Geim

Geim efforts to reach Alyssia quickly were in vain. She was gone before he got to her. Yet now ws not a time to grieve.

Anger flared hot and hard in Geim as he turned towards the fell beast and it rider. Out of the range of his normal weapons, he did have a way to reach them. Geim calls on Kharox's divinely granted powers and cast

(if Geim has Spirutal Weaponprayed for this today he will cast it which would be manifested as a dwarven war ax, the favorite weapon of Kharox. He targets the rider of the Wyvern.)

(If her does not have that spell for today not he casts prayer.)

wyvern part 2

The Chakran Mnts
15th day of the 8th month: Temoth Ore
9:12 pm

Malius was in grave pain, but the ranger would not let grief and suffering stop him from delivering death. He let his arrows fly once more, and saw one of them puncture the wyvern. It cried out, and started flapping wildly, still blinded by Elessarae’s spell.
The creature was unable to attack, unable to see anything, but in an attempt to regain focus it swung wildly in the air. For the companions it was hard to see what its goblin rider was doing. Was it trying to calm it, or was it urging it to continue the frenzy?

Loda took the time of distraction to cast a spell that would give her more protection, should she be the next victim of poisonous attacks.

Elessarae took a quick pace to settle herself in a good position to aim at the wyvern, while still being able to watch the approaching hordes of goblins. She grabbed her shortbow and took a shot at the wyvern, aiming for the wings. Unfortunately, due to the frantic flapping, they were all over the night’s sky, and her attack missed target.

Thondrek had drunk the potion of Spider Climb in the mean time. Then, he suddenly disappeared. A blink of a moment later he was free falling in the spot where the wyvern was supposed to be. The monster was shaking so heavily that it had moved, and the Khordaldrum Duskblade saw in horror that he was clinging to thin air. Down he went, swinging with his arms, mind blurred with panic. Then, as if the gods blessed him, the tail of the wyvern came swinging in his direction. With a final effort, Thondrek was able to smack one hand on the tail’s end, dangerously close to the stinger. It struck and the Climb spell started to work. He was hanging on for his life, and managed to pull himself up. It required to hands though, and he had to put his weapon away. (This is true, read the Spiderclimb description, you need both hands free) His attack would have to wait for another round.

Geimiedefher had his own methods of dealing with enemies that kept their distance. Kharox’s favoured weapon appeared inches from the wyvern, and without delay, the Khordaldrum Cleric directed it at the goblin rider. The weapon struck, but bounced off the rider’s armor harmlessly.

Meanwhile, the goblins were approaching, and would not take much longer to engage in the battle.
(Only Elessarae sees that they will be there in less than 4 rounds. I hope that you can all read this information and act like your character doesn’t know it, if you haven’t stated that your character takes the time to check up on the horde. Remember, it takes up your free action for the round.)

Malius once more let his arrows fly. Again, one of them hit the target but this time didn’t do much to hinder the wyvern.
The monster, in turn, shrieked loudly as its vision returned. Down it came, unaware of the Khord that clung to its tail. But instead of attacking with its tail, it snapped at Elessarae with its vicious jaws. In a reflex she let go of an arrow, but it missed precision and flew by without harm. The sharp tips of its birdlike beak drew through her shoulder, and ripped her flesh. A stream of splattering blood followed the momentum of the monster as it flew overhead. But the attack was not over. A dark form dropped form the wyvern’s back, and landed right next to the Sylvari bladesinger. The Goblin rider had released the reigns of his flying mount, and now came at Elessarae with an axe that was covered in vile runes that glowed red in the shadows. A fearless roar escaped the goblin’s throat as he plunged himself upon her. Down came his axe, but his attack was hasty and misplaced with anger. The blade swooshed an inch from her face, splitting her shocked breath in two, but was otherwise harmless.

