You might want to bring Jon and either Tess or Grace with you.

Jason may be the Face but Jon is the Captain. He is the one with the final say. Plus Jason doesn't know how Destiny flies. Jason could walk into a impossible job because he couldn't ask Tess or Grace if Destany could handle it. Also if the episode "Shingdig" is anything to go by, you have to show up with someone your own age. Yes, Mal did go with Kaylee but becase of the way they were both dressed it almost looked like they were brother and sister.

If Jason just shows up with Stephanie, it would be a bit of a scandel. People would avoid talking to you because they think you and Stephanie were in a relationship.

I can't speak for Tess but Grace could go to the party. Grace was rasied in that life style. She would know how to behave. She might complain a little but she would act like a proper lady at the party.

Subject: Grace's explanation

At Jon call for dinner. Grace looked up from her inspection. Her stomach growled and she remembered the last thing she had to eat was her unsuccessful attempt to make a power drink out of protein paste and canned fruits. Plus Jon was amazing at making food. That and she had forgot to tell everyone about the case and what she had just discovered.

Grace walked with some speed to the gallery where she could already smell the stew. Jason and Ken we just coming in.

“If you’re hungry grab a bowl, let sit and talk. Tell us what’cha think, what’cha heard and what’cha saw. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of those Feds.” Jon said.
“Let’s hope not,” Ken mumbled between mouthfuls of stew. Grace waited patiently for her turn to get some food. When she got a bowl, she immediately said " Thank you Captain."

She sat down beside Tess and happily started eating her stew. Ken gave Tess a certain look which Grace didn't understand. Tess didn't seem to approve which confused Grace even more. She glanced between Tess and Ken, trying to figure it out. Finally she just shrugged and went back to eating.

“Hey Jon, you find out anything about Priscilla’s mystery package?” asked Jason as he sat down to enjoy his stew.

"I can answer that." stated Grace. "It's her wave transmitter. Kind of like a companions S.O.S signal. She sent a message to her guild before she passed out. I have no clue what, the machine doesn't save it. If you really wanted to know, I would have to dissect her transmitter which would piss her and her guild off."

She locked eyes with Jason and said "You might wanted to send a message to the Guild. Tell them where she is and warn them that she might be in danger. I did some research on her. Looks like someone using Higgum's code is trying to see if anyone died recently. She should be safe on Greenleaf. The place is crawling with Alliance."

Grace looked at the Captain and said "I think after the party we should return to Greenleaf. I found this medical card in her case." Grace pulled the card out of the pocket on her jeans and handed him the card "Stephanie says it's for organ donors. I think she won't needing it any time soon but the sooner we give it to her, the better" She said

"Finally I think we should be carefully. I think the Feds will be coming back. They came in looking for fugitives but the leader started talking about smugglers when he tapped against the wine. I thought it was strange so I checked out the cases. Size wise, they aren't correct. A little too big. And when I leaned against it moved. With its size and weight that should have been impossible. Plus it looks like there is a hidden door on each barrel. I also noticed Norm made sure when we were loading them, none of us actually touched them. Rich Folks aren't in the habit of lending out equipment unless they got something to hide." Grace explained. If there was any startled looks or anything, Grace didn't notice and took another mouth full of food. As she chewed, a thought crossed her mind and she glanced at Stephanie.

"Hey Stephanie would it be okay if I borrowed the X-ray machine?"

You can find most of the episodes by typing in "firefly ep.1-14" or by typing "Firefly ep. (Name of episode)"
The names in order are:
Serenity
The Train job
Bushwacked
Shindig
Safe
Our Mrs. Reymonds (really funny)
Jaynestown (Hysterical)
Out of Gas
Ariel
War Stories
Trash
The Message
Heart of Gold
Objects in space.

Normal food is generally protien paste (which taste gross and has the texture of a chocolate bar. It has all the minerals, vitamins you need to survive) and canned goods. It really rare to have fruits, veg, meat and seasonings but they still have them avaible.

I think they still call it coffee in firefly, but I don't think it is very common.

No, we don't need the pilet driving all the time. It's only when something is approaching or we need to do some turns/ avoid our deaths. In Bushwacked, Wash atcually is playing the game with everyone but leaves when the sensor start beeping.

"Gorram, that doesn’t look so good. That’s got something techy about it. Grace ,you think you figure this out without causing us no more delays?” Jon started to reach for the case but stopped, “Ah, I’ll just leave this for you.”

Grace didn't reply. She was staring at the case now that the Feds were gone. She felt Jon pat her shoulder. She locked eyes with him and a small smile crossed her face. Grace wasn't good at expressing herself but she appreciated The Captain's trust in her. As Ken and Stephanie left the room with the captain, she immediately flip the case over, looking for the tattle tale sign of a bomb. However like Grace suspected, there was no ticking noise, no smell of chemicals and of course no flashing red numbers. ""No. Of course it isn't an explosive. I knew that." Grace muttered to herself.

Figuring the best place to examine the case was her room, Grace took the case to her room. Along the way, she spotted the tape to the engine room was on the floor, confirming that the Feds had gone into the engine room. This made her groan in annoyance.

