Sad part is, I am now worried as to WHAT it is, hving no body heat... but, I suppose as a Human Swashbuckler, I am assuming it is human anyways.

Mal continued to watch the little spat between the Syls, keeping his racist comments to himself. He understood where both were coming from, he supposed, and thinking back, he was glad Alan had done what he had done. Had it been left to the Swashbuckler, they would have been standing in that room back through the portal for a very long time.
But, what was done was done, and Mal was just happy that there were no portals that he could see on the stair cases.

"Seems we mostly be agreein' then. Up them stairs we-" He cut off as, quite suddenly, a figure appeared from the staircase they were planning on acsending, clothed in black, and holding a.... wooden sword? The swashbuckler grinned as he raised his Saber, though his mirth was short lived as the candles all blew out, leaving him in utter darkness.

Growling, knowing this changed things, he simply threw himself forward towards the last place he had seen the Syl mage, hoping to take the strike before it hit Alan. He didn't know what this black-clad man was capable of, but he guessed that he had more chance of surviving the blow than the frail magic-weaver....

((Actions: Attempt to cover Alan, and take the strike to myself. 50% hoping to block Alan, 50% hoping to make myself the prime target, carrying a sword an all, and make the ninja dude decide to purposely hit me instead.))

just wondering right quick, will this be continuing in the ld 'single stone' thread, or taking on a new one now that it has new players and all? not really sure how it all works, so figured I would ask.

To the haughty elf and the ranger that already told Mal his orders mean exactly squat to him? oh no, I think that may only ignite the already sparking powder keg. but jus sayin, love the drama of it so far, cant wait to ee where this goes.

Subject: sorry im late..

Mal appeared into the wine cellar, right behind Al, saber raised and ready for battle. However, he now realized he looked extremely foolish as he looked around at the bottles of wine and the like.
Still, he didn't let down his guard, only allowing his saber to dip into a less threatening stance. It didn't matter how safe this place seemed. The swashbuckler was already convinced that this entire place was rigged to kill intruders and explorers. Only the dim hope of salvation could drive them on, knowing that they must continue forward because there is nothing behind that promotes life. But what did they hope to find at the end of this? A portal home? A ship? Unlikely.....
Mal sighed, completely ignoring the others as he contemplates what chances they have of survival....

He had to admit, there odds were still better treking forward through this place, rather than going back to the empty island. But, what foul horrors lay before them? What impossible tasks must they soon complete, only to be presented with a bloody, gruesome death?

'I be becomin' a priest of the Sea Lady, if'n I get outta here....' The warrior thought to himself glumly, only just realizing the other party members had made it this far.
Looking around again, Mal noticed the floor.... Dusty, but recently disturbed...... How recently? Well, he was hardly a tracker, but he didn't think it mattered. Wether a week old, or an hour, there was something else in here... And be it human, or some terrible monster, The Swashbuckler doubted it would be friendly....

Subject: lets try for a better result....

Hodges continues with his momentum, ignoring the blaster bolts that streak by closer than he cared to admit, bringing his rifle up, barrel mere inches from the new B1's face, and fires, hoping to end it quickly as the need to seal his suit rapidly becomes more and more important, but unwilling to do so until the major threat is eliminated.

However, the need is soon too much, and again, the clone was moving before he even watched to see if his attack was successful and he slips to the left of the droid, and out of Slayt's way, his back slamming into the wall as he focuses on sealing his suit, cursing his stupidity for not doing so when the droids had begun cutting a hole in the roof.

He recalled briefly being scolded on numerous occassions for forgetting these minor, yet life saving details back in basic training. And now, because of his poor preperation skills, it was possible he would die, in the first fire fight he had been in in this war.....

Subject: Need a new web comic

So, this past year I have really gotten into web comics. Like, alot. But after GitPG, darths&droids, DM of the rings, I just can't seem to find any more good ones. Im looking for more in the fantasy/D&D genres, but everything I find seems to be lacking. I am looking for a web comic with a good storyline, decent art. A comedy one works, but a serious one would be even better still.
Any suggestions?

(Also, I am about to look up some SW comics, but not sure which ones are the best. Would love a good mandolorian one, or really anything that has little/nothing to do with the main characters of the movies.)

Sellikus growled as the commander unit droid took off through the trees, his units decommissioned and scattered.
"Should we follow it?" One clone asked, but the Kiffar wasn't waiting for a reply. He began sprinting after the clanker commander, calling over his shoulder, "I'll be back in two shakes!" in his thick Kiffex accent, and disappeared through the trees in hot pursuit of the droid, leaving Cam and the others to speak with the battered troopers they had saved.

Sellikus had no use for talking right now. Not with something ahead to kill. Besides, what did he really have to say? He was part of the spec ops team, but only a hired gun. Wether they were or weren't reinforcements, it didn't matter to the Kiffar.
No, this was where he belonged, chasing down enemies and snuffing out their miserable lives. Truly, it was his place, as the mercenary wore much less armor than the troopers, and carried less gear. He was faster alone, and quieter. With the group, he was an agile soldier, but out here, alone, he was the hunter, the predator. He smiled to himself at that thought. Yes, he was the predator, and his metallic prey could not escape.........

I try not to tell many people, but yes, I like some poetry, and this one was good. the best ones, such as this one, draw you in, and make you feel exactly what the writer feels (Or what it seems the writer feels, in the case of those writers good enough to be happy and warm while writing a cold, sad poem), but you get my drift.

Subject: we are.... alive!

The Swashbuckler cleaned his blade on his pant leg, still amazed that it had been so simple. He had never seen a priest at work against any form of undead, but he had to admit, he was impressed with the power they wielded. He considered briefly that he should have probably taken the opportunity he had been presented long ago to become a cleric of the Sea Goddess. Briefly. He still trusted in his saber more than magics.

