"Talca, I don't need nae magics to know...those folk are fishy. And not breaded, fried, with taters either." She pulled to the side, balancing on the tip of the sword, to raise her boots from the muck around them.

The Khord crossed forward, calming words, direction taken to reach across to the folk as beraggled as she felt. Did she look like them? Humming to herself, she waited to see how the others would act and steps to take.

The weather had been a downtrodden mess of frustration. The rising mist as eerie as you could get. The reflecting of sound, or worse some headless bodiless whispering thing out there, frogs even. Kith'jora be damned, she hated frogs. Rather a wight from some wronged man hanged along the road wanting them to pay some toll than a bullfrog.

She waited, judged, eager to slink off into the mist to join it if the Khord screamed or was pin-cushioned with arrows or what not.

Subject: This bunny went to market

There's a time and place for everything. Good meals? Break out the fork and burp mightily after. Couple of the gents wandering off to wash? Find a tree, hide, and watch with some snacks. Blistering heat with random drizzle followed by miles of...

"Blech." Pepper grumbled under breath, loud enough to hear on the road among friends. "I feel like ahm' twisted up worse than a man surrounded by belly dancers. My shirt is in knots under this damned..." The rest died in grunts and huffs.

With a series of writhing wiggles and daring arm shoves under her armor, Pepper did the unthinkable, and would have earned a couple coppers for the amusement in Ethryn: somehow unbuttoned and yanked her shirt from inside her armor.

Something was terribly off about everything. No one laughed at her jokes or even blinked as she unbridled herself of a shirt, now still sticky in leather. Rae then punctuated the foreboding with an altogether terrifying proclamation.

"They walk strangely." Rae observed, "Perhaps an illness has pressed its advantage with the advent of this fog? Though for it to be so quick is peculiar."

"Oh that's all we need. Sniffles and disease to go with the foot rot in my squelchy boots." She tied the shirt back around her waist, deftly hefting free Ol' One Eye from a sheath. The long sword had a crude bit of etching in the widest part of blade somewhat resembling an eye. "Want a closer look?"

Don't say yes...don't say yes...do not want sneezing for weeks or my bits falling off later!

After drawing the Audalis map, I took some time away from maps. And then started working on a new one for a friend for her novel. The novels are going to be fantastic...seriously good and for Young Adult.

So first lines, yes click these are HUGE. This is still in progress but you can see why I want to redraw audalis lines now!
CLICK FOR MAP! (I will update with the latest WIP soon)

And the zoomed in finished piece in plain B&W for her first novel.

NOW FOR THE REAL NEW MAPS!! I am really loving these maps. Click and see!

Lines started digital (Manga Studio 5):

More lines and color, digital (Manga Studio 5):
click!

Next plans!
* Add in the proper Kachiri Isles
* Add a bit missing for the Tiborn from the very first map I drew
* Add the Hidden Isles
* Add legends and tons in the waters
* Work on coloration and details...I might even redraw the lines. I honed the technique for digital with another map I'm working on.

What I've done but haven't posted yet:
* Added nation lines
* Moved and resized all isles around Antaron
* Started revising content to match the original elven maps

I plan on having one massive map, in multiple saved versions.
* Everything including nation lines, flags, city shields, roads, ruins, etc
* Without all the cities and lines etc displayed, just the lines and color

OPEN REQUEST:
If you have info for bits and pieces, places and more in Audalis and would like it added to the map, I could use the input.

It's been tremendously FAR too long. So it's time to bring back some art and dig into the Audalis map. I've learned a great deal over the years, and refined the ol' drawing skills a goodly bit. But there is far more to learn!

I'll start a WIP for the audalis map. I redrew it, painted it, and now revising it heavily!

Without further ado, some stuff. I have a ton of new things I need to scan and save.

These look like fantastic characters! Writing novels is fun, don't worry at all.

On a side note about how Yana posts:
I'll be careful to let folks know when the character is thinking (italics and no quotes) and talking (normal looking dialog). Sometimes I think it's fun to type out the inner thoughts. Especially if someone has some serious skills in reading faces or whatever.

Topic: Buried Evil Q&A
Subject: Hello here's PEPPER

Julia "Pepper" Montgomery

What YOU know:
* She has a lute that is old and split, held together with twine, glue, and luck.
* She can play and knows a fair many funny tales.
* She is totally a bard. TOTALLY.
* She has a habit of stabbing things to death if they deserve it.
* She wears the most god awful mixed clothing.
* She carries around a crude holy symbol of most faiths, but doesn't really pray to any. It's "Just In Case" faith.
* She is really not a bard. Maybe. Sorta? No she is. Wait. She just stole a chicken and that guy never noticed...
* She's great at disguises, tumbling, and entertaining.
* She has found ways to get her coin back after buying something and calls it taxation taxing.

STR: Pretty strong, arm wrestle at your PERIL! Check out the Guns! *flex*
DEX: Kills flies with chopsticks.
CON: She tries to put up a good fight with colds...
INT: She seems smart enough to know when she's out-swindeled.
WIS: She seems to know when not to repeat stupid things, for the third time.
CHA: Here for the song, stayed for the conversation!

