Morning... or something like it

Oh... I made chili the other day and was short a can of beans... I substituted bacon for them It was yummy.

Glad to see everyone here.

I'm stuck at home, once again I have locked the keys in the car. Which really stinks as I did have plans, luckily nothing too important, just things I would have liked to have gotten done. Guess I'll get some housework done instead.

hmmm, um, good morning....again?

I could have sworn I posted this morning in this thread at around six o'clock. Maybe I just dreamed I did.

Well, When I woke up this morning it was nice and cool, around 70 degrees. Supposed to be even cooler tomorrow. Loving it. At least something good came of TS Lee and its week of rain that was dropped on us. Have a great day everyone!

*Waves as he heads out*

Morning all. Just dropping a line to wish everyone a good day.

Tis the day before the first day of classes and the uni decided we, the engineers, needed a ten-hour safety orientation; so off I go, aha. Hopefully it wont all be a whitewash of stuff we've heard before... I think there is a test or something at the end so I'd rather not doze off.

Anyway, rambling.... Have a great day!

Hey

Hi. I just spent half an hour trying to take the tyre and inner tube off my bike to repair a puncture... Then I went on the internet, typed "change bike tyre" onto Google, and it took half a minute to do.

Heh.

I hate it when that happens!

But, when nobody else will fess up, I've resorted to blaming "the little blue guys." *nods*

Noooo... not Smurfs... they're not that little...

I'm talking about the "little blue guys" that show up in that space of time in between minutes and replace everything with exact duplicates... Ever torn your house apart looking for your keys, knowing that you left them on your dresser? You look in cupboards and drawers that haven't been opened since Christmas... you look under furniture in rooms you weren't even in since you last saw your keys... I mean you come this close to going nuts searching for those things... and then you find them right there on the dresser where you know you left them in the first place? That's the "little blue guys"...

There's so much stuff that they have to replace with exact duplicates that, sometimes, they don't always get it right, so, you end up with "lost" car keys, socks that go into the dryer but never come out... don't see why it's possible that they forgot to turn on the alarm clocks when they replaced those... *shrugs*

Anyway... You're up... you're here... it's a glorious (albeit somewhat soggy) day! Wooooohooooo!!!

little blue men

Eol! I think you're onto something....

At our house, we have Mini Hoonies. And those little guys have a tendency to take objects and use them for other purposes (see socks for sleeping bags, keys for wind chimes, etc.)

Cohoots!

They's in cohoots, I says!

Plottin' against us... scheming to leave us without keys and wearing mismatched socks!

Gremlins...

*nods*

They are nasty little fellows. They also have a tendency at our house of getting in the electronics... resetting passwords, playing with settings, adjusting volumes...

They probably locked my keys in the car yesterday.

Of course they are also helped out by the Baby here...

But gremlins aside... it's another lovely day here, enjoying the windows being open while I work on some housechores. I think I have been requested to make more hard boiled eggs and homemade applesauce.

Sounds like they're all related to the tangle gnomes. You know how when you hook up your television and dvd/vcr/blue-ray player, or game system, and you have all the cords in nice, neat rows seperate? As soon as you have to go unhook something, you'll find them a gnarly, tangled mess.

They're also good at curling laptop cords inside the bag.

Or twisting headphone cords in your pocket so that you accidentally snap one side.

Stupid tangle gnomes....

Just thought I'd mention...

... what I had for dinner.

I call them Vorpal Beans, just because "vorpal" is a direct synonym of "awesome".

Take a pack of little bits of bacon, fry 'em with garlic and chillis, add tinned baked beans, sliced-up tinned tomatoes, a little tomato paste, and some sprinkled random herbs. Poured over toast: Vorpal Beans.

Foodies

vorpal beans... sounds interesting, and messy

Ohh... that reminds me of sh** on a shingle. I should make that again soon. Good ol' army food baby!

And the applesauce isn't too hard really. Peeled and sliced apples, a bit of sugar, cinnamon, some water... simmer on the stove for a few hours then mash up. The hardest part is peeling and slicing all the apples, but I got me a fancy kitchen gadget that does most of the work for me (oh and not eating it all while it cooks cause it smells so good!).

p.s. Maybe we should have a thread for RDInn recipes. 'Gamer in the Kitchen' or something
