Age Quality

Is expensive. 5 points per century to buy. Actually I think it might be the most expensive quality out there. And I think it is one of those things you have to purchase at character creation, it doesn't really make sense to have a character started in play and then buy age quality and give them a longer life suddenly.
It does say that once a character has amassed a certain essence pool (I believe it is 100) they slow the aging process down at that point, and it continues to slow as they gain more essense.
But if you want to do it, yeah definatly ask Vesper, and you will have to pick less other qualities due to the high price.
Ellgawen (Smoke) has it for kitty past lives, but trust me I had to do some hard thinking about what else to drop in order to do it.

Character Creation

Vesper has not said anything about using the alternative point system. I believe everyone else has created their character using the basic rules.

Age

I agree with Merideth regarding the Age quality. Iara has Age, and that's just about it for Qualities, couldn't afford much else.
Instead of making a character with age you can create an ageless character by purchasing Essence points. The aging process starts to slow down at 75 Essence, and stops at 200 Essence (I think). By purchasing extra Essence (1 pt = 5 Essence at creation) you can create a character with a longer lifespan, which is probably a characteristic of Sidhe blood.

Here

I have all the books from drivethrurpg. If you wish a copy of them, I can send them in an email. Any others you find digital copies of would be nice. If anybody would purchase the armageddon sourcebook and email it to me, that to would be nice. I have the others and can email them; would seem like equal trade.

If you want to be old, the age quality has to be purchased. Large amounts of essence will slow down aging process but you would not be at that point yet, your aging would just now beging to be slowing down.

Just got out of field. Humped back. Tired. Filthy. Need shower and sleep. Will go over all the posts and stuff more tomorrow when I am more alert. Plus, I am allowing an extra 15 points in char creation but you must be gifted and no putting em all in one ability, power, etc. I want variety in you char and each char must have ess chan of atleast 2.

Concerns...

You say you're going to give one type of character an extra amount of points, but how is that supposed to balance with the other types?

I'm sorry if I seem out of line, however, it makes me very uneasy; I can see there being a smaller benefit or boon that you might give, but something like this could very well unhinge game balance...

To better illustrate this effect, consider the following.

The Gifted traits as defined in the book (in terms of points) have:
-15 Attribute Points
-10 Quality Points
-25 Skill Points
-30 Metaphysics Points

Increasing the amount of points available by 15 and distributing them, and comparing the result to the Lesser Gifted type easily results with this:

-20 Attribute Points for both
-25 Quality Points for both
-30 Skill Points for both
-15 Metaphysics Points for the Lesser Gifted, 30 Points for Gifted

That is enough of a change that playing a Lesser Gifted becomes pointless, the Mundane type frowned upon (also due to the need for metaphysics), and the Bast type underpowered compared to the Gifted!

I suggest you either re-evaluate what you are doing, whether it will be to reduce the boon you wish to provide, find a better balance to the game by providing the boost to ALL character types, or eliminate the boost altogether.

extra points

all chars are gonna be gifted or be able to work metaphysical abilities in some manner. This is a requirement, sorry, no mundanes here. But expect the baddies to be balanced out as well.

You are not being very clear

Obviously Mundanes are out of the question, however, you do not address exactly where the boost goes. From your wording, it only goes to the strictly Gifted characters; Lesser Gifted and Bast do not apply. Please clarify.

Extra Points

I agree that all PC's should get the benefit of extra points and also that they must be used in at least 3 catagories with no more the 1/2 in any one area.

For our characters it means more skills to fill out their background, and attributes to fit our concept of them.

Gifted

Gifted, Lesser Gifted, and Bast ALL have the gift quality. In effect, they are all gifted and can channel their essence into metaphysical effects. Sorry for the confusion.

Oh....

Extra 15 points to put anywhere I want... *rubs hands together devilishly* Now I'll get to do some of those things I had taken off because I ran out of points! Sweet! Thanks Vesp, I'll have to work up a revised char sheet tonight and resend it to you.
Glad to hear your back and besides being tired and dirty are all good
M.

Question for Vesper

Do you have any thoughts on where this glorious tale of ours is going to take place? Or at least start from?

Finished

Hurray, those extra points helped! Had a lot of mundane background skills to create the characters we wanted. Now to do their background.

And, Yes. Knowing the setting will help in creting the background.
