Altaira - No rush, take your time would rather you have the head space and time to provide/ run this how you want it to go.

Nomad -  Nice, i get the image of a merperson/ siren.

I have put forward 'Rattle of Chains' a Tabaxi Bard of the Grave Song (Homebrew college pulled of internet), acts as sort of a wondering groundskeeper for cemetaries/ backwater last rites provider. So is also geared towards travel, survival and support.

For what I understand your after a basic free form fantasy character (loosly) using D&D as an anologe.

Do I need to submit the idea/ character to yourself and will a Google doc be ok?

Stardate 2365.05.16 – Impact minus 50:06

USS Peregrine, Science Deck - 1530

As he made his way around the science deck, he could feel the muscles in his arms and legs start to relax the familiar action of doing something helping to release his tension, though it was not enough to relax his aching shoulders or throbbing temples. He considered the science away mission, his main concern being for its discovery by the people of the planet below, and how quickly they could react to any new data presented by it. Running over the particulars in his mind again, he nodded to himself as he decided on a course of action. Tapping his comm he contacted the bridge.

“CSO to bridge, Ensign Owen”

=/=Owen, here,=/= came the lilting reply, =/=Wha’ c’n I do fer ye, Lieutenant?=/=

“I have a request for you if I may be so bold. I would like to have all the science team members with me in the labs so we can react to and analyse all the data being transmitted back to the Peregrine by the away team. The bridge is not normally staffed during a weekend beta shift but given the current situation I feel its right to ask your permission, and I understand if this is not a suitable scenario, and my team will be along shortly to staff the bridge, please understand there may be a delay due to time needed to organise and switch over. Thank you.

=/=I dinna think there’ll be a problem wit’ tha’, Lt Ch’ronnos,=/= Ensign Owen returned, =/=Feel free ta put yer folk where ye feel they’d do the most good, aye? Coordinate wit’ OPS ta make sure ye’ve got th’ bandwidth ye need an’ make it so.

“Thank you, Ensign.”

As he continued his walk around the science deck, his mind went to the away team and the equipment needed.

“Science to Engineering”

=/= Milvov here, go ahead. =/= The brusk business-like voice of the Vulcan engineer came through promptly in response to his query.

“There is a science away team due to launch soon, which bay and shuttle designation will be used, so we can get our equipment moved to the correct bay?”

There was a small pause. =/= I have not heard anything about a science mission. I know two of the shuttles are being repaired at the moment. =/= A small puff of agitated air blew across the speaker of his Comm Badge. =/= I apologise. I was not fully briefed before taking my post for the evening. I am not sure we have a shuttle large enough to accommodate a full science mission that is not under repair at the moment. I will check in with Flight Operations, though, and see what they have in mind. In the meantime, please send me a list of items that you need, and we can make sure to have the proper containers sent down to you for safe transportation of the items. =/=

Esel paused mid stride, confusion briefly fliting across his brow.

“Thank you, Ensign, apologies for dropping that on you. Ensign Eilal will pass the list across once he has confirmed requirement, I just wanted to help grease the wheels.”

As he continued to walk through the corridors of the Science Deck, worried thoughts pulled at the edges of this mind. Does the Captain know the shuttles are all in repair? Did he purposefully ok the mission knowing it couldn’t go? Or does he actually not know about the shuttles or even the mission?

His thoughts were leading him down a dark path and he didn’t like where it was going.

How much information was Cmdr Kennedy keeping close to her chest with the state of Engineering? Replicators and Turbolift malfunctions and now none of the shuttles are operative. Was this a move to discredit the Cmdr by arranging the mission to fail thus bringing to light, the failing within Engineering by Ensign Owen? Or maybe make the Captain look incapable? Was there a deeper plan afoot, something bubbling just below the surface waiting?

He stopped and rubbed his temples Not enough pieces on the board, and to much information missing. He started to feel lightheaded and woosy and he realised he had not eaten since his breakfast with Anders. Changing his course to take him to the mess he pondered the predicament and whether there was a need to step in and stop the mission for the safety of his team?