"Like any mechanic worth their tool kit would hide something with the engines and possibly mess up the engine" Grace stated. She quickly jump down to her room was and found that her room had obvious been searched through.

"Oh, Come on! Not my room!" Grace complained. She placed the case on her bed and quickly checked through her stuff, making sure none of the Feds have taken anything important like say her "slightly" modified cortex box.

After some time, Grace began examining the case. The light was blinking which meant it had power. She glanced at the lock which she recognised immediately. "tsk, tsk, if you want to hide something, don't make it so obvious that it's important to you." She muttered. Grace quickly opened up the workings of the lock. She snipped the wire that gave the lock power and manually hit the reset button on the memory chip. Now it would let her open it which Grace grinned about.

She open the case hoping for some important looking files or a flashing light that indicated a message. She was disappointed to see it was just a wave transmitter

"Aww, that no fun!" complained Grace. She hit the button to show her who Priscilla had been contacting. She had sent a message to her guild but the transmitter didn't save messages. Grace sighed, it wasn't much to go by. She started to contemplate dissecting the transmitter to get the memory chip and scan it when something caught her eye. It was some sort of card which had a medical symbol. Knowing immediately who could tell her what this was, Grace went to find Stephanie.

Dr. Young looks at the key with a bit of surprise. "That's a cyro-key. For clients who have organs grown and kept in cryo-stasis in case they ever need a replacement. To get it you need the key and a DNA sample to prove you are indeed the donor." She explained. Grace looked at her in confusion

"I found that in Pricilla mystery case. Isn't she a little young to be worried about a organ failure?" Asked Grace.

(OOC: Assuming Doc give me an answer like "That not your business Grace" or You don't know what's going on in other people's lives)

Grace shrugged and said "I'm going to go talk to the captain. See what he thinks" Grace went looking for captain. Along the way she spotted the barrels of wine. The sudden memory rose in Grace's mind.

The leader continues and taps each one a number of times and then walks away from the barrels."Smugglers. never know where they are winning to hide. found some in the ventilation shafts of a septic system once. Now that's dedication to hiding."

Grace paused and looked at the wine barrels. A frowned crossed her face as a thought crossed her mind.

He was looking for fugitives but he only started talking about smugglers when he checked the wine. Why would a man of uniform switch topics so quickly? I got a bad feeling about this. He realised something and I don't think it will be good for us.

Grace walked towards the barrels. As she did she tried to recall what she knew about wine. It was a liquid so if tapped or knocked about it would make a swishing sound. It also was next to impossible to get the stains out. The container had to be airtight and water tight so that 1. it didn't spill all over the place and 2. didn't turn into vinegar. Grace gently tapped the barrel trying to hear any sounds of liquid moving. Next she checked the containers for stains of wine. She assumed that even it was new, it would have to come in contact with the juice especially considering how clothes didn't escape unstained. Paranoid or not, Grace was going to figure out what the fed meant by his smuggler comment.

Sounds good. Grace won't have much to say about the search, mostly complain about them being in Destiny and they going into her room.

After serach she going to pull it carefully and assume the reasurch on it. I have a feeling there ain't going to be anything good insides this case so bring the crew might be a good idea.

I really need to work on my typing speed.

I think you might be right but wine and a sick companion don't really ruin these things. I think if someone was really planning to ruin these things, I plant a insider and put some type of toxin into the food. Wait a minute... we should check the wine after we get rid of the feds.

Or I might be thinking a little bit too much like Grace

The doctor lead both Ken and Grace up to the passengers rooms on the upper desk and directly into the room where the companion had been staying. Grace frowned in confusion. Why the companions room? The room is a mess but Grace didn't really care about that. Her room was not in much better shape. Stephaine walked to the bed and moves the covers and pillows away and points underneath the bed. “There is something under the bed, pushed to the back so, I believe, we wouldn’t see it.”

Ken and Grace look at each other (both claerly saying I got a bad feeling about this) and then lean over to look under the bed. There is a small attaché case there. The locks are bolted and there is a small light near the handle that is pulsing red – meaning the case has a power source. Grace froze in surprise and saw Ken raise an eyebrow and looked at Grace. He was most likely looking for an explanation of what the case was.

“Why would she hide something of hers on out ship?” Dr. Young muses. “Oh bother! The captain is going to need you two.”

"I don’t like the looks of that…” Ken stated as he straightened up.. “I suggest we not move it till we can examine it further… you think you can…” he started to say looking right at Grace.

Suddenly, the annoyingly loud klaxon goes off warning that the ship has been targeted by another ship. Grace jump at the sudden noise and her face went pale. She had never liked that sound and it always made her nervous.

“What the …” Ken started to say but stopped himself from finishing his sentence

“We best get to the cargo area… I think we are about to be boarded… we can deal with this thing if we live” Ken said as he recovered the bed area with the covers and pillows. Then he lead the way out of the room. Stephaine followed after him but Grace didn't. Grace frowned in concentration. Despite her paranoid side yelling It is Bomb! Get out of here! NOW! Grace couldn't panic.