"Most impressive, Khord. You as well, Cidal. I've not seen anythin' of the like in my whole life."

He jumped again as the other Cidal, Wembley, opened the closet, revealing half a dozen skeletons. His saber was raised, and poised to strike before he realized they were TRULY dead. Breathing a sigh, he shakes his head and lowers his blade. He didn't even pay the Syl wizard any heed, until he noticed him return to the previous room, mentioning volunteering to move through a portal.
Eyes widening, he turned and followed. But as he entered the first room, shouting to wait, the Syl was already moving through. Cursing, he shouted to the others, "Well boys, our job ain't done yet. We likely now need to go save the wizard. Wouldn't surprise me if'n the fool appeared in a bloody dragon's den." He exaggerated with a frown, and followed through the portal, saying a silent prayer to Cardista to protect him in this new, and evil place.....

Mal sighs as it seems the magic users wanted that room, for some reason or another. To him, it just seemed that they were to fight the horde rather than use the portal.... just to take another portal. It was a waste of time, and the Swashbuckler couldn't stop imagining being eaten alive by so many tiny zombies. But it seemed the party's mind was made up.
Shaking his head and raising his saber yet again, he steeled his resolve, admitting that he was still better off than the wizard, who wore no real armor.

"Alright, alright, let's be getting this nasty business done then." He growled, trying not to think about the horrible smell that awaited.

Subject: meh EDIT AFTER SEEING MAP

Sellikus looked over the ensuing battle, and a disgusted frown creased his face. The troopers outnumbered the droids, and if you asked the Imperial Commanders, any soldier was worth a dozen droids. But here, a mere seven B1 battle droids had the unit on their heels, and were gaining ground.
"Pathetic..." He muttered in his native language, and without waiting for orders, let the blaster rifle he had salvaged hang from it's strap on his shoulder, and drew his DL-18 Blaster Pistols, taking off to the side and crashing through the brush, hardly feeling stealth was of any consequence in this.
As he forced his way around through the brush, off the trail, he grinned as the commanding B1 came into sight. But there was a B1 between him and the so-obvious leader of the droid unit, and the Kiffar mercenary would need to remove it first. He continued to charge it until it saw him as well, before slamming his back against a tree, turning so he almost hugged it, and fired a volley of blaster bolts at the ill-positioned droid soldier, trusting his unit, and the dying troopers, to keep the other clankers busy......

((Actions: Move North-West by map standards, using the 3rd highest, left most tree for cover, and firing on the farthest left droid.))

Kal'Ar looks to his companions, grins, and stands.
"Well, you heard the man." He growls, stretching his massive blue limbs. "Seems we got all the information we are going to get. Suppose it's high time we get going. Sooner we go, sooner we get back, sooner I can start spending my hard-earned cash."

He barks a rough laugh, and folds his arms, waiting for the Thief and the Mage, eyes staying on them so as to ignore the many folks starring at him. Though it seemed unneeded to wait for them to stand before heading to the door, Kal'Ar felt he had to always watch over the two. As though it were his duty to keep them from any kind of harm, even in these, the safest of places. Honestly, it just made him feel useful, giving him a purpose that he had so long lacked after his defeat in the great arena. It was a subject he never cared to speak of, even though he knew that everyone knew. That was the worst part. Everyone knew. Most had seen it. He had been bested in combat by that little feline woman in front of thousands of people. And there were a number of those people that had lost a great deal of money in that fight, and would love a chance to get ahold of Kal'ar and put his head on a pike..... But they would not find it easy to do so......

As the sickly mice make their way toward the group, Wembley closes the door shut once more. "Maybe we should try the portal," the cidal smiled back to the rest of his companions.

Mel clears his throat, ignoring the crawling sensation he gets from the sight. "...Aye" He grunts, stifling a gag. "That be one o' the most horrid things I ever seen... An' I seen some horrid things...."
He looks around at the rest of the group, regaining his composure. "I ain't to be knowing how you boys feel about bein' eaten alive by those nasty lil critters, but I be in agreement with Wembley and Alan at this point. The portal be soundin' better an better to me....."

'If that be only the first room, I be thinkin the Khord was right...' He thought to himself. 'This be seeming like something a crazy evil mage would cook up. What else lies in wait for us? I be needin' a drink.....'

Mal did not like one bit of what he was hearing from his companions. Between the Wizard's belief that the wooden door might just be more dangerous, and the Khord's theory of this place being the creation of some old, powerful, and rightly insane mage, he wasn't so sure he preferred this place any more than the cold dead island above....

"I still ain't likin' the idea of goin' through that portal.... At least with the door, we know we won't be popped into some room, totally surrounded by gods know what.... Though I do be thinkin' that Wembley there might consider checkin' the door fer traps and the like..." He says, eyeing the Cidal with a half-grin.
"Whaddya say, mate? Care to make sure our road be clear?"

He stands, lifting his Saber, assuming everyone was ready to go, and not caring much if they were wanting to stay. He knew they shouldn't stay. comfortable as the room was, there was no additional food or water, and his hopes weren't exactly raised for the idea of a rescue party.

Hodges did not have time to respond to Riggs, as the droids finished their cut, a large slab of metal crashing to the floor, followed immediately by 4 B1 droids, blasters raised and ready to fire. Wasting no time, Hodges quick-steps forward, turning his gun and aiming a blunt smash for the nearest Droids facial plate, then ducking as he spins away to the left, not waiting to see if his attack had done any damage, and fires at the next B1 standing in the hall between the Dorm and security room at point blank range