“Computer locate Commander Kennedy”

=/= Commander Kennedy is currently located in shuttle bay 2 =/= Upon hearing this news he nodded to himself agreeably Obviously she is working with her team to work out which shuttle will be best utilised for the upcoming mission, no need to worry.

Making his way into the mess hall he grabbed himself something to eat, and made his way to a quiet corner to collect his thoughts making sure to give himself a suitable lambasting with regards to his previous thoughts regarding the crew, blaming it on his poor personal discipline for allowing himself to go hungry.

Stardate 2365.05.16 - Impact minus 50:24

USS Peregrine, Deck Four, Science Lab 1 - 15:12

A frustrated sigh escaped his lips as he sat heavily back into his chair and rubbed his eyes with the palms of his hands. His eyes where sore and his head throbbed from the near constant staring at his screen, unfortunately instead of an answers to the problem lining up neatly of the screen it had all just become a jumbled mess of numbers and symbols.

His mind flashed back to his recent brief with the Captain and the brief that must have added more weight to the already burdened Captain. The fear and shame of failure sent a hot flush across his chest and up onto his face, which contorted in pain and anger.

He pushed himself up from his chair and started to pace the room, he could feel it, the pent up frustration bleeding into anger, every fiber of his body was screaming to lash out, to release the tension within them. Had anyone observed this pacing they would have seen a dangerous predator trapped in a cage instead of a Star Fleet trained Officer.

He looked across to the wall screen where he had a picture of his parents displayed both dressed in their military uniforms, both heavy with earned decorations after long successful careers and here he was his first ship, his first team, his first problem and his first failure. A bitter bile raised into his throat and it was all he could do not to wretch right there on the floor adding humiliation onto his shame.

=/= Eilal to Lieutenant Ch'ronnoss =/=

The sudden interruption made him start and it was all he could do not to tear into the unfortunate Ensign.

"Ch'ronnoss here" he voiced through tight lips, whilst secretly hoping that Eilal had discovered some magical cure all.

=/= Sir, we have an interesting development.  I was musing over the electromagnetic field of 2365 C41A3 DN17, wishing to take samples of the asteroid so as to ascertain why it is so anomalous.  Ensign Owen has obtained Captain Drake's permission for us to take a shuttlecraft to the surface of the asteroid for the purpose of obtaining said samples; she has ordered the Peregine en route to the asteroid now.  While I would be eager to complete this duty, I understand that you may prefer to complete this task yourself, so I naturally bow to your seniority here.  Either way, however, I felt it seemly to update you as to this developing situation. =/=

Esel lips formed a tight smile, as he listened to the ASO report and the easy formality it contained.

"Ensign, this is your train of enquiry it would be remiss of me to steal it from under you, though I do ask that you patch through your findings to myself in case there is something we can use to significantly improve our situation. Also if possible take Mister West with you this seems right up his preverbal alley, Misters Gaultier and Sharp are also available to assist you directly and I shall have Mister Crane come and man the bridge. If you require anymore from me please ask."

As he ended his transmission he felt a slight relaxation settle over him, it felt good to have something pushing forward. Soreness started creeping up his back and shoulders, Im to tense, time for a stiff walk he mused putting one hand up and rubbing the base of his neck, as he strode out of the office and into the corridor, aiming for maximum laps before Eilal's next report.

USS Peregrine; Deck 4, Science Lab 1 – 14:00

“Computer, again”

Again, the small, coloured spheres on his screen went dancing about in their merry fashion, until again the sphere not set to a nominal aligned path crashed into a larger sphere as it slowly made its way around its pre aligned track.

=/= Impact. Resultant debris field will impact Calican 2 within 25 years. Effect on atmosphere major, impact to life extinction level. =/=

“Argh” he cried out in frustration, “Computer set power to 95% and set rogue object outwards angle up plane by 10 degrees.”

