Calvin

"Yes ma'am." He obeyed swiftly. He set his case down and gingerly removed the necklace his friend have given him earlier.

He stepped into the ring expectantly, excited to see what he was being tasked to do. He only hoped no one touched the fragile case.

I'm always there...like a bad itch! God that was horrible

Kannizan left his armor in the basement. The set was old, he would get his son to send him a new shirt. He came back out to the arena with his green linens on, with both axes at his sides and his buckler at his back. He took his place next to Lakota, and spoke lightly into her ear.

"Ye'll wanna watch 'im. I can promise ye he's good."

Lakota

"This will be a simple wrestling match. Who ever is left on their feet at the end is the winner. I will give no other instruction then that, for I would like to see how creative you can be. If things get out of hand do not worry I will be your marshal. Your safety is my first priority."

Right-O

He nodded silently, surveying the crowd of onlooking students, wondering silently who he was to face.

Dam...

Hirokuun silently cursed as the woman walked away from the building. She was interesting... He knew that he had to make a quick ally for to her... or else. Maybe... they didn't look elvish. Chances are they weren't well versed in current elven news... such as his own. He would present himself as prince of his house... which he had been, until a while ago.

Hirokuun smiled. This was going to be easier... in theory. Well, time would tell. He was close enough to the ground now... Fifteen feet was easy. He pushed off of the building, now that nobody else was there. The two people had left. There was just the woman and her class. Well. This should be fairly simple.

He took his dual bladed Naginata out of it bindings on his back, and placed it across his shoulders, in a calm manner. His eyes briefly flitted about, taking in every angle. His facial tattoos weren't indicative of his penalty to non educated ones. He simply had nice body art.

Hirokuun walked on up to the class and said, "Wrestling? Mind if I watch? Or even better, take on this young man here who seems eager to wrestle?"

Why watch

Kannizan moved around Lakota and looked at the new elf that had just arrived.

"Why watch when ye can join, laddie?" He motioned towards the ring. "Jest leave yer weapon and any loose articles."

Dear God

He knew he was going to get destroyed. Elves were swift, powerful and cunning, and this was was clearly no exception. He was terrified. He was strong when he had a weapon, but no match with no tool.

My weapon?

Hirokuun stroked his weapon with each hand. "Leave my weapon eh? Well, it seems only fair in a wrestling match. However, who can guarantee the safety of this weapon? Not many people see something like this everyday."

Hirokuun strode over to the one who had addressed him. "Will you watch it?" He said, with a snide smirk on his face. Leaving his double bladed Naginata on the ground in front of the dwarf, Hirokuun flexes, and takes a few deep breaths. Suddenly, he does a backflip from a standing position, and lands gracefully on his feet.

Cracking his neck, he asks. "Ready?"

Show off

"As ever sir..." was his only response. He went over the ruled of hnad to hand combat in his mind. Never make the first move, wait for your opponent to strike, use his own momentum as your weapon. He might be able to last a little while.

come on....

"Alright, then. Ready, begin!"

Kannizan hoped that Calvin remembered his training from Brenen, although he knew he worried for naught. He was a smart kid, and a good fighter.

But a dwarf had a much different standard than an elf.

Alright.

Hirokuun smiled. He stepped into the ring and pulled his hair out of his shirt, letting the long blue braid flow freely. Sliding down, bending his knees slightly, he sticks out one hand with his fingers together, and holds the other one tight against his back, the way he had been taught, and was informed was special to Elven nobles. This human didn't have a chance. But he wasn't interested in this one.

"Well then. On your mark."

Isilideleen

Isilifeline had been up early practicing at teh archery range, and then working out with some of the instructors with her longsword. She was much better with her bow than with sword or dagger though she used them as her father had, both at the same time. When she had come her she and tried out for the position of Archery instructor. NO everyone was as enthusiastic about being an archer as she was but she knew that some of the new recruits had the ability to become good archers if they put some effort into learning the bow.

Wandering over to where the recruits were gathering she was a silent observer of the on going activities, a tall cloak and hooded figure with the slenderness of her race and their natural grace. She leans over to the head instructor.

"Well there seems to be a lot o young ones this time around which might be good for me. That way I do not have to untrain a lot of bad habits, and hear 'That is how I have always done it'." she mimics a garrulous older man;s voice, "...and that from someone who thinks he knows better."

...

"Your move..."

He said it with a slight bite. A very subtle hint of attitude. He knew he could hold out for a while, maybe even inflict some damage of his own, but he could not win. Frankly, this match up was unfair, but he learned complaining was a cowards way out. If he was going to lose, he was going to face it with valiance.

He stood tall, not hunching over, doing nothing with himself. The Tlyvarian military was adept at training soldiers in the art of hand to hand, and Brenen had passed some of his knowedge onto Roy. He was to show no sign of his fighting style, therefore lulling his opponent into a false sense of security. He knew the Elf wasn't that stupid. He figured the Elf knew full well his strategy, and so it was bound to be a waiting game.

Lakota

Lakota was surprised at the new arrival and his hotheadedness. His scent was familiar and she knew it was he that she had sensed. But she had not expected this. The last thing that she had wanted was to put a new recruit in danger. She had wanted them equally matched in age and unique enough in stature that she could demonstrate the importance of understanding your opponent and their physical strengths and weaknesses. To not judge a book by its cover as they say.

As this match had yet to engage in physical combat she spoke out to the two in the ring "Hold." The command in her voice made the young ones behind her jump in there shoes. "I had no intention of seeing one of the new students get slaughtered by a male nearly 10 times their age. I believe that it was me you were seeking out before. Let us be the example for these young ones, and save the lesson of surviving an unfair fight for one of the masters to teach." As she spoke she striped down to her fitted sleeveless shirt and breeches. Lakota handed her teacher her weapons. "Master I can not sit by and watch this, forgive me for interrupting. I trust what you say about the boy is true, but I have no desire to see anyone insulted this day."

She stepped into the ring and gave a nod to the boy. "I believe that this particular fight was waiting for me, if you will allow me to take your place."

Lakota waits for Calvin to give his consent before she crouches low and watches for an opening in her elven opponent.

XD

"Yes ma'am."

He nodded silently and hurried out of the ring, gathering what few things he hand and returning to the rest of the students, looking on at them expectantly.
