Primary and Secondary Weapon Choice

Monty will take the M6A1 Carbine and the M13 Pistol.

Tann, I believe that all of the Rangers will have a standard operating package of gear that Olan will fill us in on, and that includes the armor. I believe that he was just wanting to know our weapon preference.

I may have jumped the gun, but I had some very elusive free time hit me today so I posted.

yeppers...

There will be a standard issue package that will include armor, a knife, hand grenades, and ammo for your selected weapons.

No, the team does not know one another. You have all been handpicked for this mission.

standard issue

Here is your standard issue package. Please note that I am not listing all of the incidental items: e.g. sunscreen, lip balm, clean underwear, etc. Assume that you have food rations sufficient for five days, a canteen, and water purification tablets. Furthermore, you'll have an arctic sleeping bag, matches, clothing, etc. Finally, our tech and medic will each have specialized non-combat gear appropriate for their speciality.

Billet: Team Leader, Rifleman, Medic, Technical Attache Primary Weapon: M19A2 or M6A1

3 magazines of appropriate ammo (15 x 9mm or 10 x .45 cal)
MAK Knife
Fitted ARBA suit
4 fragmentation grenades (you may substitute up to two of these with alternate payloads: concussion, smoke, incindiery)

Specialized non combat gear? Nummies!

Will you advise us here of that equipement, or via PM? I'm thinking that computers may not have advanced that much in 8 years, other than being faster and powerful with improvements in data storage capacities, but no real AI or other "sci fi" stuff.

Charlie would want to bring her own laptop/portable PC/tablet as it likely has programs only she knows about...stuff that breaks things designed to keep her out , that sort of thing.

TO EVERYONE

I want to apologize for my post in Cold as Hell, at the time I did not realize that it would be taken in such a negative light. If I could I would delete it but with Brom and then Brianna’s follow up posts that make it kind of tough to do so as their posts cover it somewhat.

But again to everyone I do apologize for the wording of the post and hope no one was too offended by it.

Military protocal and other Military matters.

Okay, this military stuff, I am mostly faking because I have very little knowledge of military matters other than what I can gleam from military movies, etc. So if I the player make a misstep please inform me so I can edit my post. Inga is all spit and polish and proper military etiquette.

Just PM me, whoever catches it.

Yeah, expect a series of non-sensical blathering from me. I swear its military jargon.

military uniforms

The army's olive green will not be in effect come 2029, they are going back to the blues as field uniforms, and whoever has not noticed the Battle Dress Uniforms are now digitalized like the Marines, but with a different color pattern. Combat Boots that are standardly worn are the snadish brown ones, so no more shining just a scrubbing the dirt and stuff off. Rangers do have the option of wearing a Tan beret instead of the BDU or Garrison cap. Also, military name tages don't have first initials that I have seen.

actually...

the Army's olive green isn't in effect in most places, now. Currently, the desert camo pattern is what you see outside of dress situations.

In our game, this same basic uniform is still appropriate - our setting holds that while there have been conflicts in Africa and Asia, the Middle East is still a roiling hotspot.

Do note that this is a moderated game - make suggestions, sure, but I am the final arbiter of reality! Bwhahahahaa!
