So, I was kind of right in my first thought; the orb will reflect the amount of aggression shown to it. Haila vaguely thinks.

"I have some Cure Moderate wounds spells that might be of use; who is most in need?" Cor asks.
Immediately after hearing this, Haila quickly waves at Cor to get his attention; with her dislocated jaw, it is quite likely nothing spoken would make any sense.

((After healing, and hopefully enough to mend her jaw at least))

"Ouch... that hurt." Haila murmurs, although the actual explosion had occurred a little while previous.

"Anyway... my hypothesis regarding that orb is it will reflect to us the same amount of aggression we attempt, at least from physical attacks." Haila thinks aloud, "As for magic, judging by my spell, it seems to be resilient to magic, or fire at the very least. That makes a bit of sense, because I doubt the designer of this test wanted some mage to just fireball the place to pass it."

"So, I'm going to try ice next, unless someone else has any other ideas." Haila finishes, looking to the others.

The little Druidess keeps her pain to herself, she was sure that Divot did not mean to cause another fiasco. The pain of her wounds and knowing that she was almost at half her health, she finally took out a potion of extra healing and drank from it, taking only a bit at a time hoping not to have to use the whole thing.

She looks to see if there in any way to see the orb over the wall. (Not sure if it goes all the way to the ceiling.)

She does know that oncee they finish in this room, that they would need to rest. They could just wait in the door of the other room until they got back their spells and such and the let the door close when they were ready.

"About that orb we could try to covering it up, black it out so to speak, so it cant's see or detect us

(OOC: Past actions and present. Rayne used Cure Critical on Athena and Haila, and a cure moderate on herself. She also has a 2 Cure light to use on anyone else needing them which she will do this time),

She is getting low on healing spells. Once they get out of here they will need to stop and rest so spells could be regained. These two test have really been potential killers of them all. They had plenty of food and water to last such a stay.

"Any disspell magic spells out there still?"

"WE could tre to reflect that ray back on the orb. or try a melee attack since it shoots out at missile attacks, or we can try pulling it down with a rope

Kenji stood ready with his katana as the others discussed magical ways to attack the globe. He looked over the situation but saw no way he could assist them in that endeavor, but he saw nothing he could do would assist them.

He considered attacking the globe but after witnessing the effects of the others who attacked it, he knew it would be a waste of time and strength. As the casters gathered to discuss options, he moved forward from where he had been standing protectively over Haila to the front of the group to provide a protective perimeter incase any more vines or other things attempted to attack.

“Whatever you plan to do,” he said to those still behind him, “we don’t know how much time we have before this thing tries something else.”

He would stand ready to defend against any physical attacks against him or those behind him, even is he had to jump in front of those attacks.

As ideas about the orb fly around Ulthok keeps tab on the healing that is done. When someone cries out that they are running out of healing spells his attention is drawn back from his thoughts on the orb and he speaks, Why are healing spells being used I gave Rayne almost 2 full vials of extra healing potions that is 7 doses so we could save on the healing spells, unless you think saving the healing potions is a better idea. Anywho I want Rayne to keep hold of the potions it may be a good idea to keep them somewhat divided as they say not all your eggs in one basket.
Then hearing the question about cold spells he will again speak up, Why yes I have some cold spells that could be used if we think that is the key to this puzzle.

With the brake in the action Conall removed a torch from his pack, if there is any fire around he will light it on any fire if there is any if not he will light it. Once the torch is lit he will see if there is anything he can do. If there is nothing then, “Ok when this wall goes down I will do what I can to keep the plants away as those with what ever means at their disposal kills the orb.”

Another thought hits Rayne. "Okay magic users does anyone have darkness 10 foot radius. It is one way of concealing that orb and perhaps if it can't see it can't use its ray."

For the moment everything was calm, the wall of Ice providing a needed break for healing and catching ones breathe. Though the parties foes this test were only plants and a Globe they had proven tougher to beat then one would think helped in turn by the misfortune of karma.

With healing being offered and accepted the talk of a next move was paramount each having his own thinking on the matter, in the end of the first turn of ‘rest’ nothing was truly decided but each member made ready as they believed best.

Ulthoks question of spells vs potions was a good one and as he moved among the others waiting for an answer, he began to notice more and more water seemingly increasing upon the floor and it was with a sense of something wrong that he checked his spell created Ice Wall.

To his dismay, he found it to be melting!!....

Then almost at once, the mage inside him kicked in and he knew what was wrong. The enclosed room having suffered a large explosion and Haila’s fiery meteors before that was hot, very, very hot. What the party had not realized in the heat of combat was that the heat inside the room had risen and now was melting the Wall protecting them at a fast rate and Ulthok knew they did not have 11 turns to decide what to do; at best, they had maybe 4 turns left.

