Topic: Orb of Cleft: Newbies welcome! Subject: RULEY DESCRIPTIVE BIT
The backstory is... well, the three PCs wake up, remembering only their names and motor functions, having been left with a shortsword, three torches and a firelighting kit. Essentially Level 0.
But with a piece of parchment reading "Find the Orb of Cleft."
They will have a classic archetype which gives a few bonuses, and can combine a few, I guess, from the following list, in a 3.0e manner (pick a class level every levelup)
Any suggestions as to extra classes are welcome.
EDIT: see list in the Q&A thread.
Now, the first three players become PCs. The rest get set into a pool.
This pool of players will be used:
-When a PC dies. Their player will join the pool and another player will take their place, with any character of the same level, but not necessarily same class.
-When we have a big enemy arrive. This enemy will be played not by me but by someone from the pool.
How's that sound?
The spirit of the whole thing will be, well, light and Munchkiny: out-of-character chat between characters is encouraged.
Bonus Karma points will be available for hilarity and awesome stuff.
KARMA:
Points are earned for, as said, hilarity, awesome and victory. Oh, and dying in cool ways too ^^
Examples:
- A bandit talking happens to be backstabbed by his own son. Bob the Invoker says "Tu quoque, fili mi?". ZING!
- John the Warrior runs the last goblin in the group through with a sword. Gains xp, and ZING!
- The god-like evil invoker makes the warrior's head instantly explode. Tim the Enchanter says, "OMG HAX!". ZING!

Behind the two men, a group of people dressed in white robes arrived and took Varis and An'Inglefar away, towards a nearby building that as clearly a clinic of some form.
The Councillor for Defence grinned as Karrain listed his titles and achievements, respectful of the experience of the mage stood before him.
"I like you, Archmage Unzual. You are correct in noticing that the captain of the city centre is... distracted. He has never been particularly good at strategy and planning ahead. His position as guard captain isn't secure, if you know what I mean," he added with a wink.
"So what brings you to Tithuana?"

To describe it a little better, it's just a little something to be doing in-between inportant, big, descriptive "real" game posts.

Topic: Orb of Cleft: Newbies welcome! Subject: A little bit of light rollplay fun
Yeah, I got sorta bored and was looking through some papers in my room from a long, long time ago... and found a plan for a dungeon crawl!
This is to be a very light thing for fun, no urgency, a sorta mini-RP to enjoy in-between real RPing. Anyone can join in, but max of four adventurers (the rest will be monsters and stuff)
I guess it would go into freeform, as the only rules would be posting order.
Anyone interested? ^^

Bon nodded, "I think Thomas can wait, he won't recover in prison but I doubt the guards will let him get worse."
But before he could continue, a tall, broad man, wearing deep black armour, with a huge sword strapped to his back, strode up from the councillor stand.
"And who, might I ask, are you, to shout at my guards?!" he demanded loudly.

In most cases it's as simple as posting in a thread asking what you may or may not need. Some game masters look for highly knowledgeable players, others for anyone.
See you around soon.

I'm giving Footprints another major overhaul, namely replacing HP with status adjectives. (For Thomas, Not far from death, heavily burnt.)
Just for your info xD

Topic: Footprints: Part One, Chapter Five Subject: Incomprehension
"... so what on Anchor is going on??" An'Jantar asked, then shouting, "We need a physician!"
It didn't take long, even in the mass of terrified people, for a set of the city medics to arrive, check the situation of both An'Inglefar and Varis, before taking them off to what they described as "The Scarlet Clinic".
Bon arrived on the stage. As An'Jantar opened his mouth to speak, he murmured to Karrain.
"I can't find the others, so looks like I'm telling you: I tracked the mage's magic signature to a tower in the west."
An'Jantar sighed and sat down on one of the duel chairs, before speaking, "It is NOT this simple. There is something far deeper than this, I can tell. Why would Khan try to kill An'Inglefar? Why would the warrior kill him?"

I was considering having my medical geezer be an amateur pilot or something but I thought that would take away from the "true" pilot.

Topic: Footprints: Part One, Chapter Five Subject: Uh oh.
The captain frowned. As An'Jantar was about to open his mouth, the aformentioned guard took a couple of confident strides forward.
"I do my job, and my job is to protect our citizens from madmen. It is through luck that the Councillor of Magic is still alive, and I will NOT stand by idly and take this mockery. Were it not for the situation, I would challenge you now to a duel. I do not tell you how to get in the way, and I ask that you do not tell me how to protect Tithuanans."
An'Jantar appeared concerned.
The captain spat at Karrain's feet, before whirling around and shouting out orders to various city guardians, who began setting up perimetres and keeping order around the area.

Topic: Footprints: Digging Too Deep Recruitment CLOSED Subject: Yep
To simplify it for you, only humans.
However, culturally, they're quite different depending on origins (naturally). This only affects the backstory and upbringing really.
The possibilities I'm gonna allow:
Tithuanan: Culture is based around knowledge and logic, wisdom. Quite a big merchant presence.
New Ethronan: Have broken from belligerant Ethronan past, are now similar to Tithuanans.
Deckie: (only descendants possible, not "true" Deckies) honour and glory.
True Ethronan: Want to restore old Ethronan glory. War! At major war with New Smythia.
New Smythian: Basically same as True Ethronans.
Smythian: Arty. Very arty.

Topic: Footprints Discussion Subject: Well...
... he got back "on his feet" so easily because he's an awesome mage.
And his backup teleportation plan? He's an awesome mage, and prepares for almost any eventuality. He isn't exactly stupid, I guess.
Nah, he's in a bad state, but he's perfectly capable of teleporting away with a magical item.
EDIT: Don't forget that I update the Info thread with what's new in the story, new "quests"... and undiscreet hints.

Topic: Footprints: Part One, Chapter Five Subject: From the Brink of Death
An'Inglefar suddenly stopped coughing. Stable.
Meanwhile, guards by the dozens leapt upon Thomas and dragged him to the fore, their captain giving some incomprehensible shout before he was hauled off towards the nearest guardhouse.
An'Jantar rushed forward, "By Verona, this is bad!", kneeling before An'Inglefar.
------------
Khan blinked, and open his eyes gradually, "Thanks for the rescue... I will be fine."
A smile, brief, and he continued, "Meet me at my tower in the west of town as soon as you can. Come with only those you trust."
From a pocket in his robes appeared a small, wooden stick, which he snapped, before disappearing instantly in a flash of acid-green smoke.
