, he decided to speak up. He was a bit unnerved by Kitara staring at him, but he did not show it.

He stepped over to his desk and picked up the small ebony box to show to his comrades. "First of all what we carry is a weapon. I do not know what it is. There are no instructions not to open it, but I wouldn't attempt to try. I was able to discern the presense of warding glyphs on the box. They are very strong abjurations, but are beyond my expertise." He took a moment to set the box back down before continuing on. "We are going to be initially travelling through the wasteland, off the paths. If the stories prove true then the road will not provide for us, we will be the provisions, we will be prey for the creatures living there." Iauran's thoughts wandered for a moment to the horrors he had heard about the wastelands. "However, I do agree that with what you have said Sorgoth. I am guessing our trip will take about a week and a half, if we make haste. I recommend to all of you to get some extra rations. When we are done here we should all go make our purchases. We will meet at the gate to the city an hour later and begin our journey."

Iauran unstopped a decanter sitting on his desk and poured himself a glass of wine. "Would anyone else like a glass?"

I looked over everyone's equipment and it seems as if we probably have most of the things we will need. I do think we may need more trail rations.
We are on a time sensitive mission so I guess my advice is to purchase more rations and anything else you think you may need.
I am also open for input as to what some of us should purchase if anyone has any ideas. We are supposed to work as a well knit team.
I have been told the trip should take about one and a half weeks if we don't stop too much.
I am going to assume that all the members of the group are present at my home and Sorgoth was the last one to arrive.
My first post is going to be somewhat short to answer the questions already posed and to allow others to jump in.
