Well said, Feffalump. Gonna be a whole new level of cool gaming with you now, by the way, given our shenanigans since we last Inned together.

As I'm poking back around the forums, I came across the Death of the Inn thread and felt a powerful need to weigh in, and did so.

I, for one, am excited to be back. Let's boldly go. And stuff.

Topic: The Death of the Inn?
Subject: Hell No

Hiya. Been away a while, but back now and have a real need to weigh in.

Simply put, I love this Inn. Like so many others, real life took me away from the fun I had here. When I first found the Inn several years ago, I was single and going to college full-time. I had a good deal of time to write and game at the Inn. Had many a good bit of fun with everything, from full games down to the fun word games and such. And who doesn't love a Demonic Vending machine?

Since then, I've gotten married, acquired a stepson, graduated college, and entered the workforce as a machinist. My free time got kicked in the groin. I let myself get away from this place, and I regret it.

To its closing, I repeat a resounding Hell No. If there is anything I can do to assist with keeping the place open, contact me and let me know. There's no reason I can't budget a bit of time for the Inn. I should have done it before now.

This is more than a gaming forum to me. I met one of my best friends here. I formed many online friendships. I enjoyed seeing the writings of those friends.

I'm back, and I'm going to stay, even if it's a once-a-week check in/game post.

I love you guys. Don't wander off.

...and we're off! Ok, then, so I have some writing to do after supper. I'll get a character made and get it to you tonight, Catt.

Looks awesome, Fefferton! I am enthused seeing all the interest. I was going to just recycle my old character, but I think this merits some thought and a new officer.

Last time I tried recruiting for a game, I had in mind to set it in the Mirror Universe. Give everyone a chance to be a bit eve-il. Or some be folks from our universe stuck there, some play residents of the Mirror U...dunno, just a thought.

I'll give it a whirl. And I give this strong suggestion to all who commit: finish the dang thing. I like the Trek games here, but every single one I've participated in has fizzled. Let's commit to finishing one-hehe.

Howdy Innmates! Just dropping in to let ya know I'm still alive. Been on massive overtime at work for a couple of months now, so my routine is get up, go to work, come home, stay up for maybe two hours, go to bed, lather, rinse, repeat.

Hoping it winds down soon so I can get back to gaming around here.

On the upside, got a vacation coming up in three weeks, and part of the festivities include a trip up north to visit with Eol. There shall be much merriment and releasing of Krakens. Heh.

Hope you all are well, and hope I can get back to gaming with you fine feathered folk soon.

Love to all, and may your camel remain humpy!

As with everything, I've heard good and bad opinions of it. But the good stuff I've heard is stuff I really like, and the not-so-good stuff has been stuff I can live without or deal with, for the most part.

Thanks I-B.

Still gonna be a week or two before my work schedule settles down. Once it does I'll shoot him a message.

Beams in. Shimmery.

Hey all.

Wanted to drop in and say howdy. I hope everyone's well. Thinks are ok here, just been working a lot of overtime for a while now. That may be slowing down soon, though, and I'm hoping to get to wander into a game.

Anybody doing or planning anything with Pathfinder? I bought the starter set almost a year ago and haven't cracked the dang plastic. Would like to give it a test drive.I'm told it's pretty much D&D 3.5.

Anyhoo, may your camel remain humpy. See you 'round.

Beams out...and is rematerialized mixed with an aardvark. Awkward.

Howdy all. Sorry I haven't been around much but real life has kept its ugly head reared lately.

Just wanted to drop in and say howdy. Hope all of you are doing well, and I hope I can get into a game or two before too awfully long.

Take it easy, and feel free to keep in touch here at the Inn or drop me a line at my e-mail address, [email protected].

Hugs and gentle foam sword thrusts to all. You know you like that.

Subject: Can't make it

Replied to Padre's e-mail, but just to say it here too, I won't be able to make it. In the middle of some home repair issues. Grumble.

If everyone but me shows up, feel free to NPC Kradius as needed.

Hopefully back on the air and able to resume regular play soon.

Topic: Star Trek Mirror Universe game: Gauging Interest
Subject: Delays

Hey all,

As of this afternoon, I am going to be on major overtime at work for the rest of the week and possibly this weekend.

Thus, getting some initial material ready is going to be delayed, probably until the first of next week.

Just wanted to keep everyone in the loop. If the four folks I mentioned in my previous post remain interested, we will still launch. If not, I may keep this game on the back burner for a bit, as I feel like four would be the absolute minimum to keep things hopping and interesting for all.

So, when it looks like the end of overtime is in sight, I'll send those PMs to the four of you to confirm that you're still interested.

And of course, if anyone else peruses this thread and is interested in playing, just give a shout here on the thread or PM me.

Thanks for bearing with me.

Topic: Padre's Chat Game
Subject: Apologies

Hey all,

Padre, I replied to your e-mail, but just so everyone else is aware, we had some rush jobs come in today at the machine shop where I work, so I'm going to be doing a lot of overtime for the rest of the week and possibly this weekend too.

Someone can feel free to NPC Kradius as needed, and I will try to jump back in as soon as possible.

My humblest apologies for throwing a monkey wrench in the works. I'm the only one at my shop who can program and run the CNC milling machines, so there's no one to share the load with even when we get rush jobs out the wazoo.

On the bright side, guess it's good job security.

Howdy. In general, my availability is as follows:

Saturday and Sunday, I'm flexible.

Giving this one last bump to see if there are any other folks interested in playing this. If no one else responds, I have I-Binary, Padre, Eol Feffylatypus, and Astrid as interested parties; I'll shoot each of you a PM to confirm your interest, then I'll start putting fingers to keyboard and putting together an overall storyline.

Topic: Star Trek Mirror Universe game: Gauging Interest
Subject: Not sure yet :)

I honestly don't know what time frame I'm going to set it in yet, I-Binary. As I've said, this thread is just to gauge interest so far. I've set a deadline of a week to see how many will be interested before I start writing; that week's not up until Monday. I want to see how many more we might pick up, if any, over the weekend. Number of players will be a factor in which era we play.

Also, just fyi, the established time lines and events may or may not be a big factor in the game. I like the ongoing timeline in the Mirror Universe and am very familiar with it, but I envision this being a unique game with unique circumstances. I don't like being beholden to a given "canon"; it can get restrctive.

So don't devise too intense of a plan for your character and his/her motivations yet. I'm brainstorming all sorts of things that go in all sorts of directions. And I'll be sure to give plenty of time to get your characters planned after I lay out a basic premise; there's no rush.

More to come at the beginning of the week!

Subject: Watch some

The links above should mention all of the episodes of the various series in which the Mirror Universe is explored. I'd suggest watching them if you can find them. All Trek series are on Netflix, and I'm sure if you do a search for streaming Trek episodes you'll find them as well. Watching them is by no means required, but it'll give you some background on the "dark side" of Trek.

Would be glad to have you, Astrid. In the episodes, the doctors have also been the "torture specialists". Some of them work to squeeze the maximum amount of agony out of disciplinary devices while still keeping the subject alive.
