My brain always feels like a storm.......

So Zhay-la  needs to figure out how to do a full rack break into a three cussion bank shot around the eight ball.

Will we get a better reaction to full impact body blow or a high energy sustained push to drive the astroid a few degrees off current couse?

We need Engineering and flight ops to figure how many degrees is needed to miss the planet and send the astroid on it's merry way?

Or Science to figure how small of bits it need to be pulverized into to render it harmless? (1-20m)

Knocking it off couse has to figure the impact in just the right location to push the whole thing and not just start it spinning like one Eol's pinwheels.

Or can it be broken into chunks that can be more easily moved with shuttles and trackor beams.(1km ???)

The holodeck might be a good place to run simulations for time inhanced reaction and viewing.

These are ideas that Reid would suggest to Taissud as they review.

C2P we can collab if you want or you can run with some of these.

Any one else may like to run with any of these too or just use them to sead better ideas.

BTW..was it said if the astroid is round, oblong, cigar shaped.....that would help (at least me) in figuring what attackes on it may do.

Maybe we can speed up the Yarkovsky effect?

Speaking of ideas...

...Cheese and rice! That might be the MOST 'in command' Tochi's gotten in the last few runs Peregrine has been on... at least as far as 'on screen' goes!

Olan - If I overstepped anywhere or stepped on anything you might have had planned with that, let me know and I'll edit ASAP.

If not... soft-tosses all around, I guess?

Enjoy!

We kinda did!

Tochi is the XO, I want to see him get more comfortable with command.  Hell, remember that Drake promoted him when he thought he was about to lose his own comission (freedom? life?) so as to give him a shot at his own ship one day.

I don't know that any of those items are enough to overcome the Prime Directive, but Tochi did PRESICELY what Drake asked - brainstorm ideas to make this work.  If we intervene, it will have to be justified to Starfleet Command.  Technically, we should probably contact them first, but Drake is operating under the idea that asking for forgiveness is better than permission.  If Command says "no", it's no longer a gray area.

I may work that into a post.

Heh!

Insomnia and the entirety of Tochi's first 'command' being spent in spacedock aside, I guess he did okay.

Wonder if he'll leave the Fleet and head out to explore the galaxy on the Angel before he actually gets a true command of his own, though. I suppose we'll see.

Glad to know the post was okay, though.

Prime Directive

Well... Kennedy's working on some of the Prime Directive stuff... might have a bit  more up her sleeve where that is concerned if Drake doesn't read her riot act on what she just did

As for plans for the asteroid, I really am glad that you all are doing Kennedy's job here.    I got nothing, I'm a great CEO.

Nicely done on stretching the repair-time and feeding some plausible deniability, there, Meri!

And, hey! That's what us uber-nerds are for...  Always happy to help.

I think she might have studied Scott's handiwork when it comes to timing

Heh.  This will be fun to play out.

Sa'eridon had laid a clear repair timeline.  No mention of replicator problems was made.  Suddenly, there's a replicator problem that could take a day or two to resolve?

Yeah, there's no way that Drake won't see though this.  How he responds, however...

I want to give the other players a chance to post before I do.  But man, am I itching to jump in!

:)

Honestly she kind of hopes he sees through it and gets what she's up to... but she knows she's walking a thin line here.

I've been sitting on this for over a week now!  So don't get me talking about itching to get to it!

Ordnance

I'm assuming that Peregrine is only carrying the standard load-out of Mk XXV photon torpedoes and not any quantum torpedoes, correct?

Feature requests for the all-powerful Olan.

  • Ability for senior officers and site admins to edit Trek Tools logbook entries.
  • Forum thread specific search feature. The ability to search a game or QA thread for specific things would be extremely helpful.

Just tossing these out there.

Yes to standard torpedos.

I'll look at the Trek tools permissions.

The search is a feature I've tried before and am actually working on for a different project, but I'm having big issues with performance.
