Topic: There's No Place Like Rome
Subject: Marcus Vitellius Panthera

Didn't know whether you wanted this by PM or this way.

Name: Marcus Vitellius Panthera
Age: 21
Description: Vitellius is nothing special when it comes to his body; His height is average, he isn't more fit or stronger than other experienced legionaires and even his stamina is below average for the 10th cohort (although probably above average when looking at the legion as a whole).

What puts Vitellius apart from his peers is his mind. Not only is he the 10th cohort's medic, he is also very good at fighting in formation and his sword fighting technique makes up for his apparent lack of speed and strength.

Vitellius is very calm by nature, usually assessing all possibilities before making a decision on something.

Bio: Marcus Vitellius Panthera was born to a plebeian merchant and his wife. He wasn't a strong child, and wasn't very good at sports, but he was very bright and his parents made sure he got a good education.

He originally intended to become a doctor, but ended up signing up for the legions. He quickly got into shape, and was a very fast learner. Eventually he was moved to the 10th Cohort, mainly for his medical experience and also his ability to adapt to unpredictable situations, where he has been stationed for over a year.

I can probably double as the Clinicus, although I'd have to read a little about roman medicine (Wikipedia is my friend).

Other than that, I expect to send you my character tomorrow at the latest

((OOC: Sorry for the delay, busy weekend))

Koth Trey'lis looked around his small cell. He wasn't usually the nervous type, but something about his current situation filled him with dread.

He ran every possible escape-scenario in his head one more time. Play dead? Assault the guards when he was taken to interrogation? Somehow disable the force field? Bribe a guard?

None of the options seemed viable. For all he knew, the 'Legend of Koth Trey'lis', as he'd called it amongst his friends in his childhood, was at an unfortunate end.

I'm actually quite the fanatic on everything roman. I haven't watched HBO's Rome, but I know a bit about it. It would also be pretty cool to play free-form for the first time in a few years, if you'll have me :p

A subtle smirk spread on William's face as he noted Ren's displeasure at being shot. It's not that Ren seemed angry over being shot. He seemed more....disappointed?

William's humorous mood didn't last long, however, as his combat-reflexes took over. He rushed into the house, slipping his hands into his pockets to equip his Silver Knuckles. Although he was normally rather nice to people who were down on their luck, he knocked one of the bums, who stood in his way, aside. Cursing under his breath, he blamed Ren's attitude for his thoughtless behavior. Always good to have a scapegoat.

William's attack was straightforward. The man was still pointing his gun in their direction, and William dodged to the side in case his trigger-finger was still itching. As soon as his foot touched the ground, he kicked himself back up and used the force to perform an all-out overhead haymaker. Not very sophisticated, but it would hopefully get the job done.

(used the strength-gift to deal lethal damage)

Well, finally posted

As usual, I have no idea whether the rules let me do all the shit I wrote. Just let me know and I'll change it

The thing with the shattered axe was just for pure awesomeness (that is, pure cosmetics).

Arashi's gaze was still that of a man who'd sacrifice his own humanity for this one cause. If anyone knew him well, which hardly anyone did, they would notice an absence of the usual spark in his eyes. The thug under his feet struggled a little, but Arashi crushed his windpipe with his heel without even looking away from the man in front of him; his next target.

He darted towards the thug with his sword dragging behind him, making a noticeable cut in the floor of the cart. Arashi's strike went upwards at an angle, making a rather nasty cut ranging from the man's hip to his shoulder. The thug attempted to block Arashi's attack with his fire-axe, but the Kage no Ken cut through the wood of the handle like butter. As the thug fell back, Arashi kicked the axe-less part of the handle with his shin, shattering it. In the same motion, he swung his blade and it's power rippled through the air. The shattered pieces of the axe went hurtling along with the attack, with enough force to pierce flesh.

Arashi wasn't done, he proceeded towards the next thug who was already headed towards him with his baseball-bat raised. With a ferocious war cry in remembrance of his slain kin, he raised his blade and...

Suddenly he felt an iron grip on his shoulders. The shock caused him to hesitate. He hesitated for just a little too long...

Subject: "Cry 'Havoc!'..."

Arashi had been the first one to leave the original cart, but the carnage had slowed him down leaving him now second in line to attack. He was just on Cage's heels, charging towards the thugs.

Being distracted in battle wasn't usual for Arashi. He had the useful trait of being able to lose himself completely, doing nothing but simply enjoying the rush of adrenaline. Not that that kind of thoughtless battle was any good in serious circumstances. He usually got his ass kicked in every fight where he wasn't at an advantage. Which was nearly always. "An advantage is no fun" an old bar-brawler had told him once, just an hour or so before he got his skull crushed by a crowbar.

Arashi was distracted this time, though. Of all the people he'd met through his days, Scions were the only ones he related to. Sure, there were lots of different deities, he'd never even met any of his half-siblings, but one thing was universal for them: apparently the world depended on them. He didn't belong in Britain because of his Japanese heritage, and he didn't belong in Japan because of his British upbringing. He didn't belong in the snobbish circles of his mother because his father's blood, if he had any, ran too strongly in his veins, and he didn't belong in the circles of his own choosing because of his overprotected upbringing.

