Peryl skidded to a stop a few meters behind Revlan. She had been so intent on catching up with the Cidal that at first she didn't notice where she was... Between heavy breaths, she glanced at the strange blue glow imminating from the ceiling..."Sweet Lysora" she whispered to herself and slowly scanned the shadowy out skirts of the large room. Revlan seemed enthralled with two statues at the end of the room. Peryl's skin crawled... "Revlan.." she quietly said, "...where are they?" The Cidal didn't seem to hear her... the rose shaped pendant around Peryl's neck continued to give off dim light, but the jagged shadows that the light created only seemed to make the chamber come alive. Peryl gripped her mace tightly, and glanced over her shoulder for Amariel. She didnt see the wererats slink out from behind the statues, it was Revlans voice that drew her attention... "I take it you fur-faced freaks don't feel like talking". Confused, Peryl followed his gaze to the foul creatures. "Who is...What..is" she stammered... Peryl raised her mace to be ready and backed toward the knight behind her. Her mind raced as her eyes locked onto the wererats, which moved with suprising quickness out of the shadows. Amariel stepped in front of Peryl and the sound of her razor sharp scimitar rang out as the knight called out "Protect the cleric!" A strange mix of terror and admiration washed through Peryls veins. Thank Lysora Amariel was here. Feeling a little more secure, Peryl cleared her mind and reflected on her healing prayers she had meditated on earlier in the morning. This could be a bloody fight, and she knew that her friends might need all the blessings she could provide.

Hi All, sorry to have been awol in the last couple weeks.. life has been taking its toll... A death in the family and overwhelming work. Sorry to have neglected you...

Vs. the wererats/rats, Peryl will try to stick close to Amariel, with (1) a mind to provide any healing to any in the group. (2)If she has opportunity she will try to attack any enemy that another group member has engaged. (3) If she is forced to face a foe one on one, she will swing for the head, while looking for opportunities to move to safety (i.e another group member) Lets smash some rats!!

Ok I'm so ready for this... ok thats a lie.. I'm so ready to think about this for a day or so before I post. Hammer, great post... if in rl I'm feeling a little panic, it must be good. I guess thats what I get for rushing off down a dark unknown tunnel after a half crazy Cid.

Peryl moved closer to the crates in question, her almond shaped eyes quickly adjusting to the dim light. She had learned a simple light prayer and even used it on occasion..but it had been a while since she had meditated on it and the words and intonations were foggy in her mind. "I.. I used to know a simple blessing that would help brighten things down here..." she quietly stammered..." I just cant remember the last line... huh I guess it wasn't so simp..." Her quiet musings were cut off with the abrupt shout from Revlan, "they are getting away with sacks on thier backs!" Her focus snapped to the cidal peering behind the the crates... he shot back over his shoulder, ""Well come on, we can't lose them now!" and shot into the shadows. Peryl looked at her companions with a blank stare, and then back to the tunnel entrance again... "c'mon Willow!" and ducked behind the crates. "Revlan... wait up!" she screaled as she funbled for her mace. The cidal was quickly darting down the tunnel, Peryl could hear the sound of her companions behind her, but could not tell if they were close on her heels. Peryl tried to keep up with the intrepid Revlan, while simultaniously working her way through the light spell in her mind. "Oh give us light Lysora.. to brighten the darkest day, fill the shadows with... no no... Revlan!!! Slow down!" Fill the shadows with radiance... to show us all the way!" With that the small rose shaped pendant began to glow, giving off enough light to see a few meters in either direction. Peryl second guessed if the light was helping, or hurting her vision, as she could probably see better with out it. "Revlan!" she called again as she rounded a bend in the tunnel.. "Wait!"

Hi All yup RL has been brutal, but this tunnel and celar has been in the back of my mind. Peryl will obviously not charge down the tunnel after and of the intrepid others, at least not with out a moment of hesitation. She will be able to see somewhat better as her elvish vision should provide her with a little bonus. I think she will also wonder if there is a way to come back once the tunnel is traversed...and who the sack carrying shapers are, as they dont seem to want to chat.

*edit* So as I was writing the post... I thought about a light cantrip type spell... All the C&C info i have (which is limited) indicates Peryl should have a "level 0" light spell.. If I'm not mistaken, it should be a cast any time type thing... I took a chance and put it in the post.

Peryl's eyes adjusted quickly to the dim light, The random crates and barrels some of which were covered in thick dust framed the walls of the room, Peryl stepped into the center of the room when Willow's words gabbed her attention "I could use some help with these crates". Peryl moved towards where Willow was heading...

Hey T-O I liked your post, some nice back story there. Just wanted to say that I'm not pushing the story line too much as I'm a rookie, as well as Peryl... I assume that will change as this progresses.

