Historical accuracy? Don't get hung up on it. As I said in my opening thread, I am basing this on hollywood WWII more than history.
Do not equip your characters beyond personal items. You jumped out of a plane in a hurry so equipment will be scarce.
Give me a chance to post more details. I'm a single father all this week so mt time is limited.

Well as both weapons are calibrated in .45 ACP rounds maybe not too bad until I can pick up a German MP -40 of course  .

If we get stuck using german rounds then I hope I can find a Kar98k ZF42! As it fires the standard german 7.92 it should be easy enough to find ammo for it.. would suck to be a sniper with no rifle after all!
I'm curious to see what we can come across.. maybe we'll get real lucky and find a couple FG 42's lying around! Doubt the germans would be happy running into a squad of allies armed with them

I was ready to get into the WWII rulea and character creation last night but we had a thunderstorn that took out our phone line and my internet connection along with it. Awaiting a rep to come and fix it today.
