"I have had many experiences with evil and death," Dusk said coolly, taking another step forward but letting go of the dagger's hilt. "Enough to have a good understanding of the former and with the latter. Though you may have been devastated by a werebeast before, you mistake a mortal race for a demon."

Dusk looked from the cub to the hunter again, standing easy but prepared.

"A child is innocent of its birth, no matter the crimes of its parents. Evil is not inflicted by race anymore than by gender," the elf said to the human. "I do not believe you to be evil, either, and either death would solve nothing. Simply misinformed. Leave the child. Whether it lives or dies is not up to a human."

((Dusk will wait. If the hunter makes a move towards the cub, Dusk will use his Ghost Step:Ethereal ablility and intercept him with the Adamantine Ninjato and a Ghost Strike.))

"You might want to stand back," said the man. "That lycanthropic spawn is going to die."

Dusk watched the final breath of the elder beast sigh into the gentle breeze. The cub looked back and forth between the humanoids.

"Hold. Who are you to cast such judgment?" The elf called as he took a step forward, gesturing at the cub with one hand while slipping the other to the hilt of one dagger. "This is but a child."

Dusk's eyes met briefly with his predator before he stood quickly. The emaciated tiger pounced, or tried to. With a low and weak growl, it stopped a few feet from the elf and turned away. Dusk watched it as it moved off. The great cats, along with most other predators of their size, were not stupid and usually attacked humanoid creatures only when very desperate.

Dusk was surprised to see that it had come at him. The desperation he had glimpsed was incredible.

"What has the state of this world come to?" he said aloud, almost as if asking the poor beast. He had no rations of any kind in his pack to give the creature. If nothing else, he still retained most of an elf's love of flora and fauna.

((Dusk will watch the tiger leave, making sure it is a decent distance away before turning his back on it and leaving. He will continue to make Spot and Listen checks.))

Subject: A start, finally

A gentle breeze washed over the sea of light brown and green grasses that filled the flatlands of Tiancann. A raptor circled overhead, its eyes searching the ground for the scurry of rodents that would signal its next chance at a meal. The waves in the grass did not make the hunter’s job any easier. Nor did the island, the animal laying the grass that did not belong there, neither being predator nor prey indigenous to this land. The raptor knew this creature was not going to bother aiding in his search for a meal and so glided onwards, flapping a few times to catch a warm air updraft and soaring off into the west.

Dusk was settled, even though it was not yet sundown. The grass was cool and inviting and no one but the occasional field mouse or grasshopper intruded on his small corner of the vast plains.

The road was not that far away. Occasionally his ears would hear many sounds in the grass, even the clatter of a wagon wheel and the clomp of horses’ hooves. Some traveling group had passed this day while he lay there. A group was not uncommon in these times. A lone man, however, was quite unusual.

Then again, a lone man is only unusual if someone notices him. And Dusk was not keen on being noticed. Not unless he wanted to be.

But even here, in the serene prairies, something still felt off. He had been traveling for a long time now, and the days and weeks were beginning to blend with the months. One of the things that wasn’t blending was his talent for knowing when he was being watched by more than hawks.

Or perhaps just hawks of a different species, he thought. Slender black gloves drew the hood of his grey cowl over his point ears and short cropped blonde hair. He sat up quickly in the tall grass, glancing around to see if whoever, or whatever, was seeking him was stupid or confident enough to show themselves before he hopped to his feet and began making his way parallel to the road, continuing in his previous direction of travel.

((6 pages already? I'm impressed. Most games I play in don't reach that for some time. But I like to take my time in things. Sometimes.

Arynül will move even if he spots anyone or anything.))

I will buy a (black, large) golf shirt with the RDInn logo on the left breast (www.rdinn.net on one sleeve mebe?). Also, I would be down for a Knights T-shirt with a dragon on the back, smiling with a thumbs-up (if not two).

Artist anywhere? I don't know any and don't have the software (or skills) to do it myself.