Well, If it's a tunnel, I would think it cant go that far, we are still in a town. Are there catacombs nearby, or some sort of cave system? I think if it does turn out to be a tunnel, we should proceed very carefully, as we have no clue if it is a trap, or where the tunnel leads. Peryl is still getting herself together, and adjusting to her surroundings, she finds different traits of each character endearing, Amariel is an elf, she will gravitate to her, good news is she has lots of armor and a big sword too, so Peryl feels a little safer near her. Peryl is a woodsy herbal type and also finds Willow a natural like. The others She will warm up to as the story progresses, and she gets to know them better. As far as direction, Peryl is in follower mode, she is uncertain of what to do and where to go, she will look to others for this leadership. She will not suggest anything that might harm another party member, (like "I think we should attack") that being said, she is also naive and inexperienced as well as very curious so she may condone action that she will later say why did I do that.

Time started to catch back up for Peryl, although her heart was still pounding in her chest, she became more focused on her surroundings. The brawl began to dissipate and Peryl found herself following the group through the kitchen, "Is everyone OK?" she asked as she made her way down a dimly lit flight of stairs and into the dank cellar.
Once underground, Peryl began to re-assemble herself, glancing at her companions, and the the newcomer. Willow fought alongside the newly formed group, and Peryl was grateful for the help. Willow turned to the companions, "Oh, by the way my, name is Willow and I was sent her to join you. I was just a bit late, trouble on the trail. This is Smoke my companion..." Peryl smiled at Willow, she had the smell of the woods on her, and Peryl immediately liked her, the Wolf on the other hand made the hair on her neck stand up.

"Um... Revlan... what are you looking at? What are we doing down here?" she stammered, oblivious to the mysterious moving crates. "Did anyone see where those four cloaked humans went? I think we lost them." Peryl subconsciously gravitated near Amariel as she spoke to no one in particular. She eyed Rvlan and Vord as they both seemed to have focused on something across the room. Their focus alerted Peryl, as she stepped behind Amariel (her elven shield), she moved her hand to the mace hanging at her hip. "What is it?" she asked, ready for action.

As Peryl has only really had non violent encounters, she will be slow to react, and will probably be a little high strung/panicky. She will try to get away, and avoid actual conflict unless backed into a corner. Then she will pull her mace, if she truly feels life or death threatened. If she does manage to get away, she will seek safety behind the fighters of the group. Steel stuck in a ribcage/ severed limbs etc. will stun her briefly but she will focus on aiding her companions she will not hesitate to use any healing she can.

Peryl sat at the table trying to act like she was competent to be amongst the party. The briefing from Gemhunter both whet her appetite, and sent he mind spinning with self doubt. She watched the faces of her companions as the Khord spoke, each of them looked like a war forged veteran to her...Peryl found herself nervously tracing the rose shaped scar on her wrist long after the Khord had left. Scanning the patrons of the bar, Peryl was taken back by the surly humans that seemed to be the prime suspects of the tavern thefts. Peryl glanced at Amariel, her violet eyes telegraphed confidence, she resolved to try and emulate her. It was then that the humans grabbed her by the arm.

"What have we here? Two lovelies in da company of lesser men than we!

"You ladies need ta be in da company of real men this night ... until breakfast in the mornin!"

Peryl was startled by the strength of the men as they pulled her up from her chair. Her mind raced, she had practiced with her mentor, Master Dold, escaping from holds like this, but her muscles were slow, and seemingly weak. The room burst into action and Peryl thought she saw the flash of steel from where Amariel was just sitting. Panicking, Peryl thought only to try and trip the assailants... If she could get away, maybe she could face her attackers, head on, with her mace in her hand. Peryl thrust her leg backwards and tried to hook the back of the knee of one of the men behind her...

If nothing else is on. I would have loved to see a team that hasn't been in a while. I guess if you're from the north east its exciting, but I think it's a choice between plain vanilla, and warm milk. If I had to chose, I'd say Patriots will win.

Huh the 49-ers...I have to say I'm impressed with them. I didn't think they would get this far. As far as Tebow and the Broncos... I'm pulling for them... It's rare to see someone truly believe in something; right wrong or indifferent. I can respect that. It doesn't hurt that I grew up in Denver.

Subject: Do you RP playing computer games?

Hi all!

I spend my free time divided between RDI, computer games, and changing diapers, sometimes not in that order. Lately I have been playing Star Wars The Old Republic online... I play on a so called "RP server", but I have yet to actually see any role playing. I suspect it happens in private chat, and behind closed doors... Anyways, Do any of you play on line games, in particular RPG's? If so... what are they? Do you know of any good rp-ing games?

I second the idea of Vampires/ Supernatural... I haven't played "Vampire" in forever. The Idea of a post apocalyptic story is interesting.

I have to say this is tempting.. I have only watched Adventure Time a couple of times, but I found it fairly witty, AND RPG-ish. I actually imagined the writers to be old gamers who moved on to cartooning, or maybe the other way around. either way I look forward to reading this.
