Subject: Volcanicity: An interesting add campaign

So, a few days ago, surfing upon the youtube, I discovered a little add campaign for some sort of volcano-filtered water (?). Anyway, it's easily the funniest thing I've seen in months, and I had to share it. and mods, keep in mind if you're gonna nail me, I'm not advertising the product in the commercial. I'm just drawing attention to the "unique" approach the guys behind it took to advertising water, and I felt the undying urge to share it with a crew who would no doubt get a kick out of it.
so, without further adieu, behold:

Subject: not sure if anyone's suggested these, but...

on a lot of other forums, they have a quote button under every post. for those of you who don't know, what this does is creates a response to the thread in question with the post you wish to "quote" in a neat little box at the top. It's useful if you want to reply to a specific thing someone said, maybe four or five posts back. So implementing that would get a definite thumbs up from me.
Also, when choosing/editing your avatar, is there a way yet to preview the pic before you choose it? I'm all for taking the guesswork out of avataring. Just some suggestions...

Subject: a clue, you say?

I though I already had given you crazy fools a clue, Aryn. and if I just spewed my previous username, that wouldn't be so much a clue as giving away the answer. I dunno. ask around. it shouldn't be a problem for the members that have been here a while. but thanks for the welcome, everyone.

Topic: yet another movie thread...
Subject: Cloverfield

Yeah, I saw a bunch this week. specifically Cloverfeild, Fight Club, Full Metal Jacket, and The Wicker Man (funniest movie of 2006).
But yeah. on the subject of recent movies, I thought Cloverfield was pretty enjoyable. One of my biggest problems with J.J. Abrams is his disposition towards a shaky camera. I believe I likened watching MI:3 to watching a regular movie, only someone is trying to push you down the stairs. But he actually had an excuse in Cloverfield. And that's good. Because now (hopefully) its all out of his system for Star Trek.

Topic: Chat?
Subject: it used to be a-bustlin'

Well I can tell you what I use to do to get chat to work, back before the site up and died the first(?) time. I woke up, logged into chat, and stayed there all day. then people perusing the site would be all like "oh, someone's on chat". and come in. then more people would be like, "chat looks like it's filling up." and come in. Sooner or later it would be bustling. usually by noon. that's the only surefire way I found to get chat to actually be used, though.

Back from being VERY away, to be precise. Under a different name, too. Haven't been here in a few years, and it's fracking awesome to see almost all of the classic regulars again. Lots of new faces, too.
And yes, if none of you recognize me, I am indeed using a different name than I was a few years ago. If you figure you can figure who I am, good for you. Nice to see you, too. If not? Well, I dunno.
Anywho, just popping in to say that I am indeed back. I'll make a point of being a more active poster than I was before.
So I'll see yall out there, then!
