post combat notes

Nice FORT save there, Blake! A fail would've had you flat on your back ater taking that kind of hit!

Nice CRIT roll, Pearson! That shot might have destroyed the undamaged robot... as it was, you guys had actually shot it up pretty good.

Now, team status follows:

LT Kernan: mild cold damage. Nine rounds expended.
PFC Pearson: moderate cold damage. Six rounds expended. One 40mm round expended.
WO Blake: minimal cold damage, serious combat damage. Two rounds expended.
CPL Hatherford: moderate cold damage, serious combat damage. Two .45 rounds expended.

CPL Hart: moderate cold damage
SSG Kane: moderate cold damage
CPL Johannsen: serious cold damage
SGT Lee: mild cold damage

what kind of serious combat damage?

Am I bleeding or was it concussive (i.e. impact) damage? I'm guessing the latter based on that it seemed to be a ball of force.

So, maybe I'm having trouble breathing deeply, will have some really impressive bruising in places no-one but the medic will see, but not likely to bleed out in the next fiuve minutes?

Pearson's damage is burn based?

(Learning from Ayrn...ask lots o' questions)

hey, hey...

Shouldn't the heat cannon damage our sniper took heal the cold damage he took earlier?

Man, Olan, you have a way of making me feel like death is around the corner for our characters.

Is there anyway to heal combat damage? First aid kits? They work like "Cure Light Wounds", yes?

yeah, just like that!

Man, you guys are spot on! Yep, you can just call the medic, and her healing works JUST like Cure Light Wounds!

Except... not.

With a first aid kit - the sort that everyone carries - you can revive an unconscious character, stabalize a dying character, or attempt to stop bleeding.

I consider everyone to have at least basic first aid training (an equivalent to a rank in the treat injury skill).

With a medical kit - the sort carried by Johannsen - a portion of hit points can be restored. This can be done once per day.

A character can also be given long term care, which allows hit points to return at three times normal speed, but this requires no activity but rest.

Oh, by the way, Vanadia - Blake can't bleed out, you are right. Nothing says she can't bleed IN - i.e. internal bleeding due to, say, a ruptured spleen or other hidden damage.

But yes, she looks okay for the time being. Hatherford's damage is burn-based; that thing was packing a special sort of laser cannon, as well as a concussion rilfe.

Both rangers are in fairly bad shape... if I had to guess, I'd say that Hatherford is the closest to buying the farm, with Blake and Johannsen right behind, in that order. However, all are still capable of action.

Death right around the corner? Well, yes. It could be. I don't see this as a campaign, just a one off adventure. I make no claims that any of you will survive.

ape

Question about the A.P.E. explosives. What is their app. strength and can they be used without the primer? I.E. I find a way to provide the concussive force or what acts as the catalyst.

What if...

Well, what if Denes were to pray to his god for a miracle... huh, huh... maybe he could get a little divine healing?

Who am I kidding... it's going to be TPK by the time we reach the Labs. Freakin' robots will be slow-roasting our corpses over their organic flamethrowers (aka mini-Dragons) to feed their yeti masters.

Question

TPK = Total Party Kill .. when a single encounter wipes out the total party. I have had a few of those in my characters past.

Now to my question;

Everyone should be able to hear the Lt's broadcast
"Sergeant Kane, Fire Team A has engaged a hostile robot. Stand ready!"
right? Just wanted to know so I can put that in my post. Thanks!

robo pieces

I'll be honest - you guys are more injured than I really expected that you'd be at this point. Not sure why I expected that, though, due to the lethality factor I'm tossing around.

One word of hope - I handle healing a bit differently than standard D20 modern. Hit point regen has to do with your total hit dice, not just a one die roll.

Now, as for robot parts - there are scattered pieces of the robot in a nice radius around the garage. The base is lying on the ground, largely intact, as are both limbs (gripping arm and cannon). The head is badly damaged, due to the bulletholes in it (and the force of the blast). most of the torso itself is a melted wreck.

Really?

The team's roster in the Q&A ha your full name listed as Inga Borg Louise Bjornnsen, and the DM's first post refers to you as Bjornnsen. Since I have trouble with all those "s" and "n" combos, and hate misspelling names, I was checking there before I posted.

So...somewhere between character creation and the game, Bjorn Borg left and Scarlett Johanssen arrived...I'm sure the guys prefer Scarlett

Will edit my posts. So sorry!

Sorry... that was dirty... and wrong...