Sure, he could find lots of reasons for why he didn't belong with other Scions, but their common burden appealed to him. Seeing his 'kin' butchered like this made him mad. Really mad.

Arashi sprinted right behind Cage and ran past him when he stopped. A thug ran to meet him, but Arashi jumped up and kicked himself off a cargo-crate. His knee shattered the man's nose and cheekbone, leaving his face bloody mess )not to mention Arashi's pants. He really should have packed some extra clothes). The thug fell backwards from the force, landing flat on his back with Arashi standing on top of him. He slid on the floor like a snowboard a few meters forward, surprisingly far for a man wearing a leather jacket, stopping when Arashi was in the middle of the group of thugs.

Arashi's Kage no Ken materialized just as they stopped. Arashi's face was grim, almost sad. This wasn't one of those battles where he could get his precious rush and look cool while doing it. This was vengeance. Bloody vengeance for his 'kin'.

"Take a number, ladies", he said, his voice rather hoarse compared to it's normal tone. "You're all mine"

Subject: What now?

It took a moment for Arashi's blood to stop boiling. He always loved a good fight. Sure, he'd carved two people into mincemeat, but he was pretty sure they deserved it. Everyone deserved a beating for treating a lady badly, and more so if you were ugly. Pleased with himself, he let his blade dissipate, the tattoo returning to his body. He brought a hand up to get his hair out of his eyes and then noticed something which should have been obvious.

He was covered in blood. His shirt, his pants and, the worst part, his shoes. Stealing such stylish clothes had been a lot of trouble, since his mother didn't really send him enough money to spend on "unnecessary" things. He overheard the lady they'd just rescued talking about more of those thugs. Well, someone obviously had to pay for Arashi's bloodstained shoes.

He'd never admit to the obvious fact that the blood covering him was his own fault.

"Well, am I going to get all the fun for myself?", he asked the people who had stood up to beat on the thugs. He trusted strangers pretty easily, as long as they had common enemies. Without waiting for a reply, he ran out the way the girl had entered.

William watched Ren's humility towards the elder and was rather amused. Already his mind was beginning to plan out how he would fight his three targets. He didn't expect much help from his skinny comrade. Well, only time would tell how this would end. But he sure hoped their opponents could be lured somewhere where they weren't on home ground.

While William was lost in though, Ren turned to leave. Hearing his name mentioned snapped William out of his thoughts. With a hasty copy of Ren's etiquette, bowing a little awkwardly, he turned to follow.

This was gonna be one hell of a night

Just as the leader's lifeless body fell from Arashi's attack, a fire-axe almost cut his head off. He barely managed to see the attack just as he spun around. He bent backwards, the attack being just inches from making Arashi's nose a lot shorter. Seeing as he was already off-balance, Arashi cartwheeled backwards, kicking the leader's body towards his new assailant. The corpse fell into the guy's arms like a girl that's had too much to drink.

Using the momentum from the cartwheel, Arashi took a backflip and landed in a split, with one leg on a seat on each side of the train-cart. He'd landed with his sword held above him, a menacing glance in his eyes. Now was the time to really show off.

He brought the blade down, as if swinging at his opponent. He missed by at least three yards, but that was clearly intentional as black ripples flew through the air towards the axe-guy.

On a side note, Arashi also shook his butt a little in case the guy who'd first punched the leader was still standing behind him. He didn't like it when people had faster reactions than he did.

William shrugged and took the glass offered to him. Wine wasn't about to be impolite to the old man. He was rather satisfied, though. One Vamp and two ghouls didn't sound like trouble. He'd been expecting something much worse. Not to mention all the possible ideas about how to fight the old man that had been running through his head.

He was getting rather sick of Ren doing all the talking, especially since the discussion was now around William, and decided to get a word in first.

"Sure, no problem", he said as confidently as he could. It was hard to be confident under the oldie's icy glare. "Just tell me where to find the guy and he'll be out of your hair in no time".

Arashi was so involved in conversation with his newest friend, an elderly man who had surprised Arashi when he admitted that he'd never been in a bar fight, that he nearly missed the bloody hottie, with emphasis on bloody running past him. He did, however, ignore the old man for the rest of the 'show', as he referred to it in his mind, and observed as one of the thugs beat a man over the head.

The usual grin left Arashi's face. His eyes lost their spark, they simply went dead. Arashi's face was as if it was cut in stone. Sure, he enjoyed this chance to show off to everyone in the cart, but he wasn't much for the whole "cracking somebody's skull just because he tried to help a girl to her feet".

Instantly, he sprang to his feet. Although covered by his clothes, the dragon on his arm began to move. Arashi jumped up on the back of his seat, crouched like a tiger. His right hand was extended, the dragon having exited through his palm. His hand was slowly disappearing in a black cloud, which looked a lot like ink spreading through water.

