At the alter Vytte had stood alone whilst lamented tears did fall

Before that dawn the alarm had rung and the soldiers took to arms
Cries rang from the battlefield

Days the battle raged until at last the enemy retreated but few returned home
Bravely they had fought

For that was their honor
Vytte rode to the blood soaked field with hope clouding her mind
Peaceful was the land
Peaceful was her groom
For in death he rested
To the Gods she called in grief to right the wrong that had been done
Against nature they replied
Against his honor they replied
For the dead should not rise
Out of the shadows came one who offered the unnatural
Promises of life taken
Promises of love unfilled
For their souls exchanged
Vows once denied were spoken before a small bridal party
The Bride appeared frightened
The Groom appeared vacant
For a dark specter watched
Suspiciously the neighbors spoke as the Groom’s comrades lay in graves
Hidden in darkness he stayed
Hidden in shame she stayed
For no others had been found alive
Still was the night the neighbors checked on them and found them
By her hand his blood was spilt

The Groom was finally buried and Vytte laid beside him