=/= Parameters set =/=

“Again”

The small spheres once again went around their pre-set paths with the rogue asteroid travelling between them. He saw it before the computer registered the impact, his hands came up to cup his face and he screamed wordlessly into them.

=/= Impact. Resultant debris field will impact Starfleet mining operations within 20 years. =/=

Why was this asteroid so intent on killing something?

Esel sighed heavily “Computer Captains location please”

=/= The Captain is currently in his ready room =/=

Best I deliver this news in person He thought to himself as he picked a PADD up from the desk next to him, taking a moment to compose and adjust his uniform, he started making his way to the bridge with a face of grim determination.

USS Peregrine; Bridge 14:15

The doors to the turbolift opened and Esel stepped out onto the bridge, giving a quick nod, he made his way to the Captains ready room, as he approached, he noted the engaged lights on the door panel.

I guess it will have to wait a while longer he thought, though the knowledge of having to deliver these tidings to the Captain weighed on his shoulders. He made his way across the bridge to the Science Conn where Ensign Eilal was currently stationed, in the hope that with some discussion the two of them may improve the data to be presented, before the Captain became available.

Presently the sound of the ready room door opening caught his attention and his eye flicked up to be greeted by the XO storming out past them, across the bridge and into the turbolift, whilst removing his jacket the look on his face enough to deter any sort of intervention.

He cast his gaze around the stunned bridge and back to Eilal.

“Guess its my turn.” He murmured.

Stardate 2365.05.16 - Impact minus 51:04

USS Peregrine; Bridge, Captains Ready Room – 14:30

Esel chimed the button on the door panel and waited of acknowledgement.

OOC: Assumed positive and the XOs pips have been moved.

“Captain” he started as he came to attention in front of the Captains desk “I have some dire news with regards to our current situation. Whilst we can safely redirect the asteroid without having to use explosive force upon it, we can’t do so undetected. With the Peregrine having to orbit the object to change its course we have calculated that no matter at which point we release to remain undetected, the object is still going to collide with other objects with the system and have a large effect.”

Quickly he passed the list of failed experimental data across to the Captains PADD.

“The only successful courses require the Peregrine to escort the object out to the edge of the system, but the object would come close enough to the planet that if not naked to the visible eye, we would definitely be detected by anything they have pointing towards the object as it passed.”

He then transferred the few successfully course plots across to the Captain.

“Depending on other solutions in the hat, we are definitely down to mitigation of post incident fallout during the subsequent inquiry.” He finished falling silent, waiting for the Captains response.

Quick one - Looking at the Duty List - the XO should be on the bridge Sunday Apha shift (til 1500) but of course he has been down to the shuttle bay and meeting with the Captain (and the ship is in a heightened state or readiness) so was just wondering who would be/ is in the Chair currently?

Stardate 2365.05.16 (Sunday) - Impact minus 55:41

USS Peregrine, Deck 3, Mess Hall - 09:52

Esel calmly turned towards the man in front of him, reminding himself that they were in the mess hall and that a less formal tone of conversation was not only excepted but expected. He took a deep breath as he collected his thought, he needed to calmly and rationally work his way through his next few sentences with as much decorum as possible.

"The moment the Captain made the decision to involve us into the plight of Calican II we plunged headfirst off the lofty cliff of 'No Interference' there is no getting away from that, no matter the justification. Should we be successful in this venture and manage to prevent the natural extinction of the populace of Calican II you are quite correct in that their species will evolve differently on many, many levels, there is no way to avoid that in this situation, because the fact is it shouldn't survive or evolve, as the comet should make their species extinct."

He paused and took a breath, he could feel his skin starting to prickle, as his emotional state started to unbalance.

"There is no magic science wand that can be waved to make things right, to justify the why, and to prevent objects being acted on by an outside force, only personnal belief and justification in doing the right thing."