It can't be a bomb. Who would set it? Whoever wants Pricilla dead, is trying to make it look natural. They wouldn't plant a bomb. That would leave to many questions. Pricilla has no reason to kill us, we saved her life. Beside, even if she had gone psycho and decide to kill both herself and us, how could she set it off? She unconisous, she can't activate it. If it was touch activated, Stephanie would have set it off when she found it. She can't have a partner, if someone out to kill her, she would be reluctant to give a kill switch to anyone. So if it not a bomb, maybe a message? Important documents? Evidence to get the guy who trying to kill her? concluded Grace

"OK, everyone to the cargo bay, We're gonna play nice, but we don't know nuthin about nuthin. Don't let them wander by themselves if we can help it. Maybe we can get them off the boat before they cost us our payday." stated Jon voice from the intercom. It interrupted Grace thoughts.

She hit the intercom and said "Jon, we got a problem. Pricilla left us a surprise in her room. Are we in any immediate danger?" Grace listen to Jon and mentally kicked herself. So much for getting rid of the feds as planed. Grace close the intercom and went down to the cargo bay. As she was heading there she hear Jason and Ken.

"Ken, this is Jason, what did you, Doc, and Grace find?”

Ken keyed his personal comm and replied, “Not much… just some things in the guest quarters that should have been secured better before take off… we can straighten things up after we hit burn.”

After letting off the transmitter key, Ken shrugged to the Doc and spotted Grac on her way. “We have to deal with this first then we can tell them…. I don’t trust transmitting anything about something ‘suspicious’ over a comm channel that the Feds just might intercept.” He explained. Grace nodded and moved quicker over to where they were waiting for her.

As she was heading down, Grace remembered a phrase that Roger had been fond of saying before he died. "No rest for the wicked, Gracie, that why we are always getting into trouble." Grace rubbed her temples and muttered to herself.

"Looks like we in trouble again"

In the final fantasy games, after a certain level you can get a mount. Only the mounts in the games look like overgrown ducks. Only they act like they are major parts of the game and if I remember correctly will attack monster for you.

On the topic of what to do. The ship hasn't done anything and we are jet black so we are hard to spot out in the black. Why not stay at normal speed?

We don't draw attention and we don't burn our limited supply of fuel. Plus with the way Norm was twicthing, I have a bad feeling about our cargo. I vote we aviod the Alliance ship by acting inconspisous and if they hail us, we run like the wind.

Well if wind could run in space.

Grace settled herself onto her bed with her cortex box on her lap. She had a feeling she would be doing this for a while. She quickly signed herself in and got into Port Authority courier subsystem. She made up a message and sent it to Husdon. It was almost too easy to get into their communications.

Who ever set this up wasn't worried about hackers. thought Grace. When an alert caught her eye, she quickly checked it out. A 4-17 in progress on the high alert and available crew were being called in - yet it didn't the ASREV here. Grace frowned and muttered "Why aren't you guys being requested?"

She quickly did a quick scan. A file pop up, the usual stuff about the ship and then something caught her eye. The ship was on detached duty. Grace blinked and raised her eyebrows at this. She had never heard of detached duty before. A 4-17 was when they were doing a major raid and the targets had dispersed, causing them to need everyone and anyone to hunt fugitives. So why was this one not being requested?

She quickly sent her message in but more to her surprise, the feds system was much more secure then she would have thought. She didn't get much. Her general impression was that they were on a long term mission and it involved a lot of steps. Most likely there were looking for a big name smuggler of drugs dealer. A disappointed sigh crossed her lips. They weren't after HIM. HE never supported drugs and while HE was a smuggler, he didn't have anything in Greenleaf. Yet another dead end.

She did a search on Norm but didn't find anything. However A Howard Lim pop up. The Feds were curious about him. She started to leave the port when a thought crossed her mind. A evil grin crossed her face as she switch the Feds into active duty. That would get them out of their hair and who knows? Maybe they catch whatever fish they were looking for.

She exited the port and rebooted the Cortex. No better way to get rid of any trackers then a quick turn off. Plus this part was harder so she wanted to get more comfortable. Once all back to normal, she did some research on her least favourite client:
Norm Sellers was a wine merchant with a excellent reputation, listed as an expert in many wine journals and associations. no dirt on him. thought Grace
Howard Lim was also a wine merchant but new to the game, without the credentials of norm but with a lot of cash to invest in land and different techniques of harvest. This guy has some friends with a lot of cash. thought Grace
Pricilla was a companion in good standing with her guild.

With that info, she went to go report to Jason after turning off her box. She heard the last part of the message.

" Hey Jason, I got the info you needed. Norm is apparently the golden boy among the wines men. I couldn't find anything negative about him. I don't trust him but the public does." Grace stated and ignore any comment about her not trusting anyone.

"I also did a search on that Howard guy. Looks like he new to the business but someone giving him a lot of money to help him. I suspect he got some connections. I have a feeling the Feds do too."

Grace listen to Jason question and gave him the answers. Eventually Jason went back to his work and Grace went back to her engines. She came out again during supper and was notable more relaxed. Everyone guessed it was due to no client being on the ship. She listen closely to the news about Pricilla. Grace was grateful that the lady was okay. Whoever was after her would defiantly have problem since she was in the extremely secure hospital in Greenleaf. Grace cleared the table and clean up since it was her turn. Once all the dish were taken care of, Grace started to head to the engine room. She wanted to be close to the engine when the left atmo. But they weren't going to leave until midnight which meant a late night. Grace was hoping to get a nap so she wouldn't be tired when she was working. She quickly went to her room. She settled quickly enough and feel fast asleep.

