The recap is in .wps format or Microsoft Works. You need a conversion program to make it readable in Word. I went to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/315757 for the program and it worked just fine.

Tann, you really need to upgrade to the 20th Century

I know it is the 21st Century but baby steps.

Slow down

before Cor opens anything, lets at least let a spell of 'clean' tell us if there is anything else we can learn about the room. Ulthok should also look for secret doors. once we have all of the information possible, then we open the boxes.

Hmmmmm

Well, that didn't seem to answer much.

Did the detect magic spell indicate anything about the hallway? We were wondering about illusions or such there as well.

And for the group, I think we need to look for other passages as well - secret doors or something. Before we open anything. This would be an Ulthok task, but he is not here to post.

Tann, if you'd be willing to add that info - based on earlier conversations I am sure Ulthok would have dones such a search of the entire room. But Ody is a bit busy right now. Otherwise we go another week waiting on that.

Does anyone else have any ideas? Knock on the boxes? Listen for sounds or echoes inside? Backtrack and check other rooms? Give it up and go home?

One more question to add - when you speak of the floorboards being connected - does it look like this is a big thing with 10 boxes attached - and the whole thing is "on top of the foor" - or does it look like it is a "part of the floor?"

In St.Louis............

Long drive, kind of tired. Got a meeting tomorrow at 1030 central time. Figure that will be an hour or so than I get to drive home, another 8 hour drive.

Here's a thought.. we had only meet 3 of the wraiths, which means we could kill 6 or 7 of then here (they never get to the future). So figure we are going to have some kind of battle when the boxes are opened. It will take our best attacks and magic to kill them so do your research. I think Tann let on that Limper, Howler and the female one were the strongest, so that could make the other easier to do in. Easy being relative.

Yes Ulthok would look for secret doors and Cor might be able to sense a passage. This place s full of magic so detect spells won't help a lot. Sort of like detect water in an ocean.

Thank you all for your kindnesses, my Mom is starting to recover but still a long way to go. Swelling has started to go down in her arm. Just now being able to talk in several related sentences. She is getting a bit stronger and starting to eat. Off the morphine and on pill pain killer. She can lift her arms, but can't hold anything.

I can't seem to get thoughts together for a post but I'll try to pop in ideas and thoughts from reading your Q&A's.

Greetings!!

Hi everyone! *waves*

I'm very glad to be a part of this game, and I'll try to live up to the character's and your expectations.

Odyson, I hope your mom continues to improve. I broke my ankle this past Sunday, so I understand the need for rest and recovering. I have surgery next Wednesday, so I'll try to do what I can over the next week before then.

Something to help me jump into Ailya's skin - could each of you give me a quick (a line or three) synopsis of your attitude towards her, if any of you are closer than the others, or if she's kind of a loner? I want to keep her as close to what she's been, but I will make her my own eventually. I just dont want her to do a complete 180 from what she currently is.

Peace!
Aletheia

Thank You.......

Thanks folks for carrying on without me. I hope to be able to start posting again by next weekend.

Mom is now in a rehab facility and will most likely be in there for a month. I hope all of our stress will smooth out a bit now.

Last night I was able to escape for a bit as our 5.0 group played online through Roll20. It was good therapy for me.

Hope to catch up soon.

Wizard Sight

Wizard Sight
(Divination)
Range: 0
Components: V, S
Duration: 1 round/level
Casting Time: 3
Area of Effect: The caster
Saving Throw: None

Upon completion of this spell, the caster's eyes glow blue and he is able to see the magical auras of spellcasters and enchanted objects. Only the auras of those things normally visible to the caster are seen; this spell does not grant the wizard the ability to see invisible objects, nor does it give him X-ray vision. This spell does not reveal the presence of good or evil or reveal alignment.
While wizard sight is in effect, a wizard is able to see whether someone is a spellcaster and whether that person is a priest or a wizard (and what type of specialist, if any). He can sense if a nonspellcaster has the potential to learn and cast wizard spells (e.g., whether a fighter will someday gain the ability to cast a spell).
Although a spellcaster's level cannot be discerned, the wizard can see the intensity of a spellcaster's aura and guess at the individual's magical power (dim, faint, moderate, strong, overwhelming). This can be extremely ambiguous even when a wizard has some method of comparison; the DM might announce that a subject's intensity is roughly equivalent to that of a companion, or he might announce that a subject's aura is the strongest the wizard has ever encountered.
An object's magical abilities cannot be discerned. The fact that it is magical and the type of magic (abjuration, alteration, etc.) are obvious. The wizard can see the intensity of an item's magical aura and guess at its power, but cannot tell whether a magical item is cursed.

No post tonight

Ok I just gained access to the inn. Seems it was down all day, at least for me. I'll post tomorrow night.

Nimu thanks for the spell description but two questions where did you find it? and what exactly are you trying to learn from casting it.

Wizard Sight

The spell is in the Tome of Magic. Use it before in our last dungeon crawl. Siréne is trying to glean as much information as she can about the boxes and their contents. What sort of magic are we dealing with? What schools/types? How strong is it? Will she be able to discover something about the casters? The spell basically lets the wizard read or gain insights to magical auras. With detect magic being active, would she be able to get more information with this spell through study of these auras?
