Working Up Character

Well I've already mentioned I'm interested in the High Bast character and I'm working the little feline up. Just downloaded the book and glanced over it, neat pics, and yeah looks like it could be lots of fun.
I gotta get some stuff done today and have some plans tomorrow, but I'll get down and dirty with the book as soon as I can and get details worked out to send off to you Vesper

I like...

I've taken a look at the book an I'm definitely intrigued. Seems like we could create a very interesting game. I've got a character concept going, Iara is from Colombia and has a rather lovely past life. Hope to have her done soon.

Question - Necromancy

I've been working up the char sheet for my little kitty. And I've noticed that for Necromancy it says you usually use the Necromancy Skill and then a related Atribute in order to accomplish the effect, but I can't seem to find a Necromancy Skill anywhere to purchase.
Anybody have any insight on this?
Thanks,
M.

Meri

The Necromancy Skill is bought at a cost of 2 points per level until level 5, and 5 points per level thereafter.
Each Necromantic element is purchased as a separate power, at the cost of 3 points per level until level 5, and
6 points thereafter. This price must be paid for each power; it is perfectly possible to have Death Speech at
level 5 and Death Control at level 2, for example. Beginning characters can choose between buying relatively
low power levels in all four Necromantic elements, or specializing in one or two of them at high levels.

This is on pg 237 of the rulebook... basically if you want 2 levels of the Necromancy skill (which seems to be a pre-req for the other necro skills) it'll cost you 4 points at character creation... post CC it'll cost 5 points per level.

Does that help?

But of course...

...always a pleasure to help out don't ya know?

BTW 'Detective' Alex Sharpe is all but done, just need to write up a nifty little narrative to 'get into the guy's head' and I'll be ready to roll... no pun intended.

A Little Prework

Eol and I are doing some free form preplay to work out our characters. Which is what the thread "The Sharpeness of Smoke" is about in the Creativity Forum.
Enjoy reading if you'd like.

HELP

Where can we find the Witchcraft book, We have downloaded the Uniforge for Windows, but Eol suggested that we should read the book before creating a character.

Also we downloaded the Uniforge for Windows, but when I try to open it I get a message "Pleased select a data file. Uniforge will not work without an xml data file."

Help? That's what I do!

DM - the Witchcraft 'core rules' is avaialable as a free download from drivethrurpg.com. Easiest to find it by going to the site and selecting Eden Publishing (or is it Eden Press) from the "By Publisher" dropdown. You will need to create and account (which is also free) in order to download the thing.

As to the UniForge... when it asks for that file, point it at the witchcraftdata.xml file (you'll find it in the systemdata subdirectory of the Uniforge Directory)

Holler at me if it still gives you fits... I am the helpdesk.

P.S. I strongly recommend reading the book (especially the chapter on character creation) before using this generator because, while it does make character creation a lot neater, it still kind of relies on you knowing the rules and how the creation points work... I noticed that it doesn't always stop you from taking too much or allocating too many points where, techincally, they shouldn't be allowed.

P.P.S. It's become apparent to me that Rerelae is an absolute wizard at character creation (seemingly regardless of the system) and was even gracious enough to double check Alex when I got him finalized. If you talk real nice to her, I'll bet she'd be happy to help out, too.

Character Creation

I read the first few chapters of the book, still need to spend some time with the rules chapter, but I found that the character creation was so simple that I didn't even bother with the generator. Just copied the char sheet in the back and filled it out.
Although... maybe I should try to sweet talk Rer into double checking it for me. lol.
But yeah this was way easy, especially compared to the migrains I got trying to figure out how to create a character in Star Wars all by myself w/out a generator, I'm surprised I just didn't have Lelain commit suicide and end the whole thing before it got started lol.
