Okay, thought of a kinda cool, albeit kamikaze, plan to deal with this sneaky serpent.

What if I went full on John Wayne, made my rope (I have rope in my pack) into a lasso and threw it over the naga's head? Then we all grab on and pull the snakey down.

Or, is there a source of fire anywhere? What about Uthal's torch? Are nagas afraid of fire? I could use my control flames cantrip to create a fireball and try and scare the naga away. Or would that just piss it off? Can Thäoran see the naga from where he is? Even just a murky outline/silhouette?

So, which one? The rope or the flame? Or neither?

I'm pretty sure Control Flames will not give you enough flame to create a Fireball. Also keep in mind any area effect spells that are cast against the Naga will also hit me as I'm easily inside such areas.

Yah gotta be able to see.

Swashbuckler - well, that explains it.  I looked up rogues to be sure I knew what is up but forgot about the subclass - which is one I am not familiar with.  Ok, then.  Attack away.

Dragon Soul - the biggest issue is that each of you can only see about 5-10' right now.  Fenris is aware of where the creature is, but the rest of you are not.  You saw it before the lightning bolt caused the collapse, but since then all you ee is dust.  Technically you don't even kow if Fenris and the creature were burried under rock or not.  You certainly can't see well enough to lasso anything.  But whether it would work or not, John Wayne loves the idea.

For those who care, it is not clear at the moment how long it will take for the dust to clear.

Am going in!

@dragon-soul92 Uthal is presently using darkvision to see but, he has torches. First we need to make it through. I am going in.

Do elves have good hearing? And even if they have the same hearing as humans, surely Thäoran can hear the naga? Enough to roughly pinpoint where it is?

Spotlight the naga's shadow

Soledad has cast dancing lights to hopefully spotlight the naga's form in the dust. If the silhouette gets revealed I'd like to suggest everyone target the creature with missile weapons.

Lets go

It is time to get post in  . . . .it has been a week.

Elven hearing is the same as humans and others.  The naga isn't really making any particular noise beyond an extremely loud crackling lightning bolt. The rocks were loud falling and still making a little noise in settling.  But overall it is now fairly quiet.  But snakes don't make much noise moving.  So, no, shooting by sound wouldn't be much more than blind shooting.

Darkvision:  Darkvision will allow you to see in darkvision but does not allow you to see through obscured areas - so it will not help seeing through dust.

How long the dust will settle and clear at the moment is an unknown,

Dancing lights is a an intereting idea and may help.  Or it may not be enough.  You won't know until she casts it.  But you can plan for a hoped for outcome.

Yep, dragonsoul asked about fire. Was just clarifying that Uthal is not using a torch.

@DM, did we see the Naga? Do we know it is the cause of the collapse?

dust

Ok, so it was a typo . . .

Yes, you saw the naga and know it did the lightning bolt and caused the collapse.

Er, any ideas to clear this annoying dust faster? Can anyone control air/wind to blow it away? What about water? Could that 'wash' it out of the air (I know Uthal and I think Soledad can control water). Could that work?

Dig dig dig.

Unfortunately, the only water based elemental spells Uthal has is ice knife and frostbite. Looks like we are going to have to dig.

It is just a bit of dust. And some rocks falling on your heads. And a naga.

Lets get some posts going . . .

Is there any cover (large boulders, a corner or such) near Thäoran that he can see?

Also, quick question about weapon bond: can I throw the weapon I've bonded with and summon it back on the same turn? Or does it make me weaponless for a turn? I'm planning to throw my rapier (the weapon I've weapon bonded with) and hope the resulting clattering sound when it hits the ground distracts the naga. Then, if it does distract it, summon my rapier back straight after.

So could I say something like 'Thäoran throws his rapier into the dust, hoping to distract the naga. He can't see the naga, so he can't see if it's been distracted or not, but he waits a few moments and summons his rapier back.' And would all that be in the same turn, or would the naga's reaction to the rapier (if there is a reaction) count as its turn, then me summoning my rapier back count as my second turn?

I know, that was very confusing haha. Hope you got that lol.
