Miniature Painting

I know this is a forum for online gaming and that doesn't exactly relate to miniatures... however, many of us play games in person as well and all the miniatures that go with it become a bit of an obsession.

I personally paint miniatures and have really gotten into it over the past few years. I was wondering if there were any other mini-minded painters out there in this group.

A few months ago I found another forum that had a monthly painting challenge, it really wasn't anything formal, but a nice way to build a little community and accountablility to get something finished each month, as well as get friendly feedback. Perhaps if we had interest I could start up something like that around here.

So hey if there are any painters out there let me know! I'd really love to see some of what you all can do!

M.

I'm not a mini painter, but I have asked for he supplies to get into it for Christmas.  I'm not an artsy guy, so mine will likely look like a child's efforts, but hopefully I will still have fun.

Same...

...I haven't necessarily asked for stuff to get started but, after watching Meri bring minis to life all these years (and playing around with Hero Forge), it's possible I might take it up, as well.

MENTOR us, O' Mighty Museilicious!!!

Ha...

Mentor you two? That's funny. I don't think I have the patience for such things.

But perhaps I'll go ahead and start a mini's thread. Start a challenge in January see how it goes...

You could upload the images on a host like imageur.  Then click the "insert/edit image" button on the toolbar above your post.  Copy/paste your image link, and you're done.

So many tabletop games. Such a big pile of unpainted shame.

Right now I'm working on some Warhammer 40K models. I've built a few crews for the Kill Team skirmish game over the years, and the new edition's drop with PDF rules and stat cards convinced me to take the plunge and actually turn a couple of them into full-game armies. Decided to do my Necrons in blue and gold, homaging the old WHFantasy Tomb Kings. Since, y'know, Necrons are just Tomb Kings In Space.

Going to take a break after the current squad of 40K dudes and shift gears to I'm not sure what. Maybe a lance out of the...uh...two companies of Battletech mechs I have still in the boxes.

You should share them!

I'm currently working on my second skeleton.  I've done one other skeleton, a barrel, and a crate.