It was Jon voice that woke Grace up. “Ok folks make ready…… Tess as soon as Jason gets clearance put your loving touch to the helm and dance our lady out of here. ….Grace, TLC them engines, we gotta beat this deadline, could mean some good references from this bigwig if we help him WOW his guests ……Doc, keep up on Pricilla’s condition, I hate leaving her…Out!" Jon order through the intercom

She could hear the engines going so she got up and went up to starting working on the engine. She briefly heard footstep outside the engine room. She open the door to see the doctor heading to the passengers rooms.

"Everything okay, Stephanie?" asked Grace who was slightly groggy.

(OOC: assuming Grace doesn't get in trouble about calling her by her name. I guessing something like "I'm okay" or "I'm fine, just going up stairs.")

Grace glanced upstairs. She briefly wondered why she was going up there. "Are you trying to find the lady in white?" she asked out of curiosity.

(OOC: assuming something "Nope" or "I'm just feeling restless.")

"Okay. Just call if you need me" Said Grace with a polite smile. She went back to the engine room and yawned. She checked the engine to make sure everything was okay. She notice a couple screw and bolts were just a little loose. Not a major problem but Grace wanted to make sure they were tight. She was fixing one of the screws when suddenly Ken voice came out of the intercom.

"Grace... we have a problem… meet us _______" This started Grace and she dropped the screwdriver on her foot. "OW!" yelped Grace. Cursing under her breath, Grace hit the intercom and said "I'll see you guys there." She gave her hands a quick wipe on one of the rags she kept in the engine room. Then she quick left the engine room to see what was going on.

Phelan,

I don't think you need to worry about the feds. In order to know about our cargo, they would need a way into our computer. Concidering the ship can only hold four people and we saw all four enter the bar (well at least three). There is no one to hack into our system.

If you're still worried, here is an idea. While the feds are still in the bar, contact Blinky and get all the details. Make the call very short and very direct. Then get Grace to download the conversation onto her tec. (Assuming the message system is simmliar to email or phones) Then delete the conversation from the ships computer. That way we have the message secure and the Feds have no way to find out about it.

Subject: Till we meet again

The ground was hard and cold
The sky was dark and heavy
The rain fell like tear drops
It was as if Nature was crying
She remember what had happened
And cried in the memory

Yet despite the coldness
of both the ground and the rain
She refused to leave.
The girl stayed in the clearing
Ignoring Nature's grieving cries
And the doubt in her heart.

She knew she had to wait
He would come soon
He had made that promise
and he never broke his promises.
If seeing him meant suffering the cold
Then she would pay that price.

Then as the rain stopped
She could hear it
The soft cries of memory forgotten
Even as the air became still
The sobs could still be heard
and the moon gave them shape

In the moonlight, she could see
A small child dressed in white
his hair was dark like the night
His eye as blue as the rain
The boy was beautiful
but his sorrow wasn't hidden

The girl stood up
a gentle smile on her face
She walked to him
Holding her arms out
The boy ran to her
And she embraced him

For a long time, the two were still
Neither wanted to let go
Both had tears running down their faces
The girl whispered softly
"I'm glad you're back"
The boy could only nod in joy

The two finally release each other
Smiles on tear stained faces
The two held hands as they spoke
They shared stories and dreams
The girl no longer afraid
The boy no longer alone

The two spent the night together
Playing, Talking, Singing and Dancing
Time seem to go slow
Letting both forget their troubles
But time could not be stopped
And soon he would have to leave.

As the sun rose, the two sang
Holding each other's hand
The boy sadness was now joy
Even as he began to fade
The smile stayed on his face
and his voice the last to leave

The girl held onto the last note
Wishing she didn't have to go back.
Back to a mother who never smiled
Back to a father with high demands
Back to the rules that restrained her
Back to the blank looks from those around her

The girl looked at the now brightening sky
She remember the boys smile as he vanished
That memory replacing the last one
The girl sighed to herself
She turned to head to her home

Yet before she took that first step
She whispered to herself
"I'm glad you kept your promise.
I missed you while you were gone.
As you always said, dear friend
I will wait till we meet again"

(Oops, yet another long one. I promise the next ones will be short! I hope you enjoy. I was listening to a song and this poem popped into my head.)

Grace walk with Jason and Ken as they headed back to Destiny. She could see the ASREC ahead and see the crew talking outside. A look of annoyance crossed Grace face. As they got closer to the Feds, Grace increased her pace and kept pace with Ken. A trick she had learned during the war. If you don't look intimidating, stay near someone who is. Hopefully the Feds would leave her alone this way. However considering what happen in the bar, maybe she was trying a little too hard to stay unnoticed.

“Captain?” A short balding marshal came up from behind. “Yes Hicks.” The Captain who didn’t turn around or look up from his PADD.