Loda did not have enough time to prepare her attack, and the wyvern was down before her axe was ready. Another enemy faced them now though, and she refocused her attention. With an old Khordaldrum battle cry she ran over to the goblin, and planted her axe in between his shoulder blades.
The impact was almost deafening. Her blade bounced so hard on his full plate armor that she could see the imprint of it when she withdrew. For a moment the goblin staggered forward, caught of guard and stricken by the immense blow he had received. (critical hit, dealt about 36 dmg, wtf…) But his shock turned to hatred as he spotted an enemy more hated than Sylvarians… the Khordaldrum.

Elessarae withdrew a step and dropped her bow. Up came her longsword, and it would’ve cut of the head of the goblin if it hadn’t turned to growl at Loda. As it was, all that her weapon did was cut off a few hairs of the goblin’s skull.

Thondrek was still up in the air, making his way up the wyvern’s spine. He finally found a good spot to hold on to while he freed one hand to grab his weapon. Murmuring lowly he uttered a quick spell that made his blade crackle with electricity. But a sudden jerk when the monster turned made him miss, and both his spell and his attack went over the creature’s hide without doing any damage. Fortunately, the monster still hadn’t noticed him, as it was too occupied by doing its master’s bidding.

Geim’s conjured weapon was still hovering around the goblin, and for a second time it attacked. But what had been hard to spot earlier was now very clear. The Spiritual Weapon came in for a sure strike, but missed its target. Was luck on the green menace’s side, or was there something else at play?
The cleric reached for his axe, but could not do anything more at that moment.

(OOC: I took the liberty to fill in some of the blanks after the goblin dropped from the wyvern. That means that I had Loda attack. I’m sure THAT’s no problem . I had Thondrek attack, as was planned. He missed unfortunately. And I had Elessarae draw her longsword… assuming that was what Dragon M would’ve done. And I had Geim grab his weapon. Now if there was anything wrong with my decisions, let me know. That doesn’t mean you get to redo your attacks though. The rolls stay the same.)

Ok so what round is this then LOL

Malius watched yet again as only 2 of 4 arrows fired hit and was dismayed when the Wyvern still was able to attack, its next target Elessarae. With the Goblin jumping from the creatures back to the ground and Thondrek somewhat taking the Goblin’s place, making his missile fire dangerous, Malius shifted his focus of attack.

His bow quickly dropped to the ground, longsword, shortsword drawn, he moved towards Elessarae and Loda to engage the Goblin in melee this next round.....

Elessarae

Still singing she takes the opportunity to attack the Goblin that turned on Loda.

(Need to know what type of Armor Goblin is wearing and if his neck is unarmored.) Will edit and add to post as needed.

hmm

Thondrek was now firmly up on th Wyvern, practically in the saddle where the goblin rider once sat. Getting there, he knew he had to get the wyvern down and quickly, as casting a glance over his shoulder from his vantage point revealed that the goblin forces would be upon them in seconds. (using free action)

With his sword charged with electricity, he hacked forward at the base of the neck before him, hoping this time his luck would fare better.

(I believe shocking grasp is retained until discharged or a duration elapses, but my books are packed away for moving lol. If I'm wrong just blow another first level spell slot I have plenty )

..

Loda gave an almost evil grin as her axe buried itself deep into the goblin armour, striking at it and dishing out quite the pain. She twirled her axe and now faced the litte green beast, and she held her shield firm, and mentally told Gothard to attack with her, coming over its side to flank it. Hopefully together they can do some damage, while the Wyvern was being distracted.

Geim Prayer

Geim lifts up his shield and sx then cast Prayer to aid his companions. Then he will move to the trail head and take on those coming up the trail towards the grassy plain if he can keep them from spreading out he could gain the other extra time to take care of the Goblin king.

"Kharox, I call on you divine favor in Prayer that my companions will be aided in their fight against the Khord's ancient foes, the goblins, and that they will falter before your might.

Geim then moves over to the head of the trail to deny the goblins and orcs coming up the trail from entering onto the grassy meadow.

Elessarae

Still singing she takes quickly takes in the armor the goblin wears, “My thanks Heren'salkya,” she thinks to the Goddess of Luck, not breaking her song. Her sword had no magic and from
what she had seen this goblin had magical protections. Luck had given her an opening.