He paused Here we go

"As for the Captain, we shall have to see. I don't know about you, but this is all to neat for me. This ship and crew undergo a horrific ordeal, but just happened to be refitted and staffed and the first mission they are sent on just happens to be in a system with a life ending comet roaring through it. I mean if the Calicans know it's coming then Star Fleet must have known about this long before that, with the mining operations going on in this system and all the shipping, that comet must have affected it all in some form as it entered. This is a test of the Captain, I imagine there is a group of Officials sat near buy watching this play out to see if he/ we are capable of maintaining the PD or are we going to break it once and possible be prone to dive into every situation we find breaking the PD to keep the Demons at bay. Honestly, I feel this ship and crew will not get past any post incident inquest, they are waiting to pin something down."

His hands where trembling now in his lap, Steady Esel Steady

"The cost you need to weigh up, is whether saving an entire species for good or for ill, knowing that as a species they will never know what you did or how you were involved, worth your life and career within Star Fleet?"

He stood up abruptly, and started to pace, trying to control his rising emotions.

"I mean I hope I am wrong, but a lifetime of Military service can Jade a person when it comes to the unseen manichaions of those who weild the power above, and of course saving life is a most noble goal for any Sentiant race, its a long hard journey to the stars, why should we then spend that time fighting instead of exploring and learning, thats why I transfered to Star Fleet but to see that sundered and cast aside just because some high rank suit at the blunt end, wants to dilly over some black and white text and make examples of those who serve at the multi faceted, non liner end, who are just trying to to keep things 'right' for everyone."

Spinning around Esel suddenly slams his open palms onto the table top in frustration.

"But .....I also understand the need for rules, guidlines, protacols and those to enforce such within the system to prevent rogue strands from upsetting that balance, life is frail and delicate you just cant go messing and interfering as you see fit. All actions need to be delibrate, considered and transparant."

He returned to his seat opposite the COO, and let out a slow breath, reaching across the table for a napkin he slowly wiped up the spilled drinks.

"Apologies for upsetting your breakfast Lieutenant, I get agitated when those who where not there, inform you of what you should have done while you where there living it."

USS Peregrine, Deck 3, Mess Hall - 09:48

"Bueno, this will likely present very well, only... we don't yet have an inkling in how to align this effort with the Prime Directive. Gaining assistance from additional Starfleet assets may be out of the ques-tion. Have you checked with Engineering to confirm the viability of this? Perhaps even rerouting power to increase the output of the deflector to compensate for a lack of additional ships?"

"You are quite correct on all accounts, for the Prime Directive we are already freefalling into murky skies and without assistance by our calculations we will need get this started today, as for the power requirements it is possible for the Peregrine to do, but not without great danger. I'm still awaiting the final report from Engineering to come through, but time is critical so having all persons in place and aware will save time.

The COO pushes the PADD towards him, and starts eating again, this time obvious thinking about the situation at hand and no longer savouring his food, before carrying on.

"In line with the Prime Directive, how do we provide an explanation for the change in direction that the people of Calican II would accept should they discover it? True, their technology isn't exactly up to our standards but there's some chatter that indicates people are aware of the pending collision. A sudden change in trajectory might be suspicious."

Esel studied the man before him for a moment before shrugging his shoulders. "Honestly its irrelevant what they think, accept or believe. Whether its a mis calculation by them, some cosmic force or Divine intervention. We are not here; they don't know we are here, and we are not going to swoop in for a medal ceremony."

He paused briefly and gave out a low chuckle "Besides the gravity tractor solution is much cleaner than it suddenly bursting into billions of pieces, and swamping the planet in a grand light show, as you suggested might happen post the brief."

He sat back and took a swig of water, and looked out of the window into the darkness beyond.

But should we be interveaning at all.

Stardate 2365.05.16 (Sunday) - Impact minus 55:48
USS Peregrine, Deck 3, Mess Hall - 09:45

Esel looked over the table of arrayed food and did his best to hide his disgust, hoping that his table manners where up to the job. Even will his best scientific head on, he couldn't shake the fear that just being around, seeing and or smelling such foods would poison and corrupt his body to the point he was no longer an efficient being.