“I’m Hudson. He’s Hicks.” The Marshall replied, pointing at the third man getting out of the ship. Hick was taller, better looking and dressed in camouflage plants and a khaki t-shirt

The Captain sighed, “Sorry. What is it Hudson?”

“Is this gonna be another bug hunt?” The short man asked with a slight whine. Bug hunt? wondered Grace

“No it isn’t. And what are you doing with that?” The Captain pointed at the rifle and waved dismissively, “Hudson, side arm only! I am sure I gave that order. Do you know the meaning of covert?”

“Oh sir! Can’t I tranq them? They are so much easier to deal with when I tranq them.” Hudson pleaded as a woman came out of the ship. She had dark hair, dark skin and dark eyes. She had a body of someone who worked out a lot and dressed to show it in tight shape hugging leather pants and thin veil of silk passing as a shirt. She shook her head at Hudson as she passed.

“Vasquez!” the Captain said, “Please shoot Hudson for me if he doesn’t put the rifle away in fifteen seconds.”

“With pleasure, Captain” the lady said and drew her sidearm.

“Whoa! Hey! I’m a getting. I’m a getting” Hudson said and ran backwards a few steps away from Vasquez before heading back into the ASREV.

“Say.” Hicks said looking over at Destiny “That’s a nice Boat.” This caught Grace attention and she eye the man. She knew Destiny was pretty but still...

“Is the plan humped now Captain?” Vasquez asked as she holstered her gun. What plan? Thought Grace

“Maybe. Maybe not. PA has them as on Med pass for a passenger. Could be nothing to do with what we’re looking for. Let’s find the Captain.”

Hudson returned without rifle or bandolier. “Can we check out the bar?”

Hicks and Vasquez rolled their eyes. The captain put away his PADD and looked around, “Not a bad idea actually. Probably the only place the crew could afford on tramp freighter wages.” Great. Just what we needed. Thought Grace

“Alright!” Hudson called out.

“Keep it real Hudson. Two drink max – you got me! You ruin this mission and I will make you cry.”

“Two drinks. Right! No Problem Captain.”

“Vasquez.”

“Don’t worry Captain. I’ll shoot him if he even orders a third.”

Grace frowned, two of the crew weren't in uniform. As far as she could remember, Alliance workers always wore uniform. Even if they were supposed to be covert as their captain had said the guns would always bring attention. Plus if two weren't in Uniform, why were the other two in Uniform? Then Grace eyed the ship as they walk. Wait a minute, If the feds followed procedures, and they always do, they would have a link already connected to port authority. A way out is a way in. I could find out some dirt on their plan. An almost evil grin flashed briefly across her face.

He nods respectfully as you approach. “Excuse me? Are you part of the crew to the ship there - Destiny? I’d like to speak to the Captain?” The lady marshal flashed a flirty smirk and a smile at the boys.

“Yeah….” Ken said straightening himself as he looked over the Marshalls “that is our ship… the Captain is inside… come on I’ll show ya.”

Ken noticed the flirty look from the female marshal … he smiled back and gave her a little wink before turning to escort them inside the bar. Grace let out a small sigh of relief as the Marshalls walked away. Jason turned and continued on his way back to Destiny. Grace kept up with him As he entered the ship with Grace he spoke up for the first time since leaving the bar.

“Grace, I know that you have things that you’re going to be checking on at your source box…while you’re at it would be so kind as to look into Norm Sellers involvement with the Tong and check into this ASREV’s timely arrival to sniff around at our heels? Off the ‘record’ so to speak of course,”

"I'm on it! Hopefully Tess remembers to get Howards last name. Need anything else?" asked Grace polite but she was itching to go see the engines and her room'

"Oh and would you mind if I made that quick call to Osiris to make sure the deal is solid?" While Jason waited he turned and looked at Brian and nodded toward the galley. Grace wasn't sure what was it was about but there a minor issue with Jason request.

"I'm cool with it as long as you're not using my Com. Tec. I have some messages to check and an engine calling my name. See you." Said Grace with a slight grin. Grace quickly walked to the engine room. She check the door but the small strip of tape she put on the door was fine. No one had been there. She pulled of the tape and entered the room. She put up the tape again. She notice it was starting to lose its stickiness but she had more tape. Rather than touch the ladder which had some engine grease on the handles, Grace jump down to her room.

When she got to her personal com station, there was a message light flashing, from Yukiko. Grace quickly secured the message, ran it through a decryptor, scanned it with two different bug sniffers and then funnelled the message through a trace sieve. Since it was from a known contact, she went ahead and played the message without further precautions.

"Kaida. You may be on to something. Magistrate Higgins just paid for that Priscilla to fly to Ariel not more than a two months ago. I couldn't go deep into med recs, you know how tight they are, but it was an elective procedure. I also can tell you that someone using Higgin's personal cortex has been scanning news and obituaries since you left Higgin's moon. Could be checking for lost uncles with cash, but seems timely. Anyway, it looks like you are in the middle of someone else's business so stay out and stay clear."