Knowing she had to stay away from the glowing ax, Elessarae, calling on all her training and praying for a bit more luck from the Lady of Luck, Fortune’s Dancer, danced an attack that would bring her blade between the goblin’s legs, hoping to do two things, strike deep and possibly, if the blade bit deep enough, she would use it to upset the goblin’s stance to throw off his own attack and keep her from feeling the bite of his ax.

ouch on both sides

The Chakran Mnts
15th day of the 8th month: Temoth Ore
9:12 pm

Malius forgot about the wyvern the moment its rider dropped to the ground. The ranger let go of his bow, discarding it to the floor, and started to run. In a fluent motion he drew both his blades and swung at the goblin with his longsword. It hit the creature on the shoulder, not as hard as he would’ve liked, but it was a first strike. There was more to come.

The wyvern, with Thondrek on its back, swooped down again with a sudden twist of its body. The Khord had to hold on with both hands from the speed and saw the monster charge at Elessarae once again. The bladesinger was distracted by the goblin in front of her, but at the last minute saw the shadow approaching. Her blade came up and wounded the monster on its face, but it could not stop its momentum and dedication. Again it snapped at her with terrifying long teeth and a birdlike beak, and again it ripped a piece of flesh from her body before flying overhead.
Its master was engaged in a combat that was rapidly turning into a dogpile, with the adventurers crowding on him. Still, he seemed fearless and uncaring of minority in numbers. Glowing eyes blazed even brighter as he swung his vile axe at Loda and he muttered something in the draconic tongue. Those who knew the language were stricken with dread when those words reached their ears: “Avestaath, Angel of Blood, Smite the entrails of this slime upon your Eternal Battlefield!”
As it came down, the axe made a sound of hundreds of voices screeching in pain. It hit Loda straight in the chest, and split her life force straight in two. She took a step backwards, feeling as if struck by one of Kharox’s thundering hammers. But the goblin wasn’t done yet. The blade of the axe was hauled in a single motion from Loda to the ranger who had just joined the melee combat. It cleaved into Malius’ leg. The cut felt deeper than anything the ranger had ever felt. A feeling of decay and unholiness spread through his body.

Loda was so stricken by the blow she had received that her next attack missed precision. Her axe flew harmlessly by the goblin’s evasive moves. He seemed tireless; a black blur of destruction wrought from evil itself. Gothard came charging in, wild with a rage of protection of his master. But he too could not get a straight shot at the goblin.

Elessarae was now bleeding in several places, but her voice continued to chant encouragement and inspiration through the battlefield. But through her words a doubt had spread in her mind. Seeing the destruction brought by this unholy goblin had touched her spirit deeper than she would’ve though. She started to doubt that her own blade could do anything against the armor of her foe. Therefore she tried to pry it between the creases of its knee protection; a most difficult feat in itself. Her attempts failed: her blade struck air as the creature moved in its deathly dance.

Meanwhile, Thondrek took a glance at the approaching hordes. They were closer, very close, and would reach the battle on the grassy plane in just a few seconds (2 rounds). He had to get rid of this wyvern, and fast.
He had released his hand that clutched his axe and once more brought it down upon the wyvern’s back. The hit was incredibly well placed, and his blade sliced through the monster’s spine as if it were mud. It was the spreading shock of the engaged spell, however, that caused the wyvern to shudder and burn. But to Thondrek’s astonishment, the creature did not fall. Instead it simply disappeared, and the Khordaldrum Duskblade awaited a nasty fall. He landed on his back and the air was pushed out of his lungs with the impact. (3d6 dmg for 30 feet of falling).

Finally Geim sent a Prayer up to the Heavens, hoping that Kharox would hear him and bless his allies. And as the Cleric had known already, the Almighty Crafstman lent his hand in this battle. A hot metallic glow spread over each of the group’s weapons and armor, as if they were being drawn from a furnace. The fullness of the effect only lasted the length of a breath, but a quiet glow remained on the items.
The spiritual weapon still attacked the goblin, but had as much luck as they had had, and seemed to do nothing more but hinder the other’s vision.

