Hmmm...good point Van. That actually is more in line with my character's viewpoints as well.
From "The Art Of War":
Every battle is won before it is ever fought.
All warfare is based on deception. If your enemy is superior, evade him. If angry, irritate him. If equally matched, fight and if not, split and re-evaluate.

Topic: She said...He said Subject: okie dokie...guess I'll start :)
I could hear the distant screams as my tired, shoeless feet carried me further through the darkened alley. Unable to run any further, I stopped to catch my breath behind a rusty, dilapidated dumpster.
`````````````````````My Version```````````````````
The tortured screams stabbed my ears like splinters in supple flesh. I ran faster, my bare feet transporting my numb body into a harsh terrain of broken beer bottles and spent needles. The darkness enveloped me with nefarious glee as I hugged the cold, damp wall of the dismal alley. My breath came in short gasps and I could feel my heart thumping through my tattered silk shirt as it pleaded for air. I spotted what looked like an old dumpster just ahead and hurried to it’s paltry refuge as if it were a fortress built specifically for the purpose of sheltering me from the evil that was, by now, surely aware of my absence.
