Very welcome.

Topic: DnD stereotypes
Subject: Here we go...

1. lots of mountain dew (No, coffee.)
2. loads of funyuns (No, chocolates of all kinds.)
3. black light (Never. How can you roleplay properly without enough light to see facial expressions?)
4. something to get high with (Never while gaming.)
5. we're all still virgins (Coming up on a 5-year anniversary, if I was, we'd have a serious problem...)
6. Computer geek? (I do tech-support for a living.)
7. Dorky-(Certainly not.)
8. Pastey (Exotically pale, thank you)
9. Pimple Popper- (Not anymore - thank you Clinique!).
10. Avid reader of Sci Fi and Fantasy novels and thinks JRR Tolkin was a God (Yes to the first, no to the second.)
11. Pocket protectors (My clothes typically don't have pockets.)
12. Glasses (Not anymore.)
13. Mounds of comic books (Not really.)
14. Thinks D&D the movie was good. (Let's not even touch this one.)
15. doesn't need caffine to have a 48 game fest non stop (No, but sugar and serious ginseng concentrates.)
16. knows the complete history of more than 10 items in any RPG (No, but I can invent one in less than a minute.)
17. Knows complete history of at least 3 comic book heroes (Yes, as long as they don't have to be Marvel or DC super-heroes.)
18. doesn't have posters of babes/hunks on his/her walls, instead has dragons, knights and other fantasy types (Actually, I tend to have paintings.)
19. swords on walls while playing but by end of game everyone has one in hand. (The swords will stay above the mantel piece. This is not negotiable)
20. went to a renn. fair and got most dwarf like person there (At 5'9"? Not likely.)
21. started playing at age 7 and has yet to stop. (More like 14.)
22. has spent more on books in a given year then on a car (Not really, no.)
23. keeps spare copies of their D&D books in trunk just in case they need them. (AD&D? When there is Ars Magica!)
24. has played D&D in a woods on a scary with thunder and lightning, etc. night and was only afraid the DM might use this as a chance to kill off their character (No. We were at an abandoned construction site...)
25. same as 24 but in real haunted house. (...but I still think it was haunted!)

Would it be possible to increase the number of character allowed per post in the chat? I didn't even make it half way through the second sentence of an opening description of my character...

Subject: Smiley test

Ah, okay. Here we go then: Smiley test!

Clicking on a smiley has the same effect as hitting Ctrl-Home on the keyboard-it takes me to the top of the page.

I've double-checked my Script settings, and NoScript is set to allow everything on the site, however, as it turns out Adblock mistook all the smileys for popup ads and blocked them. So I whitelisted the entire site in AdBlock, naturally, but the smileys still don't work. When I hover the mouse cursor above a smiley no code shows up that I can put in manually either, though I tried several times after restarting the browser.

Should I assume that Firefox with NoScript and AdBlock installed will kill the smileys? That makes me sad. :-(

Subject: Not working in Firefox?

I just noticed that there is a message at the bottom of each page that says "You must enable cookies and javascript to use all features of this site."

I have both those enabled, and have had since my first visit after the crash, but the smileys are still unusable for me. Is it because I'm on Firefox (the pre-crash chatroom did not like that browser), or is there some other reason?

Subject: The chat doesn't like me?

Tonight, while reding one of my many boring text books, I logged into the chat to sit and wait for someone to show up, like I've done countless times before. I've never been voided out that quickly before though. I don't know why, I kept the window open, put up a status message, but I keep being disconnected. Is the bug more persistent than usual tonight, or is it just my laptop?