The goblin seemed anything but ready to give up. Though his wyvern had disappeared, the hordes were on their way, though only Thondrek and Geimiedefher had a clear focus on how close exactly they were.

Death of a Ranger perhaps??

Malius knew he was hurt, hurt bad, but the threat presented by the ungodly strong Goblin was too real to take the time to heal himself. With its attention seemingly on Elessarae Malius his blood flowing both inside him and out of him moved to hopefully take the Goblin by surprise and hurt it.

If he died in the attempt at least he would die protecting someone he was falling in love with then watching her die while he healed. His long sword and short sword firmly gripped the Sylvari ranger attacked.

(OOC: He will as the post says attack the Goblin without regard to delay to heal himself.)

Oof (Edited: No dimension hop)

The ground rushed up at him much faster than he had hoped, and the wind was knocked from his lungs for the second time in as many hours as the earth he loved claimed more injury. Picking himself up, he knew however that he didn't have time to worry about himself, this goblin foe was dangerous as was the horde that was dangerously close, their footsteps could be heard plainly, as well as the sounds of goblin-tongue as they were only seconds away.

Thondrek activated his True Strike clasp and called out to his companions. "Ten second's till we're overrun, whatever you plan on doing do it quick!"

(Move action to stand, standard for activation, free action to speak)

Round two

Depending on his initiative, Thondrek will move to strike him with his crystal enchanced Axe using his increased Accuracy. Hoping the goblin iswounded enough that he might be able to fell him with a strike, he'll Channel a Shocking grasp into the blow, taking advantage of the metal armor he wears.
((Atk +34 (8+1 (crystal)+20 True Strike +2 flanking +3 he's in metal)Damage 1d10+3 (2str +1 crystal) +5d6 electrical))

(If the Goblin is felled before Thondrek's initiative, He will instead cast Swift Expedious retreat as a Swift action, Move aside Malius, and expend Two charges from his healing belt into the ranger. (Providing he's not dead)

Geim to the rescue

Gein Watches the fight even though he moved off to see what was coming up the trail. Elessarae had take two bites from the wyvern. Loda had taken the brunt of the ax blow from the goblin leader or whatever he was.

Geim quickly changed his directions from the trail head with the upcoming goblins and orcs and things, to the goblin leader He runs over to his embattled comrades.

Loda has taken a hard blow and is blooded, as is Elessarae. Malius had been hit too. However, Loda looks the worst off. So his first healing spell will be a cure critical on her. Dwarven legs may be short but Geim covers the ground as rapidly as possible.

Just to mic things up he gives a loud Dwarven Battle Cry as he charges the goblin, even though his target in not the goblin. HE keeps his dhiel up to fend off any attack that comes his way
.
"Kharox's Chosen, Smite the Goblin scum."

His second round he will cast a cure critical on Elessarae.

.

Loda stumbled backwards and felt her blood stain the ground and axe of the goblin fiend. She growled slightly under her breathe and her temper flared as adreneline pumped through her khorish veins. This little creature shall be killed here and now. She hefted her axe for an underswing, hoping to catch a chink in the armour and cleaving off the goblins arm or anything like that. She hoped Gothards flank attack would let him tear chunks of goblin flesh from it's body.

( just doing a normal attack also with gothard flank)

Elessarae

Elessarae sees Malius charge to attack the Goblin. Without saying a word, Loda, Malius, Geim and even Thorn are doing one of the things she had hoped they would do. With their blades aglow with Kharox's blessing, now was the best time to strike.

She charges forward to the Goblin holding her blade in a defensive position until the last moment and then she strikes for the ax, her one goal for now is to remove the ax from the goblin's grasp.

She aims to use all the strength of her body and the tricks of her training to disarm the Goblin one way or another, as a last resort she will grab the haft of the weapon and wrest it from his grasp.

"For the Deities of Light and Good!" she cries as she make her feint charge.

oops...

