Entertainment for geeks

As you may have noticed (if you hit the front page of the site), I just posted a new parody song (You're Gruesome, Dude) written by the talented Alacrity. This one was a bit different, as Al wrote it in response to my request - I wanted to record it. That recording is embedded on the page.

I may be doing more of these, just for the fun of it. Is that something anyone would want to hear? I do realize that my poor equipment and marginal talent equal less than stellar quality... but I think this is fun to do.

In the meantime, I went back and embedded "The DM Song" on its page, as well. I mean, you may want to listen to it, but why have to download it?

We're also wondering if other Innmates might want to record their own versions and share them with us?

right there

It's right there on the page. Scroll down, there's an audio player embedded on the page.

pish tosh

One of those anti-firefox measures I suppose.

Works on IE, not on the good browser

Also having problems ...

Admiral?
If you don't have it, try downloading the Firefox plug-in for Shockwave Flash Player, and the streaming player should work. I had that problem too, until I downloaded and installed the plug-in.

t_catt? My own problem with the page and it's accompanying audio is that it's streaming audio. Out in the boonies where brother and I are currently located, high-speed Internet is no longer an option, so we no longer have the capability to handle that form of audio. It don't work well with dial-up speeds. Takes forever to download in fits-and-spurts ...

Looking at the source-code, it looks to be embedded in .swf format (?). Any way to get a downloadable version in .wav format?

Not absolutely necessary, but I would like to have a copy. I just dont have the patience (or ability) to listen to it in streaming format(s).

okay, done

Changed the player to one that plays nicely with Firefox. Also added a download link so that you can own your very own copy, if you so desire.

Added the same to "The DM Song" and "The Die is Cast".

idear

Why don't we make our own version of RPG radio? Of all the things from my early internet days, that is what I miss the most.

we could find them

Let's play the "we have so many members there has to be someone that can do it" game.

I've been told I have a voice for radio. Or was that a face for radio?

yeah

Roger and I mentioned that possibility in chat. I dearly miss RPG Radio, too. I wore my RPG Radio tshirt until it wore out.

It's a possibility, but the thing is, to keep interest, we'd need new content at steady intervals. That seems like a tall order.

RPG Radio

I'm not familair with RPGradio's format. What was it? A live stream or just a series of songs?

ahhh, those were the days....

Mostly,it was a looping stream. They had occasional live events, but usually, just playlists.

They'd add a few new items every week, though. Was so very cool.
