"Well," The Asian rolls the sucker against her teeth with a click. "Let's see what I can find." She stares into the lenses of her sunglasses seeing the visual display of her optic splice while everyone else in the room focuses on their food or the video still on the wall.
School records have Dr. Carey's current address. That isn't a problem. Directing her avatar to seek online for additional information, the wardriver plugs in parameters that filter the search to public records of property ownership and rental agreements. No other residences, "He's got one address and that's where the school has him listed, so I'd say that's the best lead we got. Twenty-Four Fifty, West Park, that's a mallplex, about, here."
The video on the wall changes from Dr. Carey's sallow face to a public map of the city. West Park Mallplex is about fifteen minutes from the school, but down a few levels placing it in a less affluent neighborhood.
"So, I don't think that's Kansas, Toto," Blossom remarks while settling back in her chair and picking up a piece of processed pork to shove in her mouth at the same time as removing the diminishing lollipop. "I saw that place on a Vlog just a bit ago, I think. Some junked out hyperpsycho plowed himself and his input into the outside wall going, like, one-ten on a crotch-rocket. Took three ragdolls with ‘em who were camped off the street in a shopping cart motel. Brutal and messy.
"Good news is," glowing green lines appear on the map crisscrossing intersections and running off the screen. "That the Pub-Trans runs within walking distance. We could be there within," Blossom checks the time displayed on her private optic view, "...two hours. Give'r take."
Fixer looks on, something nagging at his brain. Then it clicks. "I remember that place, I used to deal down there."
Eyes swivel in his direction. "In tech, you bozo's, there was a guy, who used to, maybe even still does, get hard to find parts, manuals, most of what I couldn't find myself. And yes there was the usual riff-raff in that area, needlers, dealers, users, boozers and bums, not exactly Club Med, but I didn't detect any high tech security systems or even spot any security at all, it was more of an out of the way derelicts delight, not to say it hasn't changed in the last year or so, but that's a first hand account of what I dealt with, what Doc is doing in that area is anybody's guess." Fixer popped his last O-ring into his mouth, and waited for the consensus of the others.

"So anyone got any idea's where to look next?"
Blossom returning to her attention to her agent began playing back the first of the earmarked timestamps. Over the course of a few minutes revealed a video of a man of average build with thinning blond hair and sallow cheeks standing a few feet away from Jase. The man was clearly talking with the boy for a good couple of minutes before they parted company. With no audio and from the angle making it impossible to even attempt to read lips Blossom moved on to the next vid. This snippet of video showed the boy without any obvious concern hanging out with some other children his age before entering the dorm room.
"That's odd," Blossom states. "There's no other facial recognition tags. Our boy, Jase, just vanishes unless his face isn't seen by the cameras after that. While the other video played, I ran some cross-checks on the staff at the school. That shaikujin, Jase was talking to in the first one is staff at the school."
She hurriedly taps a couple of commands on her keyboard and then swipes away from the device towards the wall screen. A picture of the man appears overlaying the video.
"Doctor Phil Carey," she announces. "He teaches Corporate Law, and, he's been out sick since just after that video."
"So I guess he is our next trail we follow?" Casino asked.
Working his way through whatever this burger consisted of Fixer watched the timestamps flash on the screen.
This is starting to go downhill in a bad way, between that damn ladder racking up injuries, he thinks he got off lucky just biting his tongue, and feels glad he isn't eating spaghetti, and relationships going sideways, and all the other wonderful news that has been thusly revealed.
"Doctor Phil Carey?" he thinks working on an onion ring "Corporate Law?" This has to be some complex situation coming up, and the big bosses want us to tone it down? Good luck with that!
"So where has he taken a leave of absence from exactly? And where does he live? Not that I expect him to be home with the sniffles at this point."

Seeing Fixer with his MPK-11/Gren launcher combo and bag over his shoulder Casino was about to ask for them back, when Fixer beat him to the punch.
"Here's your s***. About time you take it all back." Dropping the bag to the ground lightly, the techie placed the MPK on top and pushed over to the big solo.
"Thanks I owe you"
"Yeah you do" Fixer replied cynically as he moved into the office.
Looking for some space in this hole was like looking for water in a sieve, it just wasn't happening so he took a standing room only spot next to Ghlahn.
Glancing at the menu he said " I'll take double meat and cheese burger with whatever you can cram between the bun, onion rings and a chocolate shake."
Looking down at Ghlahn he said "Might as well wait for the solo brothers to finish their little spat before we get into it,unless you want to hear it all twice."

After slipping on a rung, which caused his chin to slam into another one hard enough to make his teeth clack and see a few stars, Fixer grabbed the ladder firmly, then hearing a commotion below him, sees two people tangled up below him, so moving carefully he leaps away from the bodies and landing on his feet which, naturally, slide out from under him, he bounds back up and moves to help the two who are getting to their feet.

As the group slowly makes their way back out of the building, the Frank Sinatra look-alike calls out to Fixer as quietly as possible: "Have those grenades ready that Casino gave you. Authorities are probably on their way to investigate the disturbance here."
Fixer, usually unencumbered, except for his "Gadget Bag" is now wearing a bag with Casino's weapons and all the other stuff Casino has burdened him with.
He stops and unslings the bag with Casinos stuff in it rummaging around in the semi-darkness until he feels the grenades. pulling four from the bag, he stumbles after Vegas catching up as the group slows.
Holding out the grenades Fixer whispers to Vegas "I got four to start the show."

Subject: The Wait
Although not much time has actually passed, it feels like forever he has handed the card over and yet Fixer knew what was on everyone's mind. They were coiled as tight as springs.
What would they find behind the door? Bullets? A flash-bang that would blind them all so the bullets could rip into them? Or something equally as devastating? Best not to dwell on that.
And on top of all that, where the hell was Casino? Holding his stuff wasn't exactly holding Fixer down, but it would be nice if he could unload back to it's rightful owner.
So he waited.

As everyone stepped aside to let him through, Fixer unslung a small backpack he had been carrying and started rummaging through it, humming softly to himself.
He extracted a small cellphone like device with a card reader attached to some wires.
Pushing a button marked READ, he patiently waited for the device to do its thing, as murmurs of "come on" and "hurry up" came from the others.
A few seconds later, a message lit up the screen INSERT BLANK. Pulling a blank card from a pocket in the rear of the device Fixer put it in the appropriate slot and pushed the CREATE button on the device.
It took about 90 seconds and then the DONE button lit up.
Fixer removed the card and handed it to Blossom. "This will get you in." then faded back into the shadows.

As he gets the door unlocked it almost seems like slow motion as Blossom opens the door only to be stopped by Echo from entering the large reception area before a harmless-looking chair transformed into a hooded cobra molten monstrosity of death and destruction! As Fixer leaps back he hears Blossom hiss: "It's a construct! Don't let it touch you."
Doing the only thing he knows he jumps back from the door and pulls out the mini-uzi and points it at the creature. As Echo and Vegas move in front of him they pour bullet after bullet at this metal creature. Not having a clear shot the Tech runner can only provide back-up as needed if needed. However he need not have been afraid as the three others easily took care if it. Standing he moved his gun back and followed the others.