Each to their own, who am I to judge anothers choice.

He mused while wondering how a man who enjoyed this type of food in this quantity managed to keep his uniform fitting, he took a draft of his tall iced water, savouring the feeling of it entering his system.

"Even with a full cycle of sleep," the COO stated with a smile, his eyes closed, "the smell of coffee will wake you up."

"Indeed" He nodded in agreement, though coffee was still a poison that he would not upset the balance of his body with by ingesting it, the aroma certainly had a captivating quality to it.

The COO opened his eyes finally and looked across at Esel,

"Yes, well," he pauses to sip the hot liquid, "enough of the small talk. Ops has been scouring the communications and it's a little all over the place. Tell me your department has had better luck."

Picking the PADD up from the seat beside him, he started to lay out the foundation of the plan. Sliding the PADD across the table so that the COO could see the visuals whilst enjoying his meal.

".....Basically If we can redirect enough power to the deflector, whilst maintaining a close and fast orbit, we can act as a Gravity Tractor and pull the asteroid off course without any explosions or energy signatures."

"The effeteness of this approach would be increase with assistance from other Starfleet assets within system. The only consideration is how far do we pull it and in which new direction do we send it safely."

As he finished, he sent the data over to the COO, and sat back taking another draft from his glass and waited patiently for him to finish his current mouthful, and to hear his thought on the data presented.

=/= Lieutenant Ch'ronoss. Have you eaten yet? =/=

The happy voice of the COO chimed over the intercom. Esel looked up from the console he was working at and checked the time 09:30 it had been a while since breakfast, and he could do with Ops running an eye over the current set of calculations.

"Morning Lieutenant and not recently"

=/= How do you feel about meeting me for some food and reviewing our findings? =/=

"I feel that is a most welcome suggestion, I could use a refresh and I different perspective."

=/= Great! I'll see you in fifteen. =/=

He chuckled to himself 'see you in fifteen', fifteen what? that is the question' this always made him smile, though it was a very common Terran way to speak, for those not of Earth, it can lead to many confusing encounters and missed appointments. He quickly sent a message to the rest of the Science Team stating he had a meeting with Ops in fifteen 'minutes' and if there was any data they wished reviewed then to forward it to his PADD. He rose from his seat and stretched, picking up his PADD he left the Science Labs, planning to take a long and winding route to the mess.

Stardate 2365.05.15

USS Peregrine, Deck 4 Science Labs - 17:00

Having had his train of thought jump started by the COO, Lt Ch'ronoss made his way back to the Science Labs.

As he entered, he noted the fact that the whole department was now on duty and busying themselves at their LCARS. "Good evening all, I would like to thank you all for putting aside your personal time. I'm sure Ensign Eilal has updated as to the currently transpiring events." He paused to allow the nodding of heads and general murmur of agreement to subside "To that effect has anyone here started their weekend and imbued any form of alcohol?" Again, he waited for their responses before continuing.

"So, in short matters arising for the Heads brief just now. The Captain is aware of the impending disaster and so staying within the Prime Directive, we just can't swoop in a prevent what is occurring, but he also cannot just turn a blind eye, so what he requires from the Peregrine is to work out a way we can mitigate the upcoming events as much as possible whilst remaining undetected by the populace of Calican II."

"With that, Skylar can you coordinate with CFC and Ops with regards to current Federation assets in system other than us and how we may utilise them in either moving/ slowing/ deflecting the asteroid and/or any resultant blast we may need to employ."

"Lauren coordinate with TAC with regards to torpedo yields and other energy-based system we may employ on the asteroid, then feed that information into Skylar and Eilal."