Alias:

* Pepper the Bard in Ertain
* Rose the Troubadour in Coria
* Mocker in the thieves' guilds (where ever those are!)

Born into service, Julia like her family worked in the orchards of Lockshir in Ertain. She had many a grand dream of what the future would be, chasing the boys with swords and coming up with witty quips to tease. She had a fancy with words, something that led her into a fair few problems. Whenever she could skip away, she dressed up as a lad and went with the caravans to drop off deliveries to the Naymir Vineyards and small towns about.

Eventually this little trick got her into a right awful mess as the caravan she last ran off with in her teens sought the city of Ethryn.

The caravaners weren't too happy to find the lad a lass, leaving her in the city. Soon enough the witty mind and quick fingers urged her to snag food for her tummy. Then a place to sleep. Only to wake in the middle of the night by an older rogue finding a sneak thief in his turf.

Kresser the QuickBlade revealed himself, angry and grumpy at finding the girl. He took her in, and gave her a place, but the cost was apprenticeship and a tenure of years with a cut of her profits. And Julia quickly learned she had a fantastic skill at it!

From a tender teen age well to twenty years, she learned how to use blades and swords at Kresser's side. How to pick out a mark. How to break and enter. How to sense a trap be it built or ambush of people. She's had a few bad moments, earning a scar over her right eyebrow. The danger though is more a thrill, to not be caught or once caught to get free and gloat about it.

Life was excellent. She enjoyed playing the life of a bard as a cover, the true talents of a rogue, giving a cut to Kresser, and spending away her own coin. She decided to get her hands on some great treasure, a pretty thing bought and not stolen. And that meant coin. So she took a mark unlike any other, worth more than the rest, to kill a man. She kept thinking of it as nothing more than a theft gone badly, until seeing him with his family, the happiness so much like the family she left behind. It killed her inside as she slid the blade into his throat.

She left immediately, running from the city, from that life, the moment he gurgled his last. For years she ran using different names to different towns and cities across a couple of nations. Now she is back in Ertain, hoping the past forgot her, and a tad bit older if not wiser for the journey.

The Scam: She pretends to be a bard! She has a lute, can play it, and knows many tales. She may even have some skill in it. But her true talents are as a rogue. The bardic in her is just a cover, a fantastic way for people to tell her secrets and let her in.

Personality: She enjoys the public eye, transforming into a talkative and jesting sort. She's quick to tease and play the lute, always has some story about a situation. Her true self is a bit more somber and thoughtful, though only a rare few friends see that, and sometimes the bartender that gets her sauced.

Appearance: Julia has shoulder length blonde hair and hazel eyes. She keeps a braid or two in her hair, a jaunty cap with rooster feathers typically on her head. She wears a mix of mismatched dyed leathers and blouses, all bright and cheery, with wear and tear of her journeys. She has a few daggers and thin blades tucked within the leathers and boots, a sword at her side.

Fighting Style: Longer the sword, the closer to heaven. She fights with long swords named Ol One Eye and Out Back. "Looks like you need go on Out Back." *STAB* Yeah she's a hoot! She also loves tumbling in and out of people, trying to steal some tasty snack or coin along the way. Killing though is not her aim unless the person is truly dastardly. Someday this will changed. Someday the swords will mete out ends for sheer folly of endings. But not yet. Not just yet.

Oh right specifics:
Rogue...I had you going there right right?
Chaotic Good
26
5'9"
good natured
rarely mad
and itching for some mayhem!

“Everything’ shiny here, Tess?” Wyatt asked.

Tess tossed her eyes over on Wyatt, keeping the look simple and clean. No need to get him involved yet, unless there was something involved. Enough panties found themselves all twisted up without somewhere nice to head on to, or real excitement it seemd to enjoy.

"Yes sir Captain. This here is Kiddo, Beatrix Kiddo. Licensed to Courier. She's got some attention from those big boys hanging on the gate and their master in the white duds."

She gave Wyatt a flat look like usual, as if this was nothing more than the usual dog and pony show. She had a bit more to say, but the girl found her voice.

The timid little creature came forward then, giving her piece though it needed more time to warrent out a real response. “Glad to meet you Captain.” She seemed all sorts of afraid, not all of it an act far as Tess could reckon. “I was trying to explain to your Pilot here is that I believe those men along with their employer are after my case here and I.. well frankly Captain they frighten me and … “

”Wolf, we're taking the other shuttle. Ash, get to the starboard shuttle with Willow or the Captain. There's a situation you guys need to deal with." John’s voice came over the comm drawing Wyatt’s attention from the story unfolding. But a story it was that Tess had to ferret out.

“Perhaps a more direct approach would work." Those eyes widened like porridge bowls, staring up at her with this sort of silent plea. Normally the heart strips didn't pull, but something about her left Tess eager to toss her behind and yank a gun. “Excuse me, I think I will go see what it is these men want.”

Tess knew better. The girl hadn't gotten a step or two before she got her feet moving. Leaning in, she spoke matter of factly. "'Course, ah think checking into their interests a mighty fine investment of time." Fingers pulled just enough at Jessy's arm to speak the intention. That smile of her kept nicey nice, all shiny. But the eyes weren't as flat as usual. They gave a nice reply.

Get behind me if you need. Else you have a copilot on this juncture.