Also, simpler but still awesome:

Large, forest green Tee, white lettering:

Kaene’s tale did not resonate with Raen. Though it was likely her lack of faith, or commitment to any faith, Raen did not feel like her trust could so easily be put into this man and his toy. Seeing the orb was not a great revelation and despite the fact that she knew the power of the gods and their will, it was difficult to register whether this was in fact happening or if it was just some paranoid old man with a shiny glass ball.

“Nice bedtime story. But say we agree to tracking Rakdos, the vampire who did kill someone here, and say we find him, with his multitude of collected artifacts, and lets even suppose that we through his minions and guards and defenses so that we can maybe try and kill him. What the hells are we going to do then?” Raen said. “And what does that thing even do?”

[Post-explanation]

“So, if I understood this whole story, Rakdos needs this thing here along with the other major divine artifacts to break this seal, correct? Then if he’s missing one of the pieces, won’t the whole deal just not work?” said Raen. “Why don’t we just destroy the shiny thing and be done with it? If it doesn’t exist, Rakdos would be missing the piece or source of Magnagoth’s will and wouldn’t be able to break the seal, right?”

“I guess the real question is: should I stay or should I go? I know if I stay there will be trouble, and if I go there will probably be double. I wish you’d just let me know if I should stay or should I just go?”

((Vil you bugger.))

The feeling of a blade slicing through flesh, whether it is undead, living or something else entirely, is exhilarating. Success, pride, and adrenaline all mixed with some primal urge to utterly destroy your foe all built up to that killing blow. That is how a fighter must do battle. Anything less and you end up as a pile of bloody meat on the ground.

Raen did not feel worried at dropping her shield and tossing her longsword. The greatsword felt fluid in her hands and was easy to maneuver up and over her shoulder into a downward strike even as the vampire turned to see where the longsword had come from. The end of her blade bit into the vampire’s chest-piece, the tip coming off bloody. Without hesitation, she drew another line across the retreating creature’s front. A dark drop of the liquid fell on the ground and more began to stain the leather around the new wounds.

Raen’s lips curled in a smile that almost became a sneer at the creature. He was wounded, backed into a corner and without an escape route. The feral attacked again with her claws, clawing away as the vampire tried to dodge the attacks. A pair of arrows zipped past and lodged themselves into the creature even as the half-elf fumbled, nearly being hit by his own man’s arrow.

With a growl, the unholy creature backed into the corner, grasping with one hand for the limp and blood-soaked body of the necromancer. Even as Raen readied another swing, the vampire leapt up the wall, dragging the body with him. Loosing a final hiss towards the Ecclesiarch, the vampire disappeared with a loud crack.

“Fu**er!” cursed Raen, slamming a fist on her armored thigh. Another person was dead and this time there wasn’t even a body to recover. With their luck, the vampire would be able to turn the necromancer into one of his own and send him back against them with a vengeance.

Raen rolled her right arm, resettling her armor, before walking to her pack and taking out of a rough cloth tucked in a side pocket. The cloth was stained dark from use and most could tell it had only one purpose. As she wiped her blade’s tip clean and sheathed it, the feral paladin, Katriana, came over, laying a hand on her shoulder.

“Ragnarok, bless those who are stalwart in battle sister,” said the feline humanoid. Raen felt a chilling warmth spread into her shoulder and shuddered for a moment but felt no pain or stiffness in the wound.

“My thanks, milady,” replied Raen. She stood and retrieved both her shield and longsword, cleaning the steel rim and blade before sheathing the sword and laying both beside her pack.

"I think we deserve some answers to our questions," said the ranger who appeared across the room from where Raen stood, the spell of invisibility no longer needed without the presence of their foes.

“I think we deserve a lot more than just answers,” added Raen as she motioned around the room and to the body of the priest. “But first is this place safe now? And if it is, we should get him out of here. We all may be killers, but that doesn’t mean we enjoy the presence of the dead. At least, I do not.”

I like the "Bell Curve" T-shirt. I've heard it as "You don't have to outrun the as long as you outrun all the other "

In Rdinn terms:

You don't have to outrun the dragon so long as you outrun all the other adventurers.

Also for the "how I roll" I would consider it if it went:

"Rdinn.com

[Die]

This is
how I roll"

on the back (plain front).