Grace groaned and flop onto her bed. In the middle again? Why can't it ever be toward the end of someone else business? Oh well... Thought Grace. She sat up quickly and ran a hand through her red hair. She quickly stretched and pulled her Cortex Data Bank. I may not be Yukiko but I can get some info when I need to. Let see how much I can dig up. After that I'll do some maintenance on Destiny and decide if I should tell Jon what I learned. Grace was a little nervous about telling Jon. He might not be happy with the whole "using her contacts to find out what people were hiding" Thing

OOC: Com. Tec is Communication Technology. Sorry Jason but Grace stuff is in her room and no one is allowed in her room. I'm pretty sure there is another one in the bridge. Not nearly as secure as Graces but it will do.

Subject: Grace is plotting something.

As the debates continued, Grace was mostly keeping a eye on Tess. Grace wasn't a stranger to the signs of someone over drinking and Tess was starting to look a little green. Grace was trying to come up with some sort of excuse that would allow her to escape and get Tess out of here. She looked around hoping something would give her an idea. That was when the gentlemen entered. He sat down at the bar and ordered a local beer. The man was broad shouldered and had a number of tattoos hidden under his white shirt. A scar swished under his left eye. Oh great here comes trouble. thought Grace. Tess excused herself to get something to drink.

I don't think that's a good idea thought Grace who had a slightly worried expression. The man didn't try anything but Grace still didn't like him. Of all the fancy, overpriced area, why come here? We're only here because we can afford this Luh Suh.

"Oh yeah. Good thing you asked. I would have forgot. Umm let's see that would be ...right ...right carry the ten ...right." Norm mumbled as he did math slowly in his head. This comment brought Grace's attention back to her least client. Of course, she really didn't like most clients but still...

Captain Brown spoke up, ”Norm, you show me the credits, let me wave Osiris and make loading this cargo quick and you've got yourself a deal, tariffs be damned.” Hey! Let the client pay for that! That's good credits your giving to the tariffs! Thought Grace with a brief unhappy look

"Huh!" Norm said clearly losing his train of thought. "What? Ah. Okay 3000 credits then. That will cover the tariffs, right? More than right? and any incidental right."

“Sounds like we have an agreement, Mr. Sellers,” Jason said cheerfully saluting with his glass of wine. “How Shi Sung Chung!”

"Great! This is just great! Right? right!" he says as he finished his glass of wine. He looked around one last time and suddenly dropped his voice, "Right. I'll have the casks brought over tonight after nightfall." He pulled a calling card out of his pocket and passed it over. "His assistant's name is Binkley. Decimus Binkley. he'll tell you all you need to know." and with that Norm backed away from the table, as if ready to bolt. Why do I feel like I'm missing 90% of the necessary information? Thought Grace who frowned at Mr. Twitchy.

"Norm Sellers? Is that you?" the man at the bar says as if surprised.

"Norm stops and smiles a nervous smile, "Howard! What you doing here?"

"I was going to ask you the same thing Norm." Howard replies.

"Right! I'm ...right. Red-heads!" He says and points towards Grace, "Can't resist them right? But she brushes me off right? Never had the luck with the ladies like you do right?' JUH SHI SUH MO GO DOHNG SHEE?! Was the thought that blasted through Grace's head. Her face again started to go red which did not help Grace's temper. A slightly pissed off sound escaped her which obviously Jason noticed. He made a gesture at Tess and then did a motion at Grace.

Tess set her glass of water down and placed her hand on Grace’s arm. What am I, a bomb or something? “Easy, Xiao Ya.” stated Tess. Grace gave a slight nod but still sent a glare at Norm that clearly stated BI JWEH!

"Ahh yes. Are you going back to the vineyard?"

"Huh? Oh! Right! Yeah! back to the vineyard, got work to do right and wine to make right."

"My MX is outside, I'll give you a lift."

Norm nods, "Yeah right. Sure. If you are going that way."

Howard gets up and puts his arm around Norm, "No problem for a good friend and business partner." and the two head out the door to leaving a bottle and a half of wine (a very expensive wine) and a new cargo for which to make plans.

As soon as they were gone, Grace stated "And people wonder why I prefer engines over the clients." That's when she heard the sounds of a ship. The engine sounds brought back painful memories. Grace knew the engine and the ship extremely well. Almost in reaction, Grace shivered slightly but covered it by stating "ASREV. I know those engines anywhere."
Not good, not good thought Grace as Ken announced “Alliance or Feds." He stood as he spoke appearing visibly tense. He turned from the window to the crew.

“This can’t be good.” he said in a statement that was probably very obvious to all of them, “we should get the guay out of here!” Well of course, it not good! When do they ever show up for a good reason?!

“It’s Feds,” he said with a note of relief in his voice. Wait a minute. Feds and ASREV handle criminal and short range missions. HE might be on that ship. anyone who knew Grace well would recognise the look on her face. It was the same expression she made whenever she was plotting something.

“Well Jon, it looks like we got our deal. I’m going head back to the boat and make sure everything checks out. Grace, Tess would you mind coming with me? I might need your help.” Jason tipped back his wine glass and emptied the contents. “No sense in letting good wine go to waste,” he stood up and gathered the rest of the wine up, “Bartender, what’s the damage for our drinks?”

“Aye, that sounds like a good idea,” Ken said, also downing the rest of his wine, “I think I will accompany you three back to the ship.”

