To open a box, look for another route, or go raise goats for a living
Ok, guys. We really need everyone in the party to chime in on the plans.
The boxes are clearly nasty - and they really do seem likely to have something to do with the 10 sword-wraiths. But why would Allanon send us here (but not come himself?? Hmmm...) if this is where they were trapped? That doesn't make sense. The powerful magic is probably either the magic source we are looking for, although that is supposed to be down not here, or a spell trapping whatever is inside.
But right now Lothor only sees the following options:
1. Open the boxes.
2. Go back and search all of the other rooms.
3. Go back to the room that had various hallways coming out of it - the one we slept in - and pick another route.
Opening the boxes feels a bit like destiny. And this is the path the spell told us to go down. Leading us here. Still, Lothor is hesitant to open them until other routes are explored. So Lothor would probably go back and pick another hallway, perhaps checking a couple of random rooms on the way. I have a sneaky suspicion that all roads will lead to this room, but I have been wrong before.
What say the rest of you? Opening boxes of death seems like a good time for a vote. Or feel free to outline another option if you know of one. I guess Lothor could just leave the tower, go back to the mainland and become a farmer, but he isn't inclined to do that. Not enough excitement.

Open the boxes?
I am posting something Saturday afternoon (my time) with Rayne suggesting my opinion. I am all for opening the coffins. I think that doing so would be our best chance to progress. I guess that this mission isn't exactly time sensitive though, so our characters do have plenty of time to explore more. I just don't want them to be weakened if something comes out of those coffins.

Posting........
I may get something up tonight.
This is a very interesting event. If these are the Sword Wraiths we might be able to knock off a few. It might be that we disturb the spell that put them to sleep and accidentally awake and release them to return their master.
We have time to back track and check the other doors before returning to open these. Might really be a good idea..might turn out to be a bad idea.
Right now Keeper is the leader as Cor and Nimu is second as our most powerful magic user. Ulthok has been a trusty advisor, but with being away I'll follow their agreed lead.
I'd say we can leave it to fate and have Keeper roll a d20 and call his favorable first, high or low. (1-10 low, 11-20 high) He makes his roll we follow his lead, he fails his roll we follow Nimu's lead.
Use the roller in the tools and have it email us the results.
Just Saying......

Thoughts..........
Ok, I may get a post up today.
But here are some thoughts to ponder.
1. We would know that the Wraiths were put into a sleep, this summery of the battle would have included that as we tried to learn more of the sword.
2. We would know that one of the 10 was sent to limbo. We would learn that the ten were controlled by their amulets.
3. And we would know that each wraith had a powerful sword.
So in battle cutting the amulets off the necks of the 10 would reduce the control Karza had over them.
These boxes may be their phylactery and by destroying them it destroys the Wraith. But these are big and may be hard to destroy.
So once we open these it will be chaos. So battle goals MAY be, remove amulet, destroy box, destroy Wraith, retrieve swords. Oh yeah and save our own bottoms. Later goals will be destroy amulets and swords.
So for the moment letting sleeping dogs lay and check out the other passages could be a good idea.

Magic Aura
Tann, did Siréne get anything else from the spell? Could she tell what type of magic? Abjuration? Conjuration? Alteration? Illusion? Charm? Evocation? Necromancy?
Thanks!

Will post shortly
the other thing to keep in mind is that all of these boxes are in some way connected. They are all part of one base. does that just mean they are tied together for purposes of whatever spell is involved? Or does it mean they are connected underneath in some way? (A passageway or a magic?) I'm just saying that opening one might be the equivalent of opening all. There might be no such thing as one-at-a-time.

Let's do this, then!
Aliya stands straight and adjusts her armor and her grip on her sword. "If we're going to search the other rooms, then let's get started. Waiting too long may give whatever evil these walls hold an advantage over us. Where shall we start?"

Interesting.....
It took the party an hour to travel down the hall to the room with the boxes but only a few minutes to return and search a few rooms along the way.
Hmmm... time distortion.....hmmmm...maybe we are on the right track to get home.
So now which door do we choose?
Is the one on the right the right one?

They gave me the good drugs . . .
Yeah, that was supposed to be in-game. This is what happens when I'm flipping thru tabs and posting whilst on pain meds for my ankle lol.
Sorry about that!

Pick a door, any door.
Am I right that it is either left or right that we haven't gone through? Straight ahead would be the main entrance. Yeah, the time distortion is probably part of the magic source that will hopefully get us home. Also, the general magic around the boxes (The part that isn't dark) is probably that also.
As for a door? Sure, go right. If Cor is leading have him pick one, I don't think it matters much which one.

We could always split up.. though typically that's a poor choice. If ever faced with left or right, I always go left though. No real reason

Dice Roll..?
How about a d20 roll?
0-10 go left
11-20 go right
------------------------------------
Your roll results:
7 Your total roll is 7.
An email copy of these roll results has been sent to the address specified.
-------------------------------------
The email shows I didn't fudge the numbers.
So the dice says go through the left door.
