I'm working on a campaign that I will be DMing eventually. Right now I don't have much of anything done for the campaign world at all. I have never made my own before and was hoping for some helpful ideas to help bring this campaign world to life.

Subject: lighting
is it too dark for low light vision without the lightning flashes? some of us have darkvision, most have low light vision, and Kitara is practically blind right now. I was thinking of having Gosk lead Kitara out of the riverbed if she is the only one that can't see right now. I don't want to give our position away to anyone watching from town by using a sunrod or torch for the rest of the group.

I bought the supplies to share with the group. Giving everyone an extra waterskin or two should make sure everyone has water. Brianna was the only one that said she picked up extra water so I got extra that way all of us weren't buying travel supplies.

Gosk buys 5 vials of antitoxin for the trip. He also buys and fills 10 extra water skins. (250g+10g)
Is there any low profile ways for us to raise some extra cash for some more antitoxins,delay poison or neutralize poison, or healing potions? The wastes sound absolutely deadly without the right supplies.

don't wander to far off on your own. getting surrounded and killed by gnolls doesn't sound very fun.
If you charge into battle with the gnolls down the path you might want to work with Brianna so that you at least have someone with you the first few rounds. I'm sticking by Talon and the wagon because that rustling bush has Garrik paranoid. Patrick looks like he is hanging back at first, casting spells. Jozan is still AWOL.
Why can't you powerplay and roleplay???

did we see any of the gnolls that made the rustling sound in the bushes? i was thinking of using seeking ray because it ignores everything but total cover but i would have had to have seen at least a tiny bit of them for it.
If we didn't Garrik is going to wait to attack the first gnoll that pops out from the left using spring attack to hit it then back off out of its melee range. That would be his target for Dodge too. He would channel shocking grasp  and use the corrosive swords  ability along with it. If none show up the first round the beginning of the his turn in the second round he fires a seeking ray at the group down the trail. Garrik doesn't want to leave Talon alone with the wagon so he stays by it if the gnolls from the side don't show up. He's pretty sure there is at least one over there.

We won't have enough funds, at minimum 3x cost, even if all the money is pooled together to buy horses for everyone. Should we try to just get 1 horse and a cart or small wagon or should we just go by foot?
Are there any caravans or such leaving town we could blend in with till we get far enough away not to look suspicious? We could also steal the horses from them if we have to right? I'm thinking Gosk wouldn't have a problem with the strong taking from the weak because that's the way things work. The strong survive by taking from the weak. I think that's in character for him but I'm not completely sure.
I vote to use our funds for anti-toxin and remove poison items. Those Nightling Halflings sound nasty. And/or something that could affect the possible undead. I'm thinking Gosk wouldn't like undead because its against the natural progression of life. When he kills things they should stay dead.

Gosk just listened and waited as the group arrived one by one at Lauran's house. This wasn't the time for action. He was bored. He went through his different attack routines in his head as the others started their conversations.
Sorgoth spoke with a grin, "The down time has been good to you all. I hope it hasn't made any of you soft."
The soft are the first to die by my blade. I don't plan on being one of the first cut down. Upon Sorgoth's remark Gosk stretches and flexes his muscles to show him how 'soft' down time had made him.
He started to pay attention to the conversation as soon as Kitara started talking. He liked her eyes. They were the eyes of a predator. "My personal quest has kept me as sound on mind and body as as I can be. IT looks like the years have been kind to you as well but that is a trait of your race. My life is not much more that a summer in yours, but while I live I will make as much of it that I can. Others will grow and bloom after me and that is true of my race."
Everything that lives will die. Some just die sooner than others. Especially if they are in my way.
She continues talking to the group. "It is even a pleasure to see friends once again. I do also admit to some curiosity as to what we carry with us."
I could care less as long as we get paid. Somethings aren't worth the trouble of knowing. She should remember curiosity killed the cat.