"Eilal you are best placed to analyse the effects these may have on the asteroid. Given its material make up, size and its speed I am under no illusions that it will be possible to see with the naked eye from Calican II, so any energy based effect will also be seen, we need to be able to completely mitigate this, and stop any resulting radiation/ heavy metal fall out from poisoning the environment, damaging food chains/ water supplies and future growth."

(OOC: If Eilal would rather be working on another area let me know and I can swap names around.)

"Tanner, Steve work on non-destructive means of re aligning the asteroid no matter how extreme it is, I would rather have us all out in EV Suits mining it and pushing away the smaller pieces by hand, then have to openly blast it and break the Prime Directive, again work with Skylar and utilise all possible in system assets, nothing is off the table."

"With that, there is less than 73 hours to impact which means we have a lot less time to figure this out and get any course of action underway. We will down, test and adjust in six hours for an information cross check and update."

USS Peregrine, Deck 4 Science Labs - 18:15

"Sir" PO Gaultiers voice cut across the silence of the lab "I think we may have a viable non-destructive method in hand or at least a way a minimising any impact, but it will require immediate response as the longer we leave it, the less effect we can have on the object."

"Roger that, let me have a look" he replied as his screen filled with calculations and diagrams. Yes, it's a good plan but do we have enough time he thought, as he quickly typed the required details/ data projections into a file addressed for CFC and Ops and pushed it across.

"Captain, Commander Zai, Lieutenant Ferrero, science has devised a course of action that may, if not eliminate the danger, reduce the overall impact. The solution is time reliant so would need to be implemented as soon as we are able. I have sent over the required information to your respective consoles."

As a computer simulation flashes up on the respective screens, he continues to explain the plan,

"If we modify the Deflector dish into a graviton beam and then supplement its power from the Warp nacelles and focus it one a point of the object, and then manoeuvre the Peregrine in close and start a max impulse orbit of the object we can, artificially increase the mass of the Peregrine and act as a 'Gravity Tractor' to tow the object off course. Though looking at the numbers the power required for the modified dish beam and max impulse flight may leave us vulnerable in other areas of operations. Also, alone there is not enough time for the Peregrine to effect a complete miss of the plant, but if we can enlist the help of at least two or more of the Dilithium tugs/ transports from within the system , the extra mass combined, would indeed be enough to pull the asteroid from its current course with only minimum damage to the planet's surface around coastal areas and maybe volcanic activity. Loss of life at this point is inevitable, and will be a directly affected by the time it takes to set up the Gravity well, but extinction of the planet is avoidable and would keep our activity levels low, and as long as we maintained an orbit between the planet and the asteroid we should not be detected."

USS Peregrine, Deck 1, Officers’ Lounge - 1630

As Esel finished booking the Holodeck the COO caught up with him in the corridor.

"Long-range scans will easily pick up any communications from this distance. I'll filter through the feeds and take the Calicanian's temperature. If you want to run the math on any large visual interference with the asteroid by Calicanians, we can compare notes tomorrow." with the asteroid by Calicanians, we can compare notes tomorrow."

"large visual interference?" He repeated back to the COO not quite grasping the meaning of what had been said.. after a moments hesitation looking at Ander's as the penny dropped.

"Of course .... emitted light particles ..Radiation? ... Vaporisation of heavy metals?.....so close to the planet ..... " he turned away still muttering to himself as he mulled over the implecations of what had been said, he turned back towards the COO.

"Thank you Sir, we shall run the numbers"

I almost miss the large labs, and endless sea of bodies on a Starbase now. he mused to himself Now how to block/ redirct the light emitted from the giant explosion of a planet killing asteroid?

Stardate 2365.05.15 - Impact minus 73:12

USS Peregrine, Deck 1, Officers’ Lounge - 1630

Esel sat and politely greeted the others as they arrived for the briefing and settled down to await the Captain.

Captain Drake entered the Officer's Lounge to find everyone present, as expected.  His expression was heavy - something clearly weighed on his mind.