The Chakran Mnts
15th day of the 8th month: Temoth Ore
9:12 pm

After Geim’s spell had taken effect, Malius knew this was the time to react. He felt his life slipping away from him, but found a fury inside himself that would not kneel to pain. Down came his longsword upon the goblin, followed quickly by his shorter blade. The ranger spun around one time and let both weapons hit once more. This frenzied attack would’ve earned respect from any enemy. Both attacks with his longsword hit home, though his shortsword needed a little more precision. The foe they faced was dangerously wounded now, and realized it too. Instead of a furious attack, the goblin held back, using his axe to deflect attacks directed at him, perhaps to save time until the other forces would arrive.

Loda and Gothard both launched an attack simultaneously, their minds linked by more than experience and equal hatred for Goblins. They were growing closer with every fight they survived. Unfortunately, the goblin was too focused on dodging attacks, and with a quick duck he evaded gothard’s jump and stepped aside and parried an attack from Loda’s axe before she could hit him in a nasty place.

Elessarae now realized that a big part of this goblin’s strength lay in its connection to the Greataxe it was wielding. With a sudden burst she jammed her longsword at the weapon’s handle, hoping to slam it out of the creature’s grasp. But in a reflex, the unholy warrior swung his blade at her, and she almost ran into a death-trap. She thanked the gods for her training and came to a sudden halt, like so many times before in Megilindar Nost, only to return with a well aimed hack of her own blade. The two weapons clashed, and for a brief moment there was a struggle. Then the goblin regained control over his axe, by pure strength alone.

Thondrek was hurrying with a spell. He knew there was little time to spare but he needed all the accuracy he could get for his next plan. Releasing his spell upon himself he kept facing the battle and the goblins behind him. He would have to make a quick sprint now to stay in front of them, but he could not move until the True Strike took full effect.

Geimiedefher knew that waiting was not an option. He ran towards Loda and was ready to cure her wounds with Kharox’s blessing, but while he ran towards the goblin in a divertive maneuver he saw the creature grin. Before Geim had reached Loda, the goblin raised his axe high, and let it come down upon the grassy plane with a stunning force. The evil runes on the blade seemed to fall from the weapon, dropping red-hot onto the ground like embers from a smithy’s blast. But when they came down they exploded in a force that was not fire, but forged from pure death. The earth and grass beneath the blow were sent flying through the battlefield. Malius grasped his chest and fell down with staring eyes. Loda and Gothard both collapsed under the invisible blow of force. Elessarae, who had been closest to the goblin sank to her knees, and then face-forward into the upturned earth. Geim was almost knocked backwards, but remained standing. He saw his comrades fall dead around the goblin and stared at it in disbelief. The spell that the cleric had been readying was now best used on himself, for he too felt as if his belly had been split open and his head had been punctured with nails.
Only Thondrek stood far enough from the battlefield to not be affected, but he too saw in horror how the fight had suddenly turned ugly, how amidst his fallen companions the unholy goblin warrior stood screaming up to the heavens.

And then the goblins were all over them. Geim and Thondrek were too late to retreat (initiative wise), and could only try to stop the hordes from swarming them. Many goblins fell around them, the two Khordaldrum brethren. They fought with a might worthy of annotation in the tomes of the Grand Library. But eventually they tired, and the many cuts and bruises were too much for them to take. When a few orcs joined in the fight, they were lost, and everything turned dark.

Sore and broken they all opened their eyes. It was still night, or night again, and they found themselves in a metal cage. There hands were bound by thick ropes, their eyes blurry with pain. Beyond the bars of the cage, the night was only broken by a big fire that danced somewhere behind a sea of tents.
Around the cage stood more tents, barrels, and racks with weapons and shields. Dark shadows moved everywhere around them, and grunts and harsh laughter reverberated damply through the fields; they were in the goblin encampment. The cage they were sitting or lying in had wooden wheels, and only a single door with an intricate lock. On every corner of the cage stood a goblin sentinel, weathered and alert. But aside from the goblins, they were not alone in the cage. There were two others, one a Khordaldrum male, the other a strange humanoid with leathery wings and brown hair. The Khord was awake, but the other lay distorted and broken in a corner.

(OOC: You’ve been captured, and I don’t think I need to add that you guys don’t have any of your equipment, except armor, which the goblins didn’t bother taking off.)