The time, as it always seemed, for the party short a plan of action was needed to be decided upon. For if, not and with the Wall soon to be gone the parties’ quest mayhap was to end here in defeat......


(OK as posted you have 4 turns to decide what you are going to do before we return to combat rounds. I will go over the posts and add healing as posted so keep an eye on your HP LvL’s Also Dragonmist ya got a great roll on your INT to realize y the wall was melting, extra grrrrr to you. Ok then N.P.N.S)

While waiting to see who else might need curing, Cor used his 5 remaining cure light wounds spells on himself for they were of little use during combat and he wanted to save the better spells for later.

"I think if we try darkness on the orb we may not be able to see it ourselves, not sure if it gives off heat for even us with infravision to see it. Since teh darn thing teleports itself it could very well save against teh spell and render it useless. In the same manner our attacks need to be timed almost perfectly or it will blink away before we can hit it. Perhaps a count-down and then we all attack together?"

OOC: Anyone who still needs healing please post that you ask Cor so I can make the appropriate posts to do so.

(OOC: Ok I don’t think Cor responded to Haila’s gesture for attention.. Therefore..)

Kenji notices that Haila is injured and having trouble trying to talk; seeing the ice wall is holding back the danger for now, he turns and sheaths his katana. Kneeling next to the injured Haila, he pulls out his healing potions and sits them down next to them.

“You jaw appears to be dislocated,” the Samurai says examining her, “I can set it if you will allow it.” (assuming she nods agreement). He reaches out and places one hand on each side of her jaw and takes it firmly in his grip.

“Be warned,” he says, “this will hurt a little.”

Having been in many battles, and set his own injuries and those of his fellow Samuari, Kenji knows enough to set a simple dislocated jaw. With a firm hand, and a quick motion, he sets her jaw back into place.

“There,” he says releasing her head, “you should be able to speak again.”

He reaches down and picks up one of his bottles of healing potions, he gives her the bottle containing a single dose left.

“That should help you regain some of your strength,” he says with a nod and taking the other bottle. He take a single dose out of his remaining full bottle.

After she had taken the potion he waits with the last doses of healing potions and asks her, “How do you feel?”

Divot saw his shield fly towards the orb and then be stuck in a wall of ice that formed out of nowhere. "Figures, I can't seem to do anything right." he muttered to himself.

After a moment he realized he still hurt pretty bad and Cor asked if anyone needed healing. "Good cleric, I hate to mention it but I could use a bit of fixing after my last bone-headed move." Divot waited for the lecturing and hoped for some pity.

Rayne uses Cure Serious on Althena, and Dure Moderate on Civot, (With those used, She will gandage everyone's wounds that she can using her healing skills (skill check).

Conall, with torch in hand and shield close by he waits the melting of the ice wall. As he listens to all the talk of healing going on behind him he can’t help it, a small smile drifts across his face. As his mind dwells on the thought that brought on the smile it soon grows and with it Conall burst out in a good hearty laugh.

Rayne is starled as she is rendering first aid to those in need by a sudden hearty laugh, she quickly turns to discover the source of the laughter is Connell

Rayne then turns back to her first aid efforts. It what she can do right now that will help the party the most.

Rayne also realized that they would have to stop after this long enough for the clerics and agic users to pray or memorize new spells, and for there to be some healing. They would eventually kill themselves off if they kept going in in the condition they were in. Sure time was of the essence but rushing forward unable to heal toe use bital spells was more fool hardy and definitely to be avoided.

However, they had to get out this room before they could even consider pausing..

With another turn gone and the Ice Wall yet lower the party was quickly running out of time to decide just what to do about the foe they faced…The Globe above them. They knew within the next turn due to its height above them Ice Wall or no Wall it would be able to once again see them and attack if it so desired.

Some of the party healed, others not, it stood to reason that when the battle was once again joined a fight it truly would be, perhaps the parties last. With talks of lets do this or let’s do that nothing really was decided. Each member of the party as had seemingly become the norm deciding for him or her what they would do when the wall came down at last.

However, for the moment they proposed this or that secure in the safety of the moment, a moment that lasted only a few seconds more.
With an earth shattering screech Niamedris ESP ability struck the whole party at once in warning… the plants, the plants, they regrow…
Around the party, true to the Elfin cats warning, the plants were growing once again.........


(OK gentle folk Intermission is over the battle part 2 has begin. It is now round one and the plants though growing fast are once again in their infant stage. I will send an updated map to YeOlde by tomorrow eve and let you all go from there.
