Time Out Of Time..........

Ok, the last time warp from page 165 in Drow mountain was: Go now, linger not, for time has quickly passed you by as a day within this mountain is as a month outside of it...
It takes us hours to walk down a hall but only minutes to walk back. Very Interesting........

expected

Well, since we came here to find a magic capable of sending us back to our own time, some time effects make sense.

Do we even care about time effects? Unless they span thousands of years? Unless it goes all the way back to our own time, it doesn't really matter what the time frame is on the outside, it won't be "our" time.

It does seem like there has to be more to this time frame than just getting back to our own time frame. Why were we sent to this time? To do what? Good or bad? Just getting back to our time doesn't really do much - we just go back to the really bleak future that tan so graciously presented to us of the Dark Lord, what's-his-name, ruling everything. But also, while such speculations are interesting, there doesn't really seem to be much of anything we can do about it. For now it is just about this tower and these rooms.

Investigate this room and the bones, obviously. But assuming we find nothing - including secret doors and traps, then what? Right now Lothor is all for avoiding the tomb like boxes. He'd poke around in the fountain with a stick after the investigation of this room turns up nothing.

Tann - 1. How are the cages hung? Is there a way to lower them?
2. Is there anything on the statues' shields that we can see?

Search..........

I say we do a close search of the this room. Study each statue all the way around, check walls and floor for doors or traps. I could have Ulthok climb the wall and check the cages from the beams. Peri can fly up and help too. There may be something on the statues or in the cages to help us in one of the other rooms.

I will be out of town Wed thru Friday but I'll try to keep up.

To clarify, Ulthok has boots of spider climbing so he could scale the wall.

Any Other.........

Any more thoughts? I'd hoped for some more ideas. If I don't see anything I'm going post as I said before and have Ulthok go up and check the cages.

Apologies

I got really, really busy over the weekend and was unable to post. I had planned to post tonight but again RL got in the way.

I promise to post sometime this week so never fear, may give you more time to discuss the present room. Trust me it could help lol

Voices in my head

Ok, guys - more information than just what was in Tann's original post.

Tann:
1. Do the voices change as I move away from the statues? If so, in what way?
2. Can I detect at all how many voices there might be?
3. Can I detect race, language, accent? Was speech in this "old time" any different than the time we came from? Is this the same as either?
4. I'm going to go back and edit my post - ask them a quick question. Do they respond at all?

To the group:
What do you think? might this be the reason there is no magic but it feels like magic? Spirits? Can a cleric detect anything or feel anything? The voices came as I approached the statues, but that doesn't actually meant that they are tied to the statues.

Cat's Out Of The Bag..........

Well I guess that lets us know we are hearing voices. I'll try to get post up tonight for Ulthok.

Maybe we'll need a protection from evil spell over us?

@Nomad

Is there anything on the statues' shields that we can see? no whatever there was has been worn away
1. Do the voices change as I move away from the statues? If so, in what way? No

2. Can I detect at all how many voices there might be? No

3. Can I detect race, language, accent? No

3a. Was speech in this "old time" any different than the time we came from? Is this the same as either?:
Slightly different but you can understand the voices without any problem

4. I'm going to go back and edit my post - ask them a quick question. Do they respond at all? No just the same about freeing them

Well, that was helpful

So, in other words, "you get no information...."
That helps. 🙄

LOL........

Tann gives lots of information...it is just usually worthless.
It is as always that we have to ask the right questions.
So keep asking.

Review the clues:
10 statues with no faces.
4 cages with bones of 15 creatures.
No specific magic detected.
Now voice in our heads of things wanting to be released.
The voices beg then threaten. Threats are not a good sign of good things to happen.

Also it seems to be only one way communication, them to us, so we can't find out how to release them or why they are in need of releasing and how they were placed there it be held.

Release?

I didn't say I was surprised by Tann's lack of information...

As for the post about freeing the voices - are we sure we want to do so. When things threaten me I am hesitant to set them free to follow through on those threats. This, of course, assumes we even know how. But at least one method was suggested.

LOL........

Clues in clues. Tann really does give us information, but most of the time I don't see it right away. Sometimes he generous with an extra hint and sometimes its just black and white.

Remember we are looking for a passage to lower levels. So far nothing has been obvious.

If these voices don't respond then we are learning nothing. I sort of like Keepers idea to the holy spot but Ulthok would be of little help other than a prayer to his goddess to ease their suffering. Maybe that would be our action, Cor creates the holy spot and we all pray for the the spirits to be released of their suffering.