“I think I’ll stay with the Captain a bit longer,” Tess said and gestured towards her unfinished glass of wine, “and maybe enjoy the, uh, fine jiu.”

"I'll come. I have some messages I need to check." Said Grace who suddenly sounded cheerful "Puhn Yoh, can you do me a favour? Can you ask about that Howard guy? I want to check out any known info about him but I need a last name" this last part was directed at Tess. (Assuming Tess yes) "Sheh Sheh!" thanked Grace with a grin. Grace quietly followed Ken and Jason outside. There was small smile on Grace face. I'm finally getting off this planet! thought Grace with some joy

Norman. Norman Sellers. That's me. Nice to meet you Jason.” introduced the man.

Grace kept her face blank as possible as Jason and Jon started the deal. Mentally Grace was figuring she do a Cortex Search on the Norm. Not much else she could do.

“What my friend here was trying to say was yes, as a matter of fact you have managed to find the crew of the black ship outside. Yes, she is fast, but as far as how fast that comes down to you sir. Now, if you’d please have a seat I’m sure that we can come to a mutually beneficial arrangement.” Jason explained. Grace leaned back a little and crossed her arms to get comfortable. She knew her body language wasn't very polite but hopefully the client will keep his attention on Jason. As Mr. Sellers made himself comfortable at the table, Jon extended a hand.

”Jon Brown, I captain that black beauty you were referring to.” Jon introduced himself ”You said you were looking for a fast ship, and I assure you whether you'll hauling casks or wine or outrunning a reaver boarding party, there's no ship you want save mine. Now I'm not sure why you need wine moved so fast, and I'm sure you can talk plenty about it, but I always found credits talk all for themselves, so what say we cut to the chase here. You give us a where, when and a price, and we'll get to makin' it happen.”

“Well that I can do and it is good to hear.” The man looks around nervously and then speaks to the barkeep as he comes up, “Tony, can you get a bottle of the Bin 47 for us? Make it two and put it on my tab. Yeah, thanks.” He looks around the room once more. “You might as well taste what it is you are hauling right? Right? Or I hope you'll haul. Cause I need someone to haul it. Right?” he says with a broad smile looking at all the people at the table. Despite her lack of social skills, Grace knew that most don't address bartenders by name. How often are you here, Norm? Are you the client or the customer? Wondered Grace with a frown. The man notice her frown and then said boldly “Whoa. Listen babe, whoever you think I killed, it wasn’t me. I make wine and that’s all. Grape stains only right?” It took Grace a second to realise he was referring to her and half a second to realise what he had said.

"WHAT did you just call me?" she squeaked as her face went just as red as her hair.Gorram it! I squeaked like a little girl! The guy is dead! thought Grace. Mentally cursing this guy into oblivion, Grace sat up straighter and look the guy directly in the eye.

"Look, Lao Buhn, I am not a babe. Nor do I like being called one. So, Lao Sheong , do yourself a favour and don't call me that. Dohn Luh Mah?" stated Grace who was glaring at Norman. To her credit, she had been respectful and not included swear words.

Tony arrived with two bottles of wine and glasses for all at the table and decanted the wine, pouring a hearty sample for all. Norman took the glassswallowed his entire glass. “Yeah – that’s a good batch. Anyway…where was I?”

Grace was more than a little pissed off and glare at the glass offered to her like it was Da Shiong La Se La Ch'wohn Tian. Since the bottle was in front of her, Grace grabbed it and looked at the label. Ai Yah Tien Ah! 100 credits per bottle? Was there Gold leaf in it or something? Grace vaguely listen to the debates as she did some calculations in her head. If a 750ml bottle is worth 100 credits, that means each ml is worth about 7.5 credits. He wants to take five kegs of this wine that is around 5000L of fine wine. That's a lot of potential money. No wonder he's desperate. That; plus his reputation would be soured a little.

“One moment, Mr. Sellers, I believe that we can come to a deal but there are a few things that I’d like to clear up.” Jason stated, “What about any taxes or tariffs on the wine? Who is responsible for those?” Jason asked.“How many tickets for the party would you provide? Finally, who do we send the wave to so we can make sure you’re being straight up? Well Grace, Tess, is Osiris in 9 days possible?” The last one was directed at Grace and caught her attention.

She thought about and finally said " As long as we don't have any problems, we can make it in about seven days. If we go at full burn, we can make it there even faster but we won't have any fuel left." Hopefully we will get paid unlike last time.

Just how sensitive would a mike be in a multiband? (a wrist watch that has a clock, compass, alarms, radio, remote control and can make voice memos.) I'm curious if Grace can make a voice memo of the deal.

However to do that I need to know how strong the mike is. It is to know how close Grace has to be to get a clear recording. So would she be able to recorded from her seat or would she need to place it closer.

Grace is going to most likely keep her mouth shut during the money debate since her twicthyness isn't going to help the deal. Well, After she gives the man a colourful explantion on why you don't call her "babe."

In my opinion, we go for #1 because we could get more from it. I don't think we need to go into the party to drop off the kegs.