Arashi jumped between the seats zig-zaggin across the aisle. He ignored one of the thugs to head straight for the leader. As he approached, he jumped.

"Over here, you bastard" he yelled at him while in midair.

He spun in the air, his black blade materializing just before he swung downwards towards the leader's collarbone.

Subject: Who're they talking about?

William sighed as he realized they were talking about him. Sure, he liked the idea of actually getting to do something instead of just stand around and listen to the two overly-courteous men try to gain an edge on each other, but he was nervous about what task the oldie would give him. He wasn't sure he'd go back to his own people after beating Richard, but he wanted that to be his choice. He wouldn't just allow himself to be disowned by his own people. He'd already committed two murders since his arrival in town, he wanted to keep them to a bare minimum.

He looked menacingly at Ren, who seemed amused by the task he was about to be given. He then looked back at Salomon.

"Very well. What do you want me to do?"

William's jaw almost dropped when Solomon mentioned the book they were supposed to pick up. He'd never been any good at hiding his true thoughts, and his hands began to twitch nervously. This old dude was starting to freak him out.

He looked towards Ren who kept up his act as if he didn't know what the hell Solomon was talking about. Maybe he was a capable ally after all. The first impression, however, had been that of a spoiled, useless brat.

William knew this exchange of words was out of his league. Instead he kept scanning the area, figuring out how best to fight in there if it came to that. The shelves were big and heavy, but he could probably tackle them down as long as they weren't bolted down. If they were indeed vampires, he needed fire. It might burn a few valuable books, but it was worth it. If only he had a source of fire. He could probably produce a fire with the electric lights, but that would take way too long.

He sighed and hoped Ren wouldn't screw this up.

"What do you mean you've never tried base-jumping?" Arashi asked the man sitting next to him. The man was obviously not italian, and Arashi suspected from the man's outfit and overall behaviour that he was some sort of businessman. Probably a banker. Then again, Arashi would probably have guessed that any man from Switzerland was a banker. He looked at his own attire. Judging from his torn jeans, the shirt that just covered his armour (which luckily was formed like a muscle-suit, making the little japanese guy seem more muscular than he was) and the rings on his fingers, not to mention the glimpse of the tattoo that could be seen and his hair which seemed to have a will of it's own, there was no way anyone could mistake him for a banker. At least he had nice shoes, he noted to himself. He always prided himself on having really nice shoes.

The man looked at him dumbstruck. The little asian had been talking ever since he sat down. From the reason he couldn't go to London (his mom) to the reason he wasn't welcome in LA anymore (arrested for being a little too enthusiastic about stealing the attention away from some celebrity) to the reason he'd been in Milan. It had seemed the logical choice after snowboarding in the alps. An unplanned barfight had forced him to hasten his plans to go base-jumping in Zurich. Not that he was going to get a permit or anything. That just let the air out of the whole experience. So did the parachute, but he decided not to tell the banker that. Might make him come off as weird.

Arashi was way too energetic to sit still for much longer. Instead of scaring the banker more, he decided to take a stroll through the train to see if he found anything interesting.

William remained silent during Ren's speech, scanning his environment and host instead. He'd never really been at home in libraries, and he seemed to be particularly unwelcome in this one. As Ren mentioned, this seemed the perfect place to look for knowledge. Despite being no scholar, William was curious to know what the shelves around them contained.

He decided to remain by Ren's side and not draw attention to himself. He suspected he knew the nature of the two others in the room, and he was really starting to dislike his position.

At the moment, he decided to just watch and be prepared.

William resisted the urge to give out a few more insults. He suspected a little more was all that was needed to push the unstable, skinny man off the edge. Doing so, however, would be nothing but a few amusing moments followed by a lot of trouble from their employer. For now, he was William's ally.

They followed Lopez' servant to a flight of stairs. William gave Ren a look. It was obvious William was more unwelcome here than Ren was, so William simply gestured towards the stairs.

"After you", he said carefully, hoping not to piss the little bugger off. "You probably won't get killed on sight"

William tried not to show his surprise as the man blurted out 'Werewolf' and 'Vampire' so easily. He'd suspected the man knew of his nature, but he had been hoping the reference to his 'kind' had been to big, burly men and not the Uratha. He'd also suspected Vampire involvement, seeing as the Library was open at night. He gave his companion a suspicious eye. He couldn't say, but he suspected the skinny fellow of being one of them. Dorian wouldn't have bothered with just your average club-owner.

"Do not order me around, Mr. Majere", he said calmly, although he wanted to rip the man's windpipe out and crush it on his face. "We are here for a purpose, and it seems your methods are ineffective".

He looked back at the man, looking him straight in the eye again, almost smelling his fear. Then he shrugged and nodded in Ren's direction.

"Don't worry about him, he's housetrained. Lead the way", he said with a hint of amusement in his voice as he gave him a suggestive shove in the right direction and nodded to Ren to come along.
