Topic: The Killing Instincts: Of Man and Magic
Subject: Stopped

Faroak ran as fast as he could in his cat form following Bran he wasn't far behind when he saw Kari-Bliss and Bran go through the door. He quickened his pace but he was to late and the door already shut. He tried to listen to the conversation inside with his heightened hearing. So far he had heard nothing.

Subject: Should I?

Faorak felt bad about what he said and wanted to make it right. He was just so conflicted. He watched bran as he trasformed and started to follow him. he knew he wouldn't be able to catch up to him so transformed into a cat and ran after Bran, being careful Bran didn't see him. He traced brans movements behind buildings, over rooftops, thorough buhes and more.

Subject: Irritated

Faroak winced when he heard "idiot". He was already getting irritated by her pesomistic attitude. For now he would try to contain it but it would come out eventually.

He could understand her eluctance to fight but the attitude wouldn't help them one bit so for now he just said:

"Then don't come."

He didn't want to say it but he didn't want her to do something she would hate. He figured since she was discouraging herself it was hopeless for him to try anymore. He was already sick of it.

Subject: "Well..."

Faroak turns around to Kari-Bliss and keeps walking backwards.

"Well, maybe you won't have to use your magic or powers. Hopefully this mission isn't that dangerous."

Faroak turns back around and walks forward again.

He knew he shouldn't give her false hope but he didn't know what to else to say. He knew how wrong he was.

It spits out a leprachaun on a tree stump that gives you a pot of gold that disappears after an hour along with the leprachaun and tree stump.

I feed it a DnD 3.5 Players Handbook.

"Oh does she? I hadn't noticed."

Faroak looked at Kari-Bliss and frowned.

"I'm not doing so good this morning either. I fell out of a tree and bruised up half of my chest and then your irritating shrieks made me hit my head on the wall. All you did was get up early. If you had it my way you'd be on the ground knocked out or crying."

Faroak walked to the schools door and on his way in he muttered loudly, "Cain woke me up... ahoohoohoo..."

Faroak startled at her yelling at him and hit his head on the wall.

"DAMN IT! What is it this morning. I keep getting hit and bruised every where I go..."

Faroak rubbed the back of his head and glanced at Kari-Bliss who seemed to be half-asleep.

He smiled and said, "Did Cain wake you up? I can tell by how sleepy you are that you wouldn't have gotten up this early yourself."

Subject: ....:FAST-FORWARD:....

The next morning Faroak woke up laying on is back. He began to sit up and realized to late that he was laying on a thin branch. The second his weight shifted the branch snapped. He tumbled to the ground and landed on his stomach(like cats always do). He couldn't breathe for a moment but he quickly regained his breath and sat up.

"Damn," He lifted his shirt and looked at his chest. It was bruised in certain places where he had landed on rocks and sticks.

"Not the best time to get injured," he stodd up and wound his arm in a windmill type motion,"Right before we're getting sent out on a mission."

Faroak limped over towards the school and leaned against the wall outside the main door. He looked up at the sky and caught his breath. He just stood there waiting for Kari-Bliss and Bran to show up.

Subject: Back-Track Time!

Faroak trudged over to the tree in one of the corners of the village. You always liked sleeping in trees. He even turned down the cabin the school offered him. He climbed the tree with cat-like grace. He was beginning to take on the traits of the animals he turned into. He lied there, conflicted. He couldn't take his mind off of Kari-Bliss and Cain's argument and his arguments with his parents. He began to slowly cry himself to sleep.

Faroak turned and saw the door shut. He heard something about "tomorrow" but didn't notice completely what it was. He really didn't care. He was to sad and angry with himself to even acknowlege it. He hated himself. He hated that he left his parents at his home. He couldn't stand to see that happen to someone else. Faroak sat up and walks out the door, slamming it on his way out.

I especially like your poems because I can relate to them in my own sort of way.

I suffer from minor depression that comes on me once in a while and your poems describe how that sometimes feels.

Thank you and good work.

When the door opened Sev jumped to see someone was inside.

"How the hell? Never mind. The ship crashlanded and the captain is dead. Everyone has to survive for themselves we're trying to find supplies to survive out in the harsh climate. We need you to help us. What are you trained in?"

Sev went to the cabinet with Lyonna. He looked at the lock on it and thought of how primitive it was. He wedged his knife between the double doors of the cabinet and pulled to the side as far as he could and put his foot on the left side of the door.

"Ok, I need you to kick the door now."

Faroak turned his head and looked down at the floor. He remembered the arguments he had with his parents before he ran away. Kari-bliss and Cain reminded him of badly it hurt.

He stared down at the floor, becoming oblivious to his surroundings, stuck in his memories.

Faroak didn't like the way Cain just put his sister down like that. He should have encouraged her. That was uncalled for.

"Well, that wasn't nice. But hey, brothers and sisters do that you know. If I were you, I wouldn't listen to him. In the end, I think he'll approve of you no matter what like he should."

Subject: Faroak Mossbone

Faroak Mossbone was laying on the floor staring at the ceiling just half-listening to the teachers lesson. He was thinking about how after school he would explore the town as a dog after class and look around. He had just recently arrived in the town and it was still kind of new to him. He was enjoying his little day dream when he heard that mans name.

Charles Dellacoure? He had only heard about him in stories where he used to live, his overprotective parents shutting him out on the dangers of the world. He pricked up immediately and listened intentively to what she was saying.

'Tomorrow? Us?' he thought. He couldn't beleive it. He was both thrilled and frightened. It sent a chill up his spine and rush of adrenaline through his head.

'Maybe I wouldn't be so shut off from the rest of the world he thought. Living 8 years at home, secluded in his room. 7 years with the animals in the forest. I've seen so little. Maybe this is a good thing.'