"Thank you all for coming on short notice," he opened, his voice husky.  "I apologize for intruding upon your leisure hours.  Unfortunately, it could not be helped."

As he sat listening to the unfolding brief, he could not help but notice the Captain still wore that heavy, grim expression, his voice can husky and strained from withholding his emotions to deliver as a professional. As the brief continued he noted the small gasps of disbelief and shock that flashed over the faces of the assembled senior staff.

Silas sighed.  "The Prime Directive is very clear.  All of us have sworn on our lives to uphold it.  We cannot interfere in the natural course of a primitive planet's development, no matter how terrible and grim that development may seem to be."

"That said," he continued,

Esel held his breath, Here it comes he thought, What sort of a man is our captain? How far from the book will he stray? How much more can or will he risk?

"I am not willing to let seven billion lives end when I could have prevented it.  My ideal scenario would be to come up with some way to save the inhabitants of the planet and still uphold the Prime Directive.  So I have called you here to help me figure out how we can do both."

And there he is our Captain Drake, Silent, Somber but  a man of character, belief and courage. There is the man they..no we...would follow to the very gates of Terran Hell.

Captain Drake looked around the room.  "Again, though, the big question remains.  Tractor beams, weapons, shuttles, engines... none of that matters if we cannot figure out a way to make this work with the Prime Directive.  So let's start talking."

As Esel started to relay the orders to the rest of the Science team via his PADD, the XO stood and started to add his take on proceedings, skillfully planning and communicating useful resources and pinch points within the system and started to galvanise the other Officers present into action. Esel smiled it was hard not to like the XO, his easy manner, friendly smile and welcoming demeanor, even through his own demons. He was the perfect counterpoint to the Captains grim visage.

Esel Stood “Captain with your leave”

(OOC Assumes meeting conclusion)

Leaving the Officer’s Lounge Esel made his way to the Holodeck

"Computer run simulation Ch’ronnoss Alpha, random pattern"

Stardate 2365.05.15

USS Peregrine; Deck 1, Bridge - 1606

After his dismissal by the Captain Esel made his way to the Science console on the Bridge and checked in with Eilal, making sure things in the lab where still running smooth, but no matter how he tried to busy himself, he couldn't shake the image of the Captain that had etched itself into his mind, the look of haunted shock that had fallen across his face.

Understandable, I had just dropped a massively shocking piece of data in his lap but.. He glanced across the bridge at the door to the Captains ready room. He is still in there, unmoving, indecisive. He was not sure if it was the lack of immediate action on the Captains part or the fact, he had no power to change things and had to wait.

An urgent message flashed up on his LCARS - Requesting Mandatory Attendance to a Department Heads at 16:30. Well that's something at least he thought. Checking the clock, he had little over 20 minutes to get to the offices lounge, enough time for a quick drink and a plan of action.

As he got up and walked to the turbo lift, he thumbed his comm badge.

 "Ensign Eilal"

(OCC assuming acknowledgement)

"There will be a heads briefing at 1630, please prepare all information you have found and make it available for then, also make yourselves available should a line of questioning be asked that we have to research on the fly."

He made his way to the mess and grabbed himself a drink before making his way to the Officers Lounges, he liked to be early get the lay of the land, and an advantageous position, he smiled to himself, old habits and patterns do die hard. As he took a seat, he pulled out his PADD and reviewed the data once more while he waited, when a sudden thought occurred to him.

"Ch'ronnoss to Gaultier, how's that analyzation going on the sample?"

=/= Sir, it appears to be made up of the same material as asteroid 2365 C41A3 DN17, Im running some simulations alongside crewman West to see if we can work out when/ how it was broken off and sent into the side of the probe, but it does beg the question of how long its been here and if it's part of a larger debris field passing through this area? =/=

"Roger that. Keep up the good work and keep me informed via my PADD."

Lieutenant Esel Ch'ronnoss took a sip of his drink and sat back into the chair, and tried to do something that was very much against his nature and just relax and wait for the others to join him.