Why does no ever believe me when I tell them not to work for rich folk? There is always problems! Thought Grace as she and her friends sat in the Cantina Bar. Grace was refusing to drink the soda, she had paid for. Was anyone surprised? Instead of giving her the can, they had pour her drink for her. How do I know you didn't put something in it? Was the honest thought crossing her mind. Of course, Grace knew she was being paranoid but habits are tough to break. She had problems breaking this habit. A slight sigh passed her lips as she thought about the events leading to this moment.

Grace remembered the Priscilla lady very well. She was a companion which had Grace feel very uncomfortable. So no one on the ship was surprised that Grace stayed in the engine rooms. While Grace doesn't like strangers, she didn't want them dead. When Priscilla had taken ill, most had figured it was Ken's cooking (which caused Grace to chuckle since Priscilla had set foot on the ship). Then two days later, Brian said he need to get her to the hospital. Grace was concerned and didn't protest going to Greenleaf. They had landed near a wine yard and got Priscilla to the hospital as quickly as possible. Turns out she was poisoned with something and Mr. Wings refused to pay them for their work.

While Grace defiantly was glad they saved the woman's life, she wasn't happy about their location. Greenleaf was known to be export/import galore with wine., medicine (and possible drug) supplies. However it was only like that if you had a contract. Then it was like being a fly on the outside of a air tight candy jar. None of her contacts wanted to offer anything since Greenleaf was practically raining Alliance. Even her favourite and most reliable contact, Yukiko had turned her down. The thought of her conversation with Yukiko made Grace squirm in her seat. Grace was normally honest with her friends about her contacts but sometimes she didn't tell them all her secrets.

Start of Flash back
"Kaida, you are on Greenleaf. I can't give you anything. It would be a Tze sah ju yi to both our jobs." Yukiko's image said through Grace's private communication bow which was in her room. Yukiko looked to be in her early twenties with white hair that complimented her red eyes. Yukiko was an albino who was one of the black market's best hackers of information. If you needed a job or need some info; you went to her.

"I know that. I am not a Buhn Dahn. Listen I need a favour. It involves a little hacking and looking at a Lao Buhn Ni'un dirty little secrets." offered Grace knowing Yukiko would want it. Immediately Yukiko grinned and sat up straighter. Grace had her interest

"You know the guy in charge of Higgins Moon?" Asked Grace.
Yukiko nodded and replied "Yeah. He a real jerk. Barely feeds his workers and gossips spreads about him and companions. What do you want to know?"

"The lady, we were transporting, nearly died due to poisoning." Grace explained "The only person with enough credits to...umm... work with her would be Mr. Higgins himself. Can you see if there any news about fight between Higgins and Priscilla? Or if Priscilla had any enemies?"

Yukiko nodded but she frowned. "Kaida, to be blunt with you. Why do you care? The lady had nothing to do with you or Matthew." She asked. Grace sighed

"Yuki, It doesn't sit well. Why would anyone want a companion dead? The lady didn't appear suicidal. I have friends with enemies. I just making sure none are trying to get them. I will never let anyone hurt my friends.
End of Flash back

“Ta Ma Duh, this is some horrible swill,” Ken said, pulling a face, “it tastes like I washed my underwear in this stuff last week.” Smoke curled around the ash tray where he had set his most recent cigarette. This comment brought Grace out of her thoughts.

"Then why are you drinking it?" muttered Grace who did not see the point of drinking something that tasty nasty.

“You know, we have enough fuel left, we could deadhead to the next planet. Might have a bit more work than this high falutent guild chao qian planet. Sitting around is doing nothing but costing us.” Said Tess who was wiping her drink. Grace liked that idea and was about to say something when Ken caught her attention.

“Hey Boss,” he said and nodded towards the man when Jon looked his way, “seems someone is interested in us.” Quietly Ken’s right hand moved to hang at his gun, a universal sign of TROUBLE!!! Grace moved her head just enough to look at the man without showing much of her face. A thin man, with thin brown hair, moustache and big eyes entered the bar. He wore a white smock that's stained with purple and red. He looks around the mostly empty place and then comes directly over to yhe table.

"Hi!" He says with a nervous smile and a nod, "You the crew of that ship out there? The black one? I need a ship that can get some casks of wine to Osiris quickly. I mean real quick. Is it a fast ship? I need a fast ship. Real fast." Grace frowned at him. The twitchy feeling rising in her gut.

The purple would match grape juice but red? That could be wine or blood. What's in the jugs? Wine or body pieces? The man was way too jumpy. What's making you twitch, buddy? Guilt, excitement, fear or do you have a natural twitch?

Of course Grace kept her mouth shut. Being paranoid and asking questions don't get you money.

"It might be," responded Ken, "but speed can be expensive." Tess rolled her eyes and Jason quickly introduced himself to the man. Grace shot Jason a glare. Of course, let that weirdly stained man know your name. Why not let him sit down and buy him a drink? As if he read her thoughts, Jason immediately did just that. Grace shot him another glare and had to bite back her grunt of annoyance. However Grace kept her mouth shut and let Jason handle the details. Ken was looking around the room. Trusting Ken's abilities, Grace stayed silent ad just looked at the possible client. She didn't need to like the customers, to still take the job and the money.

Hey Celeste, would you mind if Tess and Grace were good friends? I imagine Grace and Tess would get along well and could team up against Ken
